After chatting for a few minutes, she hurriedly made him leave. It was far too risky having him stay any longer.
"Why don't you let him see?" Rhys questioned when she walked back over.
Lyn sighed. "He already saw last time and his reaction..." She shook her head. "I don't even want to remember it."
Rhys chuckled. "Too much for his innocent prince mind?"
"Oh hush, Allen isn't like you."
"Isn't like me? Then what am I like?"
"Well your--" her sentence fell short when she realized that Rhys was right behind her. "Your you." She managed to say.
"I'm a bit hungry, let's see what's in these." Lyn opened the basket.
Rhys brushed his lips against her neck. "So, just now I was going to kiss you senseless but I stopped. Don't you think I should get some praise?"
'Why is this man so hopeless.' Lyn sighed and turned around. She placed a light kiss on his cheeks. "There."
This action of hers must have surprised him since he suddenly drew away from her.
"You know Lyn." Rhys mumbled. "I think we need to have a talk."
"About?"
Rhys pointed to the bed. "Sit down for a second."
Lyn went over and Rhys placed his hand on top of hers. "I intend to propose to you."
Huh?
"But, give me some time to sort some things out."
Propose? Did she hear him correctly? Why is he suddenly talking about proposing? Where did this come from? Her thoughts broke off when she felt his lips at her ear.
"You think I'm joking?"
"Well," Lyn trailed off. "It's a bit sudden."
"Sudden huh? I guess it is. But I am serious. I guess this isn't the best way to phrase this."
A smile graced his lips. "I've already given in. Because, I really love you. Be my wife"
Heat spread across her astonished face. "Huh…?"
What? Why does Rhys suddenly sound so sweet? For a moment Lyn didn't know what to do, when she felt him nibble the shell of her ear.
"Rhys! Stop it! Seriously, this isn't funny." Lyn exclaimed.
"Mmm, don't want to." He whispered seductively as she felt his hands run up and down her sides.
'When did his hands get down there? This man moves too fast!'
Rhys slowly placed kisses down her jaw line before he stopped at the crook off her neck and whistled. "A nice scent." He commented. "By the way why are you refusing? Weren't you the one who started this?"
She flushes even more when she recalled something. "That was..." Lyn stopped in mid-sentence.
'A greeting'. But the words wouldn't leave her lips and she sighed quietly. Why does this person always catch her of guard? How many more times will she fall for this?
"Tonight, stay with me."
"Pupillam will...get worried, I really ought to head back."
It was a lie of course.
"We can explain if to her tomorrow." Rhys brushes his hands down her sides, as she bites her lip trying to prevent the m.o.a.n from escaping her lips. "Besides do you really think I'd let you escape?
He really is foolish. He definitely planned this from the start. But whenever she looks at his eyes, Lyn could tell he was serious.
Him and his serious. She heard this so many times already. Then again, maybe she ought to take him seriously for once.
.....
When Lyn woke up the next morning, her entire body felt awful. She felt awful, Lyn looked towards the space beside her and noticed that Rhys just got up. She extended her hand out.
"Rhys, I'm cold."
Rhys lazily brushed his hands across her forehead. "You have a bit of a fever again. Did you drink alcohol?"
"Yes."
"I guess that makes sense." Rhys nodded. "I will get you some medicine and food. Stay right here."
She extended her hand out. "Don't go. It's cold."
"Alright." Rhys agreed. "So hey, you need to get that habit of yours under control."
"Habit?"
"Or rather, do you know what a pervert is?"
Uhh why is he asking her that?
"It's somebody who stares at someone for a long time with a creepy smile on their face."
At that comment her eyes twitched in annoyance and she raised her hand to hit him. But Rhys grabbed her hands with ease. He brought her fingers towards his lips.
"Kazuya was looking for you the other day."
"Kazuya?"
"Mmm." He kissed her fingertips one by one. "He was searching for you. I told him that your busy with your princess duties."
"I see."
"Not interested in what he wants to say to you?"
It wasn't like she wasn't interested because she was. What did Kazuya want to tell her?
But Lyn wanted to avoid speaking to him as much as possible. Her gaze fell on the man who kept kissing her fingers. She wonders what this person is thinking right now. Last night she was drunk and her mind was fuzzy. But she was still sane, she knew Rhys did not do anything to her.
How peculiar, it isn't like him. Then again she has not seen him in quite some time. In the time they did not meet, what was this man doing?
Rhys brushed his hands across her forehead. "You catch a fever so quickly these days, is there something wrong?"
"I think I am working too much." Lyn admitted. "I'm not used to these duties yet."
"That makes sense, Princess duties aren't as simple as one would think." Rhys changed their position until he was on top of her. He brushed his lips against hers. "Why don't we do something interesting Princess Lyn?"
"I am too weak."
His lips curve to a smile. "Is it that bad?" Rhys brought his lips to her ear and she shuddered at the brief contact. "I think your learning Lyn."
"So stupid."
"Relax, yeah?" Rhys pulled out a packet and she saw a familiar brush set.
She quietly sighed in her head. Rhys always says such misleading sounding things, but in the end he never does anything. The reason why she remains completely still is because she knows he will not do anything. At the very least Rhys respects her age and wont go overboard.
Whenever he treats her, he has to get close to her. Rhys undid her sash and she felt her robes loosen, he brought the brush to her chest. The cool sensation of the brush against her skin felt very strange. Quite some time has passed since he last treated her this way, so Lyn felt very strange about this.
