Chapter 1330 - Was her dream truly caused by his story?

Pei Ge realized that it was dark by the time she woke up.

“Mommy, you’re finally awake!”

An An and Ran Ran, who were by her side, ran into her arms the moment she woke up.

“You’re such a lazy bum! You’ve been sleeping for so long! Brother and I have been waiting for you to wake up!”

She felt warmth filling her heart at the sight of her children acting cutesy toward her.

“What time is it now?” she asked, her hoarse voice dripping with drowsiness.

“It’s a quarter to five in the afternoon; you’ve slept for nearly four hours.”

A clear and deep voice drifted into her ears, and without needing to look, she knew that Ji Ziming had entered the room.

“Ah?! I’ve slept for so long…”

She frowningly sat up on the bed.

She felt that she did not sleep much, though.

“That’s right. If you’re still not awake, I would really bring you to the hospital for a checkup.”

The man walked to her side and looked at her expressionlessly, yet there was firmness in his eyes.

“I’m just too tired, so I’m trying to catch up on some sleep.”

Seeing how worried he was, she smiled in reassurance. She looked just like when the girl acted cutesy to the man and her.

At this moment, the man finally understood what the phrase ‘like mother, like daughter’ meant.

The two, young and old, were indeed alike.

“Did you have a nightmare? You don’t look well-rested.”

He sat down beside her and lifted his hand to adjust her hair.

“Nightmare? Did I dream…”

She frowned, looking confused.

She remembered that she did not have any dream…

No, it felt as if she did have a dream…

All of a sudden, she fell into deep thought. Her brows furrowed as she wondered on whether she had just had a dream or not.

She felt as if she had had a dream about a teenage boy, and he…

“Wuuu!”

She suddenly felt as if a sharp object were piercing her head, and the pain was so agonizing that she nearly fainted.

Let alone any dream, she could not even hear the man and the children’s concerned voices.

“Pei Ge! Pei Ge, are you alright?!”

“Mommy, mommy! Don’t scare Ran Ran…”

“Mommy…”

The throbbing in her head disappeared after a bit, and reasoning returned to her…

Seeing the others’ concerned faces looming before her, she shook her head lightly and signaled them that she was fine.

They were not convinced by this, though.

“Mommy, you don’t look fine at all.”

The boy worriedly eyed his mother.

The girl similarly looked at her worriedly.

“Pei Ge, let’s go to the hospital for a checkup.”

Ji Ziming frowned, seriousness and fear in his eyes.

She shook her head. “I’m really alright.”

She knew her body well and could tell that there was nothing wrong with it.

She had probably tired herself out recently, and that was why her head had hurt like that and why she had napped for so long.

Her mind was always tense; after all, so many things had happened recently.

“How can mommy be alright?”

The girl pouted; her large, watery eyes looked as though they would burst into tears at any moment.

“Mommy, when you slept earlier, you clearly looked very uncomfortable…”

Since these kids were by her side when she slept, they knew the expression on her face then.

“That’s right, mommy; when you slept earlier, you looked like you were in pain.”

The boy nodded as well. His adorable face was filled with worry.

“I simply had a nightmare.”

She rubbed their heads helplessly upon noting their doubt.

“Then, what nightmare did mommy have? Why did you look pained?”

Although the two did not believe her claim, they still felt curious when she spoke about having a nightmare.

“I dreamed of…”

She frowned, trying to recall it.

In fact, she could no longer remember what she had dreamed about earlier.

The only thing she could recall was that she was trapped in a small, pitch-black room, but she was not alone there, and there were three of them inside…

“What did you dream about?”

Her two kids stared wide-eyed at her.

“I dreamed that someone had locked me up in a pitch-black room. In that room, there were three of us…”

She frowned harder at this point.

Ji Ziming was stumped by her recollection.

Her dream felt so similar to…

“Huh? Trapped in a pitch-black room?”

The two kids could not understand her words. “That’s considered a nightmare?”

They thought that their mother had dreamed of a monster!

“Yes. I feel that it’s terrifying because there was also…”

Having spoken this far, she paused and looked up at the man. Suddenly, she had a realization.

“I got it! I had that nightmare because of the past you told me about! What I dreamed of was what you told me this afternoon!”

She finally understood why she had such a dream. It turned out that it was because she was influenced by the man’s story!

“What story?”

“Daddy can actually tell stories!”

An An and Ran Ran turned to focus their wide eyes filled with much anticipation onto their father.

Ji Ziming, meanwhile, frowned inwardly when he heard that.

Why did he feel that this matter was odd?

Also, did she really have that dream because of his story?
