Seeing Allen’s move, Carrion decided to just go the hell with it and since he had no chances of winning, he might as well go out with a bang.

“Knight to e3.”

The black knight immediately moved to the e3 square after hearing his black king’s order as the black knight threatened to take the white pawn on g2.

Carrion expected Allen to defend his white pawn with himself but he didn’t expect Allen to sacrifice his white pawn.

“Pawn to h6.”

Despite there having a free pawn that Carrion could take, he couldn’t since the white pawn was a poisoned pawn. Even if that pawn was hanging, taking it would lead to Allen having his pawn closer to promotion.

“Carrion, what would your move be?”

Hearing those words from Allen, even Carrion didn’t know what to do. He knew that the pawn on g2 was a poisoned pawn so he dared not take it. If he did, it would only make the chess match between him and Allen end a lot earlier than what he had calculated.

Carrion also knew that he had no chance of winning against Allen and his position and material advantage were beyond saving. Even if a supercomputer were to take over his place and play in his stead, it still wouldn’t be enough to win against Allen and he knew about that..

He didn’t know what to do other than stall the chess match so he decided to play solidly.

“King to f7”

The black throne that Carrion was currently sitting on moved to the f7 square as it followed his command.

“King to f2.”

Allen responded to Carrion’s king move with another king’s move as his white throne moved to the f2 square.

“Knight to d1, check.”

The black knight galloped to the d1 square and Carrion called out a check after the white king or Allen was within the attack range of his knight.

“King to f3.”

Since the only check from a chess piece in chess that couldn’t be blocked was a check from a knight piece, Allen was forced to move away from the black knight’s attack range.

“Rook to a3, check.”

The towering black rook slid to the a3 square after it heard Carrion’s command and since Allen was within the attack range of the black rook, Carrion called out a check.

“King to f4.”

Allen was forced to move again as he moved himself to the f4 square to retreat from the attack from the black rook.

“Rook to a4, check.”

The black rook arrived at the a4 square as it threatened to attack Allen who was within its attack range

Carrion seemed to be not letting Allen have a breather as he kept on sending multiple checks toward him but Allen wasn’t pissed off about it since, in the end, Allen knew it was just a desperate attempt of Carrion.

It was Carrion’s attempt at lasting the game a lot longer than it should have. Allen didn’t mind Carrion not resigning since he wouldn’t be able to show how good he was if Carrion resigned that early without him being able to demonstrate more of his chess skills.

So he didn’t have anything against Carrion not resigning and Carrion’s attempt at stalling the game.

“King to g3.”

Allen commanded his white throne to maneuver towards the g3 square as he avoided the threat of the black rook.

“Knight to e3.”

Carrion commanded his black knight to gallop towards the e3 square as it arrive there while having a potential threat to Allen.

It was still within Allen’s calculations or more like almost every move of Carrion was within his calculations so without even a second passing by, he made his move.

“Knight to f4.”

“Yes, my king! I am willing to sacrifice myself just for your cause!”

The white knight heeded Allen’s command with a resolute voice as he steeled himself of being a sacrifice just for the sake of his white king’s victory. The white knight rode his horse to the f4 square as he waited for his demise. But even so, he didn’t regret it as it was all for the sake of his king’s victory.

Although the white knight wasn’t yet sacrificed as Allen was currently defending him from the attack of the black rook, the black knight would potentially threaten to attack Allen and the white knight knew about that.

“Knight to f1, check.”

Just as what the white knight and Allen had expected, Carrion ordered his black knight to move towards the f1 square. Carrion didn’t forget to call out a check as Allen was within the attack range of the black knight.

Of course, at this time, Allen could choose to move to f3 and continue defending his white knight. But Allen wouldn’t mind sacrificing his chess pieces or army if it would lead to his victory.

“King to h4.”

Allen moved his current location to the h4 square to avoid the threat from the black knight but by doing so, he hanged his white knight or sacrificed it in other words as he was no longer defending it from the black rook.

The white knight had already expected such a move but he knew that it was all for the sake of his white king’s victory.

The purpose of his existence was to bring his white king the victory he deserved even at the cost of his own life. He wasn’t a coward so he will face death like a warrior!

With that thought in his mind, the white knight braced itself for the attack of the black rook.

“Rook to a8.”

Carrion wasn’t greedy enough to take the white knight on f4 as he knew that it was a sacrifice and if he attacked it with his black rook, it would result in him wasting a move and that would allow Allen to move his pawn to promotion.

And that was why Carrion didn’t take the risk in taking the white knight as his black rook heeded his command and moved to the a8 square.

Seeing that he wasn’t sacrificed, the white knight was confused as fuck. It wasn’t what he had expected and he felt quite embarrassed about how dramatic he was.
