If she could do that then he would --- " Your asking too much of her."
After the girl said those words she stood up and grabbed her jacket from the rail, " I won. I'll be leaving for work today."
"....showing of?"
"Perhaps. You ought to hurry and recover soon too. It's not going to be a challenge so otherwise," Beth mumbled.
Both of them knew that she didn't care about the bet at all. This is her way of wishing him to get better.
Rhys waves his hand and the girl quickly left - the second she did he slouched to one side. He heard her loud and clearly despite her moving the final piece so loudly as if to block out her own words. Asking too much of her huh? Perhaps he was.
Whenever Rhys closed his eyes he could see her bright smile and feel the warmth she emits. He could see everything of her and she truly is beautiful. Exactly like a jewel, no even more so. A beauty that would transcend even the heavens. On top of that she's strong, courageous. However he knew what Beth was trying to say.
Lyn is still a normal girl, despite being strong. Yeah, he was aware of that being the case. That's why as much as possible, as much as possible he wished to protect those every days of hers for awhile longer. But he recalls the scars he saw on her that time she came out to see him on the deck. It seems like it's already too late for something like that.
If he closed his eyes.
She's going to remain pure and untainted no matter what he does to her.
But if he opened them, then he has to face the reality his actions have caused.
__
Today when she got back home from work tonight. She tried living without using her right hand. Lots of normal things like going shopping at the convenience store, cooking, going to the bathroom or taking a bath and writing anything proved to be rather difficult.
Lyn already had previous hand injuries due to her brothers beating. But never once had it become too difficult for her to use her right hand.
Kazuya's injury on the other hand is completely different matter. In contrast to hers that is.
Lyn slumps on her bed and raised her right hand up.
She only had one person occupying her thoughts. Kazuya say that it's nothing so easily like that. But living without his dominant hand is easier said then done, there's so many things you can't do....like drawing and painting.
Ah ---! That's right, the assignment they were assigned to do. She wonders if...he's managing to do it. If he can't even do those basic living things then he's surely having a hard time with the assignment. When they went shopping together, he insisted it was still alright for him to carry the bags.
Lyn however could see he was struggling quite a bit.
Kazuya, he doesn't have to say anything for her to understand... You've always been rather readable that way after all.
Readable huh.... Rhys came to mind and she deeply sighed. Three more hours than she ought to visit him. Lila felt slightly nervous now though. Rhys already knows the truth about her visiting him. But he is waiting until she admits it. How could she possibly do something like admitting it now of all times? After everything that has happened?
Then again, if she doesn't say anything. Rhys will eventually say so won't he?
He's always been readable, even when they were having a serious conversation. She somewhat knew that it would turn out that way with the two of them joking around naturally. Thinking about it now it was somewhat embarrassing, who would have thought that the day would come that they'd be able to speak with each other properly about it. Back then Lyn thought it was completely over.
She didn't think the situation could change. Rhys has others who cared about me. It'll be fine, she doesn't have to worry about him anymore. Yet that didn't stop her from sending him presents every year regardless. Perhaps it was already obvious then, that she didn't want him to forget her. That conversation....
She wondered and wondered - she kept on wondering whether or not it was okay. Whether or not it was okay to discuss it with Kazuya and if she discusses it with him, she wondered what he would say.
Would Kazuya break up with her because of it?
There is a chance of that happening. Even though she wished to erase that thought as much as possible. Lyn can't deny that possible scenario happening. After all the words she exchanged with Rhys that day, clearly meant that she would give him another chance right? By doing so, is she not implying that her feelings for him are not completely gone and thus...will break up with Kazuya one day?
Lyn frowned, and deeply sighed. 'Lately, her head feels all jumbled up.' Even though she has time to relax now, such complicated thoughts enter her mind.
She wondered what Rhys is doing.
Is he getting irritated?
If he's irritated then maybe she could... Lyn shook her head. Forget it, she will see him in a few hours anyway.
A prayer.
The two of them really are quite silly. Even if they pray if they don't work hard then it will all be futile. And yet, perhaps the reason why could focus on her work is because of that. Right now, Rhys is still injured so she can't possibly ask him to erase it.
So for now, for now she will drown on these memories for awhile longer.
Just a little while longer.
It will be over eventually, because the person the present her loves is Kazuya and she no longer has anymore doubts about that. Yet whilst she still has memories of that person left, while they are still here...
When she hears a light knock on her door, her thoughts broke off. For a second Lyn looked puzzled before she stood up and left her desk. She walked over to her door, 'who could it be during this time?'
Lyn opened the door and the moment she did someone stumbled forward.
"Rhys?"
"I couldn't wait," he mumbled softly.
Ah... Her gaze softened at his words as she hesitantly caressed his cheeks. "It was me, so..."
"Yeah, I missed you, Lyn," he brought his lips to her ear.
"Rhys..."
'The thing is...' Lyn however couldn't get a word out since he pushed her down onto the ground.
He buried his face in the nape of her neck, strangely it felt comfortable. She has to stop doing this, she needs to tell Rhys to leave. But, this person is also like her.
"What are we doing?" Lyn asked.
"You have a bit of a fever," he brushed his hands across her forehead. "I thought so. That's why I came here."
"But your still wounded, your also.."
"That's why I came back to the castle. I can't relax well in a foreign place," Rhys mumbled. He pulled away from her and scooped her up in his arms. "Did you eat anything yet?"
"Ah, not much."
"I'll make you something, and then give you medicine."
"Thank you."
He nodded and gently placed her down on the bed. Rhys tucked her in and bent down, it surprised Lyn when he suddenly kissed her lightly. "Rhys?" she called out puzzled.
