When He Yuan finally opened his eyes, he realized that he'd fallen to the ground at some point. He slowly stood up and looked around. Elder Mo was still positioned on the platform but he looked very pale and stiff.
Elder Mo had fed him a fasting pill once during the seal breakage and since he was a little hungry now, it should be that he'd spent a month and maybe a week or two in here.
He Yuan stood up but after taking two steps forward, he felt a huge pain behind him and he tripped to the ground. He looked behind and he was shocked. Was that a... Tail?
A long slender blue tail extended from He Yuan's tail bone and had been caught in between a crack on the ground. That was where the pain had come from. He Yuan was dumbfounded. What was he seeing?
He quickly stood up and examined his body and his shock increased. His skin had a light blue sheen in contrast to his dark blue tail and hair, both of which had silver tips. His body also had spiral markings across his chest and arms. His nails were pointy and also silver.
He Yuan gasped and as he did so, he became aware of the elongated fangs grazing his lips. What the hell was this?!
Elder Mo finally opened his eyes and when he took in his disciple's form, he was taken aback for a bit and then his eyes widened. He gracefully hopped down from the platform before coming to a stop in front of He Yuan. "Amazing~ You awakened your demon bloodline."
Although uncommon, they were indeed records of demon bloodline inheritance.
He Yuan was too busy being surprised by the fact that elder Mo looked considerably shorter than before. Mo Sheng, Mo Jiu and elder Mo were roughly the same height but now, he seemed to have grown a couple of inches taller?
When He Yuan finally registered elder Mo's words, his eyes widened. Demon bloodline? ...What? How? Some Demonic cultivators were able to take on partial beast forms of their ancestors. Very few -almost nonexistent- hybrids were able to do so and the distinguishing factor was the markings that appeared on the hybrid's body.
In the storyline, Mo Sheng hadn't awakened his demon bloodline so what changed now? He Yuan thought back to his revamped cultivation method. Could it have had something to do with expelling the unwanted qi?
"Good. Good!" Elder Mo said heatedly. "Quickly, you need to cultivate and cement your cultivation level first. I would go and research on a method for you to regain your human form."
Elder Mo was about to leave when He Yuan stopped him. "Master, if possible, could you gather the sect master and elders and inform them of my situation? Just them."
Elder Mo's eyes widened in surprise. Mo Sheng had always been ashamed and fearful of the fact that he was a hybrid. That was why his sealed cultivation was kept a secret. He smiled gently. "If that is what you wish." And then he rushed out.
He Yuan sighed in relief before settling down on the platform once more. None of the elders or sect master had direct correlation with Mo Jiu. Although the sect master's children ended up as part of Mo Jiu's harem, they were currently touring the outside world and hadn't developed an attraction to Mo Jiu just yet.
This meant that his hybrid status would be kept away from Mo Jiu. The elders and sect master would not go running their mouths to others because: one, the fight between the righteous and demonic factions had just ended and the hybrids were in a slightly precarious situation and two, no one would want to mess with elder Mo.
The ones he should be worried about were the peak masters. Two of them had personal disciples following Mo Jiu and the last one did not only have a personal disciple following Mo Jiu but was also a member of his harem.
He Yuan absorbed qi and ran it all over his meridians, his body was in top shape but his dantian was empty. He still had no cultivation level but that was nothing to be worried about. He hadn't absorbed qi into his dantian so it was to be expected.
He Yuan also noticed something else, there were two spiritual roots in his dantian, a blue root and a white root. It was quite different from cultivators who were born with two roots as that mostly meant a single root being branched out.
These ones were completely apart and currently, the blue root seemed to be dominant. He Yuan just attributed the appearance of both roots to to the fact that Mo Sheng was a hybrid.
The qi in the surrounding rushed into He Yuan's body in a frenzy as he began practicing the fourth page of the [Strongest Martial Arts]. He Yuan steadily filled his dantian and felt his cultivation level slowly build up to date, his body had been prepared for years so the rapidly rising cultivation level was to be expected.
At some point, He Yuan lost contact with reality.
When He Yuan finally opened his eyes, his light blue skin had a silvery sheen. He had no idea how long he'd spent cultivating but since he was only slightly hungrier than before, it should be a week. Elder Mo was nowhere to be found. He Yuan ran his spiritual energy throughout his body and was pleasantly surprised.
His cultivation had finally caught up but unlike in the storyline where Mo Sheng had ended up in the early stage of Core formation, He Yuan was half a step in the early stage of Nascent soul.
