*UNEDITED*11
Truthfully speaking, Rhys understood why she would think that way. She has lived her entire life mainly in isolation. Even when she went out, all she saw is the ugly things - the battle field. Why was that the first thing she saw when she first went out? Prince Andrew… Ever since he met the man, Rhys did not like him at all. He understood that the man was raised to be a ruthless ruler. It is the same old story with any royals, but even then Rhys did not agree with it.
Elites, royalty and the elite family. He wants to destroy them all. The wall that divides people.
I want to see people become human.
Their real faces, and not the one they use for show.
But, his gaze fell on Lyn. He knew this girl would disagree with him.
No matter how well they got on with another.
"Hey Lyn."
"Yes?"
"Let's go for a walk around the town."
At that comment Lyn paused. "I don't think it is safe yet."
"That is why we need to go."
He needs to show her what is happening, even if it means endangering her. After a few minutes, Lyn nodded. "Okay, I will go with you. But not now. I have some other work to attend to."
"Don't go to far, your vision is still.."
"I understand. I will call for you if I need help." Lyn paused before she bent down and lightly kissed his lips. Before he could react the girl was already at the door. "I will see you later."
Rhys watched as Lyn bolted out of the room.
She-- she is getting quite bold these days. No bold is not the word he would use. He placed his hand on his lips and sighed.
She keeps catching me of guard. This is no good.
Rhys sat there alone for a few minutes, he didn't know when somebody pushed open the door.
A man wearing white clothes sat in front of him. "The book you asked for," the man piled a few colorful books in front of him.
He wore a disgusted look on his face. "Do not ask me to do this kind of thing in the future."
"Thank you."
Normally Rhys would make a sarcastic sounding comment but he was not in the mood today. The person who came to give him books was one of the young masters from a first class elite family here in the Mist Kingdom.
The only reason he got to know this young master was because he initially used is magic to brainwash the young mans soldiers. In order to blend in with the people here, he had no choice. Rhys did debate which identity he should use, he could have used a nobles identity. But if anybody pried and asked too many questions, the situation would be very bad for him. That was why he chose the identity of a solider.
But this man saw him, the young heir of the family. Wei sighed. "Is you relationship with the Second Princess not going well?"
Rhys frowned when he heard those words. Indeed he understood why Wei would think so. His gaze landed on the stack of colorful stack of books Wei brought him. Books on how to succeed in love, how to get along with your beloved, how to chase the girl and how to make her happy..
He knew it was futile reading such things. These books will only suggest something superficial. Lyn would see right through him, if he used the methods in these books. But what else could he do?
"I have tried everything on that woman and yet she isnt budging."
Wei rolled his eyes. "Are you sure? I bumped into her on my way here, and she kept looking over at the window to this room and was blushing."
Huh?
"I dont know-- well since it is you I can pretty much guess what you tried to do to her. But it seems to work."
Rhys shook his head and explained everything that has happened the last few days. He tried to leave out a few things but Wei saw right through him.
"First of all, let me confirm the girls age.."
"Seventeen."
"Sir Rhys, I understand that the Sound Kingdom may have different rules but here in the Mist Kingdom…"
"I know." Rhys interjected. "It is a rule for the first class elite and even more so for the royal family." When Rhys learned of this rule recently, he felt very frustrated. He then recalled his past actions towards her and regretted everything.
It is easy to forget her age because of her appearance but that does not mean he should dismiss it.
"There is no book in this pile or any in the empire that could tame a beast like you." Wei shook his head. "Honestly, did you not tell me that you were her lover in your past lives?"
At first Rhys only played around with this theory, he could not be too sure. But as more time passed by, the more Rhys realized that Lyn truly resembled that woman. He picked up one of the books. "So, you believed me when I told you that?"
"How can I not believe you? The magic you used on my soldiers is a magic from several decades ago." Wei shook his head. "Don't tell me you use that magic in public?"
"I do."
Wei slapped his face with his hands. "Good grief..and you wonder why people are wary when you make a move?"
Rhys looked at him with a skeptical expression on his face. He did not think about this before.
Why do I have to hide?
For the longest time he had that mind set but listening to Wei speaking, he now understood that it would be troublesome if others found out. If they found he had his memories of his past life, then they would use him as a tool for war.
