Chapter 58 The CEO's Runaway Omega And Three Little Buns 36

The next day, Zhang Jun woke up to a notification alert from his phone. The alpha groaned and reached for his phone and when he saw the contents of the notification, his eyes widened.

BAM!

The phone hit the ground. What did he just see? How? The notification was an alert from his bank. After paying up the five million to Li Yexi the day before, he still had a little over four million left in his account and had been planning to use that to startup his business.

He wanted to move to a different state and if things were still not favourable, he was going to go abroad and startup there. There might be people who could recognize him over there but they were few. If he kept himself lowkey then he would be able to succeed.

So can someone explain to him why his account balance was reading five hundred Yuan?! He rushed out of his room and wobbled down the stairs. "MOTHER!"

"Mr. Zhang, the madam is out on a trip. Did you forget?" The part time cook said immediately Zhang Jun appeared in the living room. The kids were also there, ready to have their breakfast.

Zhang Jun froze in shock. "T... Trip?"

The cook frowned at Zhang Jun. "She left early this morning." And then the lady walked back into the kitchen. Zhang Jun shook his head and rushed over to his mother's room. All her belongings were gone. She was really gone and she had gone with all the money.

The alpha collapsed on the ground and held his face in his hands. How could she do this to him? Why did they all do this to him? He was supposed to be at the top, the envy of many so why was he continuously set up and abandoned?

Li Yexi spent the next few weeks familiarizing himself with everything again. After he'd fainted that day, he woke up in a hospital. His elder brother and father had been worried but were able to calm down when the doctor assured them that all was well.

He still had flashes of the events of his past life and was a little traumatized but he was learning to cope. He knew he needed to face Zhang Jun and Li Shiyu in order to get past his trauma but he had to admit, he was a little terrified.

Li Shiyu had run away to become the mistress of a married drug lord but had been discovered by the drug lord's wife and had been beaten within an inch of his life.

The omega managed to escape but no one knew where he was. Li Yexi shook his head to rid himself of his stray thoughts. He was on his way to the Zhang mansion to remove all the cameras that his helper had planted there.

What that entity truly was, he had no idea, but he was glad for their help.

The Zhang mansion was just like he remembered from his past life albeit with a smaller amount of furniture left. He toured the house as he grabbed the cameras, memories flooding his head and bringing tears to his eyes.

He needed to end this. He no longer wanted to wallow in fear and self pity. Everything was fine now and he was safe. Safe from all those disgusting patrons and their filthy hands roaming his skin.

And so, instead of heading straight to the Li mansion, he drove over to Zhang Jun's place. Li Shu had been keeping tabs on the alpha on Li Yexi's instruction so he knew that Zhang Jun had moved to an old apartment in the run down part of the city.

When he arrived, the triplets were squatting outside the tube apartment. Li Yexi got out of his car and carefully approached them. In his past life, he had hated them, just like their parents. But from the memories of the past months, he had come to realize that it wasn't their fault.

They, like him, were all victims so he felt sympathetic towards them. "Zhang Di," He called out as he reached out to the kids but their reaction surprised him.

The three of them flinched at the same time and started trembling, their eyes wide with fear. Li Yexi's heart dropped to his stomach. It better not be what he was thinking.

"Li Yexi?" Li Yexi looked forward to see Zhang Jun walking out of the tube apartment. The alpha looked horrible, the sophisticated business magnate of the past, nowhere to be found. His clothes could barely cover all his extra flesh and he had a faint smell of alcohol wafting off of him. Li Yexi wrinkled his nose in disgust.

"Li Yexi! It's truly you" Zhang Jun rushed forward. "You must be here because you miss me right? I knew you would never be able to forget me, it's only been six weeks and you're already back here. Ha! You must regret divorcing me."

The alpha raised his chin haughtily. "If you beg me, I can still compromise and accept you." Li Yexi just stared at him with a deadpan expression which caused the alpha to clear his throat and continue quietly, "Or you don't have to beg me, we loved each other very much after all. I would still accept you regardless."

Li Yexi wondered why he even let this man before him haunt his dreams. The Zhang Jun before him was truly not worth the nightmares. There is no way this oversized drunk before him would be able to hurt him ever again. He turned around to leave but his eyes landed on the kids.

There was no way he would just leave after seeing their reaction to him earlier so he looked to Zhang Jun. "How about we talk in your house?"

Zhang Jun nodded excitedly. "Sure! Come on."

"I just need to grab something from my car," Li Yexi said and walked over to his car. He grabbed his bag, slipped two cameras inside and also his taser in case Zhang Jun tried something stupid.

Li Shu always made him carry a taser around right from when they were in high school so he developed a habit of keeping one in the dashboard of his car.

He walked back to Zhang Jun with the bag. "Lead the way."

Zhang Jun smiled as he led Li Yexi up the flight of stairs leading to his apartment. He was surprised that Li Yexi was here today but he wasn't shocked. The omega had always loved him so much after all, how could he bear to live without him?

The divorce was just Li Yexi throwing a little tantrum. In the end, they would get back together and he would have the entire resources of the Li family at his disposal. Next, he would hunt down his mother, father and that slut, Li Shiyu, and teach them a valuable lesson!

The house was old and messy and gave off a musty smell. "I'm thirsty." Li Yexi's nose twitched but he resisted the alcoholic smell and said to Zhang Jun. "Please make sure to boil it."

Zhang Jun nodded and walked into the kitchen whilst the kids ran off to their rooms. Li Yexi quickly pulled out the two tiny cameras. He placed one in the crack in between an old painting in the living room and then walked through the door the kids had left in.

It led to a tiny hallway with two doors. Following the sounds of whispering, Li Yexi found the room belonging to the kids.

He walked in and the six year olds froze. Li Yexi sighed. He didn't want to seem creepy but if Zhang Jun was taking out his anger on them and abusing these kids, he needed proof.

"How are you?" The kids didn't answer him and just huddled closer to themselves. Li Yexi knew he was scaring them but he really had to do this. He walked over to the shelf with some books and acted like he was arranging the books properly and slipped the camera in between the books.

The kids would not be able to reach this part of the shelf and Zhang Jun did not look like he read the kids stories at night so the camera would remain hidden there, hopefully.

"What are you doing in here?" Li Yexi froze before turning to face Zhang Jun with a small smile.

"It's been a while seen I've seen the kids. I just wanted to speak to them," Li Yexi said. He did not miss the quick glare Zhang Jun sent their way.

"The water is ready." Zhang Jun said and lead Li Yexi out of the room.

Li Yexi walked into the living room and grabbed the cup of water. He brought it to his lips without taking a sip, took out his phone and pretended to receive a message.

"I have to go, Li Shu wants to meet up with me somewhere." He stood up and clutched his shoulder bag tightly, slipping his hand into the bag to hold his taser in the process.

"So soon?" Once Li Yexi nodded, Zhang Jun sighed and walked him to the door. "Li Yexi."

Li Yexi froze when the alpha called his name and held the taser tightly. If Zhang Jun tried anything, he was going to tase him to hell. "Hmm?"

"You know we were married for years and I really cared about you. If not for Li Shiyu seducing me, all this wouldn't have happened. You know how despicable your cousin is. So how about we start afresh hmm?"

Li Yexi was disgusted. Zhang Jun was so shameless. Even with all the videos that had been presented in court, he still had the guts to say that Li Shiyu seduced him. Did he think there was wool covering Li Yexi's eyes?

Li Yexi gave the alpha a fake smile before walking away. When he got into his car, he released the breath he had been holding all along and connected the cameras to his phone.

He might be overreacting and there might be nothing wrong but he would rather be wrong than do nothing to help those kids.
