Chapter 4 - 4.Evolver

All the student is busy chatting and whispering with each other when the principal and some school staff walks into the stage. Albert is observing all of them closely and behind them, he sees 4 guys that definitely not affiliated with the school following closely. It's not that Albert 100% sure that he knows everyone that works in this school but they just don't seem to belong there. They look more like someone that works for the government and stuff. When he observes at each of them carefully he notices that there are also more peoples that he's not familiar with. And unlike the others stand in the podium, they seem different.

"Well since we're already behind the schedule let just start it off," the principal said as the light in the auditorium got a bit dimmer and a spotlight shines the stage brightly.

"As all of you know, Saint Joseph Academy is one of the top 10 schools in the United States. And as of today, the government just implant a new law that required all kids above the age of 15 to participate in an experiment called project New World. As 1 of the top school in this country, Saint Joseph Academy get a special privilege to get into this experiment faster than others"

The auditorium suddenly full of whispering noise and some of the students are panicking when they heard the word experiment. in the year 2250, the word experiment has more negative connotations rather than positive. In this day and technology age, something that has an unknown factor is scary. In this age when you can even create a hybrid of a different animal without any side effect on their life expectancy. Can you just create some guinea pig with your lab mumbo-jumbo and just leave us all out of it. Some of the students are raising their hands and asking questions even before the principal finished with the explanation.

'Look shady as the government maybe they would still explain some stuff so just sit there and listen to him you dumbo. Raising your hands wouldn't answer any of your questions at the moment' Albert finishing his thought as he looks at his fellow students.

"I know that a lot of you have a lot of questions so let me be clear here. Although we call it an experiment we already test this before so you guys are not the first to test it. And from the previous experiment, the results are quite satisfying. The government is planning to do this not only to this school but it will be mandatory for all citizens. But in the meantime, we are chosen to do the experiment first as the government still lack the equipment needed for the experiment. We are giving all this information about the experiment to all your parents/guardians as of this morning and some of them already agree to this. Well, it doesn't matter whether we have the permission or not as the government will enforce this soon. And to be honest this experiment has a 99% to bring you benefits so you don't have to worry.

Now to explain more detailed what the experiment is about; you guys can listen to Mr. Rodrick"

"I'll just give you a short summary about the experiment now; and after the experiment, you guys can ask your parents as they are more informed than you all. Hell, some of your parents even work on it and have more information than I do.

As you know that this world is currently in shamble and in the middle of chaos there are some people that you know as heroes helping people left right and center. Well, the heroes that you see and on tv are actually the more successful result of this experiment. And of course, after the experiment, we're not going to let you loose into society and let test your power on your own time. You have to adjust to your new power and training under our watch to avoid any potential danger to the society and of course yourself."

"The reason we are doing this experiment is that the world that we live in is dying and we need to move out and colonize some new place. We already found a planet to colonize and we plan to transport all the people in the world to the said planet. Now, this planet is not a vacant planet as they also have humanoid lifeforms. To invaded that place and make a place of our own is out of the questions as they are also a conscious and civilized lifeform so we reach an agreement to co-exist and help each other. The details about the agreement are the thing that you guys don't need to think about it. But what you need to know is in that world strength talks so you need to get strong. And on top of that, some of the people in that place have unique power so to balance it we're borrowing their power to gift some of it to you"

"I know that most of you are still processing all the information that you get but the earth doesn't have much time. We're super tight on the schedule because of the storm so we will start the experiment right now." Mr. Rodrick ends the explanation and brings more questions than before.

"In a minute our staff would distribute a bootle vial and those of you that don't want to do the experiment can tell them then and you'll be escorted home. Even though we say that this is mandatory, the law is not active yet so you can refuse it in the meantime." The principal took over the stage once again while some people hand over some weird vial."

As the staff is distributing the vial few peoples are escorted out of the room through the entrance by the teachers. Alice walking towards Albert's group escorted by her homeroom teacher there's confusion in her eyes. Her teacher told Albert that she wants to ask his opinion as she's not really sure. Albert asks the teacher for a couples minute so he can consult his parents about this as he pats Alice's shoulder to calm her down. James and Kana are fiddling with their comlink, trying to contact their parents.

Albert look at his comlink and there's another message from his Dad

"Do the experiment you don't need to worry about it. I'll explain it tomorrow when I landed."

"Now that every single one of you gets the vial you can drink it and don't worry about it the vial contains some vitamins and nutrients that will help you get to your prime conditions before the experiment. Now if you please go to the exit door and from there, people will lead you to the temporary lab where you will awaken as a new human being that will be known as EVOLVER"
