"Bro, wake up! I'm going to leave you if you keep sleeping." Alice wakes his brother up as she ties her hair up. Albert opens his eyes slowly and reaches his hand beside his bed taking up the electric float-chair that he has been using for the last 10 years or so.
"Well, did you forget what James's celebration party yesterday was about? He finally got his driver's license. He is going to pick us up today! So, we don't have to go up super early and walk to the station." Albert yawn as he tries to get to the float-chair and sit on it.
"Oh! right, that's why I keep thinking that I forgot something this morning. Oh! well, take your time then."
As she walks out of Albert's room and proceeds downstairs to watches the news as she always does every morning.
On the other hand, Albert is my doing his morning routine of in a jiffy; floating downstairs he sees his sister in a couch potato mode while his mom reading some newspaper with breakfast ready on the table.
"Did you eat already, Alice? James is already on his way so you better eat fast." Albert mutters while floating as he tries to get the toast on the plate.
"Uh huh, I'm not really hungry. I will just eat a bit."
"Your father will come back tomorrow so you guys must have to come back in the evening and help me prepare the food. He also said he left you a message on your comlink, Albert. So, you'd better look at it." his mother reminds him while still reading the news.
"Why did he have to leave a message when he is going to come back the day after? Can he just tell me tomorrow or something?" Albert answers impatiently while opening his comlink.

"I am Gustavo Almadovar and this is channel four news. The snowstorm is blowing heavily tonight, with an expected 6-8 feet of snow to fall over the next two days. Recent storms across the world have been extreme; so stock up, and stay safe! The He...."
"It's going to snow? It's July for Pete's sake and it's going to snow? Man! This world is getting weirder and weirder as time passes by!" Albert cuts off the news announcer
"Well, aren't you happy that you can play your online games all day and don't have to worry about school?"
"Yep but some of the games are getting boring nowadays. The developers are just some pricks who love to hoard money and make all the games as some kind of pay-to-win game. It's not fun anymore. What's the point of spending time gaming only to get boom as some kids pay 1000$ and then instantly kill you. Even in some MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), they keep making some OP (Over Power) new hero and nerf it to the ground once they have a new one." He exclaims while reading the 2 new messages that he received.
One of the messages is from James; send 9 minutes ago –
"I'm on my way to get you and your sister. Be ready in 15."
The other one is from his dad; It is a super weird message when other people see it. For them, it is just a random rambling that they use to do while discussing game concepts and stuff.
It is basically saying 'Hi' in their language. "Remember Albert, there are no useless abilities, only people who don't know how to use them." He read the message and then close it again without replying.
Albert father's works as a game developer for a big company. It is because of him that Albert who can't play outside a lot still can have fun. As Albert describe it to his friend 'My childhood is full of bliss, kids are envying me trying new games that have not yet been released.'
That is also the reason why He doesn't get bully despite being crippled from the waist down. You see 8-12-year- old kids who are mean to everyone outside their group; and coming to school every day floating will not let you in their group and be accepted easily.
Luckily, being the kid that plays super cool games that have not been released yet automatically makes you the cool guy. A big advantage too is when your best friend's literally the biggest kid on the block. You're basically safe from all the bullying from any group.
The bestfriend he is talking about is James – the big chatty guy that says anything that comes out of his mind. He gets into sports because of his father's encouragement when he's 13. Now, not only he's tall; he's also jack as f*ck. He rocks that buzz cut hair since he's still in his mother's womb.
You could argue and say he looks like an a**hole high school guy that you see in every movie – the captain of some football sport team or some sh*t. Fortunately, this one is into swimming rather than that football stuff; Or this would be another high school drama on Netflix.
"Yooo! Professor X and his sidekick come on out! We are going to be late!" a loud voice can be heard from the outside.
"Well, there's our ride let's go, sidekick."
"Hey, why do I become the sidekick now? Aren't I supposed to be the female villain that beats all the main character? I demand an explanation from the producer!"
"Well, it turns out that the producer refuses to use that script and you get downgraded to a sidekick. Just smack that unreliable manager of yours outside to relieve your anger."
"Aye! Aye! Captain! Goodbye, Mom!" she said as she runs outside to beat the shit out of James.
"Goodbye, Mom!" Albert said as he floats outside to see his bestfriend defending his head from the angry sidekick hand that comes his way.
A couple hours down the line, I am trying to stay awake in Calculus class. Mr. Atkins is writing some weird mumbo-jumbo on the board. I look at the clock above the board. 9:28 before I can sigh a breath of relief – sign that the class is almost over. An announcement bell rings and the principal's voice can be heard all over the school.
"All Students, report to auditorium at 10 am. Attendance will be taken and the rest of the class for today will be canceled. For those who will not attend will be suspended for at least a month." All of the students celebrate while I am left wondering what could have been the purpose of this sudden assembly.
