"Fiuuh, almost died there, hahahahaha" James said while laughing
"That's not funny!!!" Kana said looking at him worriedly
"Luckily we didn't hunt a stronger monster out there and chose this rabbit instead," Albert said patting James on his shoulder.
"Yeah, maybe we lure them 1 by 1, next time. I can block an enemy attack with my shield preventing them from dealing a massive amount of damage." James said caressing his precious shield.
"Maybe don't charge headfirst into the battle!" Albert berate him "BONE-VOYAGE can also tank a hit or two, why don't you let him go first and tank most of the hit while you focused blocking 1?"
"I just get really excited and just go with the flow, sorry. hehehehe" James said while grinning "But if he's the one tanking the monster then what do I do?" James continued arguing
"NOT DYING!" Kana berate him even further.
Seeing that he's fighting a losing battle James agrees with the group and promises them to be more careful.
"Sorry, I couldn't help much," Kana said meekly
"This good damn sh*tty healing skill just wouldn't work for me!!!"
It was rare for Kana to lose control of herself but being left behind by her friends maybe left an impact on her mental health. The party comforts her saying that they would help her research her condition and so on.
Happy with the bounty Alice is busy checking her stats and saw that she gains 6% experience from the whole ordeal. She told the group excitedly and are eager to hunt more so she can level up.
Albert Ward
-Gains 4% experience
-Puppet (Luna) gains 5% experience
Kana Campbell
-Gains 4% experience
James Smith
-Gains 7% experience
-Successfully creating new skill Shield Charge
-Successfully creating new skill Block
The one with the most bountiful harvest turns out to be James; not only he gets more experience point to compare to others he also successfully create 2 new skill. Shield Charge damages the enemy and also knocks them back; it also has a slight chance to stun the enemy. Blocking is just what it sounds like; it blocks an enemy attack that is directed at your shield.
"I was just about to ask you about your first attack as it deals damage and knock the enemy away. Turns out it was your new skill. How about you try to bash enemy with your shield? Now that we know you can attack with your shield maybe experiment more who knows maybe you get another skill." said Albert to James
"It's unconventional but what could possibly go wrong. Okay, I'll try that."
"aaaaaaaaaah, I forgot to turn my hand green. I should have done that maybe I can create a skill that way." Alice realizes her mistake and rushes the party to look for more rabbits.
The party hunt more rabbits and search for more Earth Chives for the next 2 hours. The experience diminishes really fast and by the time 2 hours pass by the rabbits only yield their carcasses and not even 1% experience. The party didn't try to hunt in the middle of the field as more accidents happen and some students even start dying due to PK or monster.
By the time 2 hours pass by the party medium inventory is full of rabbit carcasses. The party successfully hunt 42 rabbits and gather 2 big stacks of Earth Chives. Albert's group decide to go back to the village and unload their inventory and stock more consumables.
The village's atmosphere is darker than it was this morning. Instead of a teenager with extra hormones, you can see some students are down like a beaten dog with their sad puppy eyes. The empty training field is filled with students swinging their weapon and the shops are not jammed pack with students browsing the goods.
Entering the villages, Albert's party receive a lot of attention as the party brought 2 rabbits carcasses by their hand as their medium inventory is full. The party then to Mr. Theo butcher stall as Albert suggest harvesting the rabbits before they turn the rabbits head as proof of completing the quest.
Promising to pay the harvesting fee after they turn they get money from the quest. Mr. Theo usually charges 3 copper each for harvesting small game but since Albert want to harvest 42 rabbits; He gave Albert's party a discount and only charge 1 silver for the entire things.
Albert's party observe how Mr. Theo do the harvesting while stuffing the finished product to their inventory. Each rabbit would yield 1 rabbit head, 1 rabbit horn, 1 rabbit skin and 2-3 unit of rabbit meat. Unlike the rabbit carcasses, you can stack rabbit material emptying some important inventory slots.
Finish with the job Mr. Theo offers to teach Albert's party how to properly clean and harvest monster carcasses and it doesn't sound bad to learn more things as you don't know what would happen in the future.
-Quest received-
Learn harvesting skill from Mr. Theo
Harvest 500 monster carcasses under Mr. Theo's guidance. (You have to provide the monster yourself)
Reward: Life-skill Harvest
Penalty on failing the quest: None
Time limit: None
'500 per person?!?! I think we should just let 1 person accept the quest cause I think we would be leaving the tutorial village before we hunt a total of 2000 monster'
Albert did not press accept on his pop up quest and turn to his party to ask their opinions. The party agrees to pile their bounty on 1 person so he/she can complete the quest. Right after the party decide to let 1 person learn from Mr. Theo; Kana insist to let her learn so she can help contribute in the future. Alice complies right at the spot as she is to lazy doing tedious work.
Albert and James do not have any reason to disagree either so Kana ends up as the only one who accepts Mr. Theo's quest.
Albert's party continues to finish their business; turning in the quest, and selling the harvested material. The town hall rewards 5 copper coins for each rabbit head and with that money, the party can pay Mr. Theo for his work.
Kana tries to sell all the rabbit meat to the inn and restaurant in the village but since there is a sudden influx of rabbit meat they would only buy 200 units and the price is only 1 copper coin. Net them 2 silver coins in profit.
They keep the 3 leftover meat and proceed to the blacksmith and tailor to sell rabbit horns and fur. The price of the horn and fur are depended on the item quality; Damaged horn can be sold for 1 copper and pristine horn prized at 3 copper per horn. The tailor didn't want to buy the damaged rabbit fur but they prized the intact one at 3 copper coins.
