"Reputation point?"
"Yes the higher your reputation is the more likely for you to get a designated quest as quest issuer prefers high reputation adventurer. There's a lot more benefit to a high reputation and even some country would grant a high reputation party a noble or knight title to keep them working for their country." The receptionist explains further about the quest rewards
"Is the reputation point we gain in this village have the same value in the Eden world? Do the reputation points we have belongs to a specific region or it represents the whole world? Also, can we share this reputation point? We hunt the monster together so if possible we would like to split it up with the whole party." Alberts jump in the conversation as this is the first time he hears about this and this could be his ticket to have a better standing in the Eden world later.
"Your reputation would influence the world as a whole but different country has its own separate view about them and what is the value of the point itself. Some countries even have their own reputation system that is separated from general reputation points."
"You can split the reputation point with your party members but I suggest you not do so. Reputation point reward gets exponentially better as with each point and splitting them up is a bad idea. An adventurer party usually either lets its leader accumulate all the points and be the point person or put it under your party name."
"Both has its own advantage and disadvantages but the most distinct point is that; Party reputation point less than half of individual reputation point. You also can't acquire any nobles enfeoffment with party reputation point. Tough some nobles love to hire a private mercenary company and you can get a personal title that way working for noble houses."
'On one side, if the party leader leaves the party the other party members would have no reputation so you really need someone trustworthy to be the leader. On the other hand, you can enjoy all the benefits so long as you remain in the party but it was harder to reach higher standing as the point only worth half of what it is.' Albert's brain gear working summarizing all the information he got from the receptionist lady.
"Can we receive the other reward first and put a hold on the reputation point? We have 1 other party member and would like to discuss it first with her before we decide on what to do." James asks the lady as they would be late for breakfast if they continue engaging in this discussion.
"Certainly; The reward for hunting the black panther is 10 silver coins, 20 village token, and 10 reputation point. As you requested, here are the coins and village token and you can inform the town hall later to receive your reputation point. Please remember to exchange your village token before you leave the village for good as they would be useless otherwise."
"What about this black panther pelt? What is the reward for turning this in?"Kana pulls out a perfect black panther pelt from her inventory
The receptionist lady examines the goods and evaluates it as an excellent quality leather. Turning in the panther pelt would net the party another 5 silver and another 10 village token to exchange. Albert asks the party whether or not they should consider keeping the leather so they can ask the village tailor to make leather equipment with it.
The receptionist lady helps them decide as she shows them a list of equipment you can exchange with the village tokens. The black panther pelt can only make 2-3 pieces of leather equipment and the only one who uses leather equipment is Alice. Considering that they can exchange another type of equipment with the village token the party decides to exchange the pelt with coins and tokens.
Albert and the group log out to have their stomach filled after they visit the village store restocking their potions. Floating down the stair his family is waiting for him in a dining table with plates full of food.
Albert told Alice about the quest reward and ask what his father knew about reputation points. James and Kana having qualms whether to put it under someone's name or under the party name. Kana plans to ask his sister and suggest Albert ask his father for his opinion so they can better decide on what to do.
"They have their own plus and minus but I would personally suggest you put it under the party name. If you want to create a guild similar to how you see in an MMORPG game then putting it on one person's name; That way you can accumulate enough reputation point for registering your guild. Your other guild member could then accumulate their own reputation point via guild quest."
"But creating guild would invite more trouble as other powerful earth faction already have their own guild and creating new guild is competing with their interest as each country can only have a certain amount of guilds. Putting it under one person's name would be more beneficial at the beginning as the person who has high reputations can be the party representative but later on, everyone would need the reputation point and having none of it could possibly lock you out of some quest or some area."
Albert nods at his father's explanation and puts it on the back on his mind so he can discuss further with the others later on in the tutorial village. His father asks Albert what does he do to get reputation points as a reward because even in the first 2 alpha and beta test there's only a handful of people who acquire it at the tutorial village.
You can get them more later on as you interact with higher rank natives in Eden. Alice excitedly retold her magnificent feet hunting a black panther last night to her father making both of her parent worried as they hear their lovely 15 years old daugther fighting a big black panther even tough it was not her real body.
