Chapter 26: Wolves

More and more wolves rushed into the room with a ferocious bloodthirsty aura. The two inside, Alan, Milo, and Daniel were battling against the pack of wolves at their own separate line.

Due to how chaotic the situation was, while Alan focused on the two wolves in front of him, another wolf managed to sneak from behind. The latter managed to leap onto Alan, was able to execute a bite, and latched on his back.

"Arghhh!!" A groan of pain involuntarily escaped Alan's mouth as a sharp pain shot through his back.

[Bite, Received 13 Damage]

With two wolves still in front of him, baring their fangs fiercely, Alan booted the book cabinet in front of him, causing it to fall upon the two wolves. At the same time, he took advantage of the motion to propel his body backwards, hitting the wall behind him and forcing the wolf to release its bite.

[Smash, Inflicted 8 Damage]

Alan swiftly turned around and mercilessly stabbed the fallen wolf a few times with the knife in his hand. Blood splattered everywhere as the wolf whimpered in pain.

[Stabbing: Inflicted 18 damage]

[Stabbing: Inflicted 20 damage]

[Stabbing: Inflicted 17 damage, Target dies...]

After the notification informed its death, Alan immediately stood up, ready to greet the two wolves that had just escaped through the book cabinet.

Swiss! Splatt! Splat!

In the fray against Alan, wolves were able to purchase a few scratches on him with their sharp claws. However, the two beasts died in a horrific state; multiple stab wounds that oozed blood profusely were visible all over their bodies.

The death of the two wolves marked a total of seven wolves Alan had killed.

[Level 4: 1740/2000]

[HP: 119/140]

[Stamina: 58%]

[Survival Points: 600]

This was the main reason why Alan lured all these wolves into this place. It was all to farm for XP and Survival Points, allowing him to get stronger at a rapid pace.

As the body of the seventh dead wolf fell to the ground, Alan noticed out of the corner of his eye. One wolf had separated from the others and was moving toward the door to the next room. It seemed it had smelled and followed the blood trail the skinny man left behind.

This forced Alan to move away from his strategic position to prevent the wolf from breaking the door open.

Arriving right beside the wolf, he quickly tackled the beast with his body. As their bodies fell to the ground, he stabbed the knife in his hand into the wolf's body, causing it to howl in pain. But just a few stabs in, Alan was forced to turn his attention away because another wolf pounced on him from behind.

[Scratch: Received 10 Damage]

More and more wolves rushed and jumped towards him. These beasts moved fast, but Alan maintained his composure despite the perilous situation. He gripped the knife tightly and started to swing rapidly, slashing and stabbing the pack of beasts one at a time.

Eight, ninth, and tenth wolves

Seeing the numerous dead bodies of wolves sprawling all over the floor made Alan couldn't help but recall the first time he played this round. He remembered how hard and terrifying it was for him to kill just one wolf.

This time, however, just one would not cut it. Even these 20-something wolves were still not enough. As planned, Alan quickly grabbed two wolf corpses, one in each of his hands, made a deep cut on each, and threw the bloody corpse onto the street.

He stood in the middle of the snow, took out a [Cigarette] light it up and have a little smoke.

[Reduce fear and anxiety for 15 minutes]

It was quite a tough battle and he was preparing for the next one to come.

The howls of beasts once again resounded through the air. This time, the horde that came was a huge one. With just a glance, Alan counted more than 20 of them rushing towards his direction.

Even so, Alan still maintained his calm and walked back inside. As soon as most of the wolves followed him and entered the room, Alan glanced at Daniel and said.

"Let's warm this place up, Shall we?

Alan threw the burning [Cigarette] toward the barricade that had been smeared with gasoline, the one he found in the apartment.

Not waiting for the fire to spread, All moved to the end of the room. Together, they watched the room ablaze in a fiery flame, all the way to the broken window completely surrounding the wolves inside.

[Burning: Inflicted 13 damage per second]

[Burning: Inflicted 14 damage, Target dies...]

[Burning: Inflicted 11 damage, Target dies...]

[Stabbing: Inflicted 21 damage, Target dies...]

The beasts were wailing in pain as the walls of fire split in various places. Several wolves managed to break through. However, the smoldering fire that engulfed their bodies had significantly weakened them, and taking advantage of that, all were stabbed and crushed swiftly.

It was a killing spree that certainly gave the XP and survival points he wanted. It appears all went on as planned.

Suddenly, Alan was interrupted by a shocking notification.

[Warning: You have killed enough Grey wolves to anger the Alpha]

[Received a Bonus Quest]

[You received E level quest: Kill The Grey Wolf Alpha]

"A boss creature in round one!?"

Alan knows some rare bonus quest within the three years he has been playing, this one he had never heard before. He glanced at the other apparently, they all also received the same quest.

Soon enough, they heard a distinct howl followed by a dark fur figure, three times the size of an average wolf. There were also a dozen grey wolves that came with the dark creature. It was definitely bad news.

"It's ok. They have to get through the fire barricade before they can reach us." Alan said, trying to calm himself.

However, a second later, he was stunned; the dark Alpha wolf's next howl was followed by a blast of chilling air that instantly put out most of the fire.

"Dammit! Magical creature!"