He Yuan hopped down from the platform and stretched his limbs. He was still half naked and decided to put on his robes when he found some items laid by his robe. He automatically knew elder Mo had gone into seclusion like in the storyline to regain his strength.
There was a scroll in elder Mo's handwriting detailing his deductions on how He Yuan could changed back to his human form. There was also a pouch filled with high grade spirit stones, some defensive robes and a cultivation level shrouding ring.
Just like when Mo Jiu had showed signs of being a genius, elder Mo had provided him with the shrouding ring so his true cultivation level would be hidden and he wouldn't attract enemies.
He Yuan first placed the the spirit stones and defensive robes in his interspatial ring. Next, he put on the shrouding ring and then he picked up his robes but he found something underneath. A sheathed sword covered in blue runes.
He Yuan picked up the sword and unsheathed it. An ice cold glare spread throughout the room, causing him to shiver. The sword was Bing. Elder Mo's first sword companion that had been crafted by a high level craftmaster when elder Mo was still in his twenties. This sword had followed elder Mo throughout his journey and was a small legend in the eyes of many cultivators.
This sword had been gifted to Mo Jiu at first, when there was no hope of unsealing Mo Sheng's cultivation but Mo Jiu had rejected it. He was the proud son of heaven and didn't want to rely on others. He didn't want to be overshadowed by elder Mo's former glory.
He Yuan could understand the need to break stigma but in Mo Jiu's case, he couldn't comprehend it because Mo Jiu had gone over to the sword mountain to pick a sword instead. Weapons on the Sword mountain had belonged to a cultivator before and had great legends of that cultivator surrounding it.
Whenever the owner of a weapon from the Sword mountain died, the weapon flew back to its resting place on the Sword mountain. This was because the original owner of the weapon never fully removed their soul imprint on the weapon, thereby making it a part of them even in death. This also meant that it was very possible that Mo Jiu was the third or fourth owner of Huoyan.
Rather than that, wasn't it better to choose Bing? Elder Mo had completely removed his soul imprint from the sword and the sword also had over a thousand year history and experience making the sword essence to be very dense. Very much like the weapons on the Sword mountain.
This way, if Mo Sheng should die, the sword would always have some sort of attachment to him and if it was taken to the sword mountain, whatever glory the future cultivators that would be chosen by the sword achieve would be inadvertently linked to him.
Bing was like gold falling from the sky and many cultivators would kill to have such a high grade sword -scratch that, at this point, the sword was almost a divine level artifact. The reason elder Mo had stored Bing away was because he was in the middle stage of Immortal ascension.
At that stage, weapons were basically useless to cultivators as they could use their spiritual energy to recreate weapon glares.
He Yuan sheathed Bing once more and stored it in his interspatial ring. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to use such a brilliant sword. Weapons and spirit beasts were contracted to the souls of their owners. This was why He Yuan had refrained from contracting a beast in the Spirit beast forest.
Once Mo Sheng returned, the spirit beast would be left without a master and as for the sword, it would have He Yuan's soul imprint instead, making Mo Sheng the second hand owner because a person needed to be in the early stage of Immortal ascension to completely remove their soul imprint.
He Yuan was certain he wouldn't be able to achieve that stage before he finished his task so he would have to find a way to get a high level craftmaster to craft a weapon for him.
He Yuan dressed himself and began studying elder Mo's scroll. When he understood the process, he settled down and let the qi wash into him, pushing back the blue root in his dantain and empowering the white one. Once he opened his eyes, he was back to normal. He Yuan happily put the scroll away and left the room.
The sun was high in the sky and He Yuan had to squint in order to adjust. After that, he went straight to the inner disciples' resident peak to grab some food. The inner disciples were all looking at him weirdly but he paid them no mind. When did they not look at Mo Sheng weirdly?
When he arrived back at the Converging peak, he ran into Gu Long who was leaving Mo Jiu's courtyard with a gloomy face. When the man spotted He Yuan, his eyebrows raised in surprise. "You're finally back?"
"Hm." He Yuan said and walked away with a wave. It wasn't an odd question seeing as he'd spent over a month breaking the seal and another week advancing his cultivation.
When he reached Mo Sheng's courtyard, his eyes casually went over to the clocker as he chewed on a bun.
'...' The bun fell from He Yuan's open mouth with a plop. What was he seeing? Didn't he just spend almost two months in the seal breaking room?
Could someone explain to him why the clocker was showing the calendar of two years later? It couldn't be... right?
He'd spent two years in that room?!
