1796 Leverage
*BOOM*
The explosion broke the walls of the building. The whole room is exposed. Sirona stood there as she fiddled with the tablet and the room is surrounded by a bunch of puppets.
The youngsters who were torturing the students a while ago were scared shitless and stood there silently.
“Secure the kids. Kill the rest.”
She gave the order to the puppets. But at this exact moment, she sensed something and her facial expressions changed.
“Activate Defensive formation 18. Power output Maximum.”
She looked into the sky and the puppets formed a formation around the building creating a large dome of energy.
A large flaming inferno hit the formation and at that exact moment…
The video was abruptly cut.
.....
Sam became anxious and looked at Lucifer angrily.
“When did this happen?”
“It is happening as we speak.”
“I need to know what’s happening right now. How are my students? How is Sirona?”
Lucifer didn’t speak. He just stared at him with a smile and after a moment he spoke.
“This is actually a trap laid out by Olympian gods. Since they saw how ferociously your students are dealing with their forces one by one, they prompted some of their powerful organizations to gang up and fight against your students.
The average cultivation level of these people is way more than that of your students. But they managed to kill a lot of people. They almost eradicated these organizations.
But of course, these people are ganging up and have no intentions of playing fair. They caught your students and the following scene ensued.
You seemed to be a really good teacher. Your students are strong.”
“I asked you what’s happening now. Who arrived there?
“Come on Sam, you and I both know that I am not going to reveal that information just like that. I already revealed a lot of information. But I must tell you, that inferno is definitely not the end of that scene.
I hope your students and friend will be careful. After all, as you must have already experienced many times, the Olympians don’t play fair.”
Lucifer disappeared from that spot and time went back to normal.
Sam is frustrated. He doesn’t know what happened there. He trusted in Sirona. But as Lucifer said, it is still unclear. The Olympians do not play fair. As his anxiety kept on brewing, it slowly started making its way to anger.
He needs to do something to ensure their safety. If he is unsure of their safety, he wouldn’t be able to sit still. After all, the war is started by him. He cannot carry the death of his own students on his conscience.
As his thoughts started running amok, he took a deep breath and tried to calm down. He knows very well that Lucifer is expecting this reaction from him.
But even if he understood that it is hard to control himself at this moment.
“Sam, are you okay?”
Maya is a bit surprised by Sam’s sudden reaction.
Sam looked at her and said.
“Can you tell me more about this organization of Zeus’ devouts? I will make them my next target. We will get your next child this very same day.”
“That would be some trouble. That is what I wanted to say to you before. This one out of seven is much more recluse than the rest. Even though it is the nearest, you won’t find much activity or resistance towards them.
From what I can see, you took advantage of the war and managed to gain upperhand all this while. But from what little I know about them, they have very few enemies and they might be the strongest of the seven organizations.
If I am right, there shouldn’t be any organizations actively targeting them at this current moment. It will be difficult for you.”
Sam nodded.
He went out immediately to get some information. After a couple of hours, the thing he noticed is that the next city is reinforced to its teeth and he saw the familiar face he saw the day before.
Kumar is in the city. Just from that, he could understand that the city is being guarded by Noah.
Sam felt that the situation is a bit weird. After all, it is an Olympian organization. But Dayus who was constantly paired with the Olympian organizations was not placed here. Instead, a pretty neutral player is placed.
But Sam didn’t think too much. He left the city and brainstormed. He needs to find a way to get some leverage over Olympus and send a message to them and he needs to do it fast.
He believed that even in the worst-case scenario, Sirona could hold on for a very long time. He has a rough idea on what kind of weaponry she could control at her current strength and it would be enough to hold off even a peak-stage Astral Plane cultivator for a really long time.
So it might give him a few hours at most.
In these few hours, even if he defeated the organization and managed to get in touch with Olympian gods and Zeus through some ritual, all he would be able to do is hold a conversation. He wouldn’t have enough leverage to make them stop this madness.
As he thought to this point, he remembered the only leverage that he could use at this moment.
Pride.
The Pride of Zeus.
Zeus is vain and he cannot lose face no matter what. He cannot accept any sort of defeat. Particularly, in hands of Sam.
Sam immediately took off on Harbinger and this time, he didn’t hold back. He traveled at the maximum speed possible and this left a tailwind that destroyed the terrain.
He managed to reach his destination within a few minutes.
He arrived at Shijin’s hiding location. Shijin was idiotic enough to reveal these places to Sam and now Sam decided to use him.
When Shijin saw Sam, he was furious.
“How dare you…”
He wanted to yell at Sam, but his words were abruptly cut.
Sam held him by his throat and spoke.
“I don’t have any patience to play around with you. I want you to do something for me and if you do that, I will guarantee that you will live well, even if your own father wants to kill you.
If you don’t agree to that, I will kill you right now and get what I want every day. But the only difference is that it will take me more time to kill every single person related to you to achieve that.
So, do we have a deal now or not?”
