Noticing the slight change in Xu Lifen's expression, both Min Yanyu and Gu Longwei felt better in their hearts. Min Yanyu cleared her throat and pointed at the list on the table.

"Since you had decided to spend the entire day sleeping, brother-in-law Gu and I have finished compiling everything needed for the event.

-You can quickly take a look and learn what is needed for these kinds of events before we begin preparations."

He Yuan begrudgingly took a seat and grabbed the list. After running through it once, his brows furrowed. "This list... is for the banquet for the successful insemination of the babies, right?"

Gu Longwei frowned impatiently. "Did you come here without knowing what we were planning for? Of course it is!"

He Yuan's eyes lingered on Gu Longwei's well maintained face for a few seconds before he chuckled. These people weren't really joking when they said they wanted to turn the congratulatory party into Chen Meili's surprise party.

Every single thing on the list, from decoration to food to entertainment to dress code, were all Chen Meili's favourites. Where exactly did the Han family keep the real parents of the babies?

With the way things were set up, it seemed more like the Han family were planning a reveal. A reveal that introduced Chen Meili to the elites as Han Tao's official wife!

He Yuan languidly threw the list on the table. "I don't like it."

Min Yanyu narrowed her eyes. "What's there not to like?" Xu Lifen was clearly throwing a tantrum because she was punished!

He Yuan drummed his fingers against the table. "It's a pregnancy reveal and not an engagement banquet. What's with all the dull gold, black and heavy colours? I thought I was the uncultured one? How come I seem to have better taste than you guys?"

Gu Longwei grit his teeth. "Xu Lifen don't go too far!" He disliked this young woman so much. Just what was Han Tao thinking?!

Min Yanyu, on the other hand, dodged He Yuan's eyes. She knew clearly what she and Gu Longwei had done but after a while, she frowned.

What was wrong with the things they chose? Chen Meili was carrying her grandchildren, it wasn't as if the children could understand what was going on so why not let the person carrying them enjoy herself for a bit?

What right did the untrained Xu Lifen have to question their tastes? She looked to He Yuan in rebuke. "Xu Lifen, you know nothing about such events. We did not call you here to ask for your opinion. You are only here to see how it is done."

He Yuan took a moment to inhale before slowly enunciating, "The stars of this event are the babies. At the very least, the guests should be welcomed in an atmosphere that was filled with brighter colours to signify the formation of life.

-Even if you're going to ignore me and my husband, who are the biological parents of the twins, it is very inappropriate of the both of you to make it all about Chen Meili. I don't support it!"

Min Yanyu's momentum weakend and Gu Longwei eyes shifted rapidly. He tsked and softened his voice. "Even if you have an opinion, is there any need for you to go against your mother-in-law so strongly? Even if you didn't have parents to teach you, you at least have common sense right?"

Hearing Gu Longwei's words, Min Yanyu felt she had lost some face. She grabbed the list from the table. "Xu Lifen, I don't care if you cause a tantrum on the day of the event or not but I will not have you disrespect me! We are going with this list and that's final!" She stood up and walked away.

Gu Longwei watched Min Yanyu walk away before turning to He Yuan with a triumphant smile. "You should know when to stop and when to advance so you don't end up embarrassing yourself."

He Yuan eyed Gu Longwei coldly. He felt the strong urge to grab the sleazy man by the lips and drag him all over the floor. No one else was present so he didn't hold himself back from muttering, "Middle aged gold digger." Before standing up and walking away.

"You-" Before Gu Longwei could finish his words, He Yuan was long gone.

The minute He Yuan stepped into the room, he banged the door close in order to vent. This was the thing with the Han family.

They were always making Xu Lifen out to be unreasonable when all they did was repress her and make her feel like an idiot whenever she gave an opinion. Uncultured, untrained orphan, uncouth, brash, careless. The list is endless, all for what? Did she abandon herself in an orphanage?!

888 silently materialized in the room and watched his host. For some reason, his chest felt a little uncomfortable. Even if He Yuan would claim otherwise, he was aware that the reason his host had chosen Xu Lifen without hesitation was mainly because she was an orphan.

Just like Cao Xiwang, He Yuan tended to gravitate towards people with similar experiences as him and it was at times like this that 888 saw his host display the most emotions... even if he tried to hide it.

He Yuan stood still in the middle of the room for two whole minutes before slowly turning to his system. "I'm not copying that ancestral etiquette bullshit!"

888 laughed softly. "En. Don't."

He Yuan's shoulders relaxed at that. "888?"

"Hm?"

He walked over to the large window to look out. "Do you know what days Gu Longwei sneaks out for his night life escapades?"

"Sure." 888 glasses glinted as he smirked mischievously. "In fact... Tonight is one of those nights."

He Yuan spent the entire day going through the companies he'd listed and also taking out time to browse about the Han and Chen companies. Just for awareness purposes. He also looked through available properties in different states.

After giving it much thought, it was best if Xu Lifen and the kids did not remain in the same state as the Han family once she returned.

He skipped lunch and dinner altogether, feeling thoroughly satisfied with the hunger relieving pills he'd taken that morning.

When Han Tao returned that night, he hesitated before his wife's new room. He'd been advised by his uncle Yuanjun that it wasn't proper for them to be separated like this and even after he'd told his uncle his own reason, his uncle still disliked the situation.

His shoulders tensed as he lifted his hand and knocked on the door.

Knock, Knock!

He Yuan, who was in the middle of putting on an all black outfit he'd found in Xu Lifen's luggage, looked to the door with wide eyes. "Who?"

Han Tao cleared his throat. "It's me."

'...' He Yuan looked down at his shady looking self and back to the door. What was with this situation? Did Han Tao lack simple self control?

He adjusted his voice to sound wronged. "I still don't want to talk to you!"

On the other side of the door, Han Tao's shoulders immediately relaxed. "Okay. Sleep well." And then he turned to walk up the stairs to the master's bedroom. He'd done what was asked of him. Xu Lifen had clearly refused him.

'...' That was all? Han Tao was clearly reluctant. He Yuan rolled his eyes and quickly wore the rest of his 'spy getup' and sneaked over to the garage to wait patiently. The garage was quite a distance away from the main house and was underground so it was quite easy for someone to sneak off without supervision.

At exactly 11:00pm, Gu Longwei showed up, got into his car and drove off.

He Yuan made sure to give him some distance before following behind.

Gu Longwei drove his car for over an hour in excitement before coming to a stop in front of a private club, he quickly exchanged greetings with the bouncer before going in.

He Yuan stepped down from Xu Lifen's car and walked over to the bouncer. "Hello. How do I get in?"

The bouncer eyed the pretty lady before him in interest before crossing his arms. "Ticket."

He Yuan blinked. Of course he needed a ticket to get into a high end club. He felt his heart ache as he asked, "How much for the ticket?"

The bouncer cocked his head to the side. Although the lady before him was dressed in sleek black fitted turtle neck, black jeans and boots, she really didn't seem like the type to visit such a club. She really wanted a ticket? "There's a price range of ¥1,000 to ¥10,000."

888 chuckled. [Well things aren't going well.]

He Yuan remembered Xu Lifen's account balance and grit his teeth. What to do? Gu Longwei was almost out of his sight so he quickly took out his phone. "Give me the ¥1,000 ticket!"

Right after, He Yuan was given a blue band and then he followed the long hallway Gu Longwei had followed to enter into the club. The minute he crossed the threshold, his eyes widened.
