Chapter 1844 - 1844 White Sand Guard

1844 White Sand Guard

Sam and Ervin just stared at each other.

There are no words between them. There is no interaction, they just stared at each other trying to see through them as much as they can. But neither of them are showing a single weakness.

“You are officially part of the White Sand Guard. It is a special force directly under my command and they have the authority over every other force under the White Sand Coastal region. However, you will not have any real authority.

Your first mission as a soldier is to take the guard with you to the coastal area and take it down.

The White Sand Guard definitely has enough strength to injure every single person within the coastal guard of the Tri Sun Continent.”

Sam nodded and soon he was escorted by someone to a residence, where he was given a new set of clothes, a badge, and a special communication token.

He changed into the clothes before he left the residence. Soon, another attendant came and escorted him back into the headquarters. This time, he was taken to the back of the building where there is a small training ground.

There are a bunch of people wearing similar attires standing in a formation. In front of them stood Ervin with a serious expression.

When Sam arrived, he pointed towards him and spoke.

.....

“This is the person that I told you, guys, about. He will be following you to the coastal area. I already showed you the demonstration video. A similar situation should be happening there. You only need to tackle the stronger opponents on the coastline.

The rest will be taken care of him.

If things are not what they seemed to be and there is any foul play detected. Kill this guy immediately rush back.”

Sam chuckled at this. This is obviously not just some empty threat and Ervin is not afraid to make it right in front of his eyes.

Ervin left after that and the rest of the members looked at Sam and their gazes changed. The captain looked at him calmly, meanwhile, there is one guy who had a blatant look of rage and disdain plastered all over his face.

Sam ignored his gaze and looked at the team. There are forty members in total. The weakest are the Divine Plane Initiation Cultivators, there are a total of fifteen, and five of them are in the Initial Stage of Divine Plane Initiation.

This is kind of a surprise to Sam as he thought the Elite Kill squad would just be full of some powerful people. But it seemed like it is a well-balanced squad.

As he is looking at the team, trying to understand whatever he could from their expressions, the captain spoke.

“To be honest, we don’t really approve of you. The White Sand Guard has a very strict requirement and that is for a person to be at Divine Plane Initiation to join and they will leave after they hit the limits of Divine Plane Pre-transcendence.

Your presence here in itself is completely against the rules and we heard that used some kind of underhanded ways to buy yourself this position.

We don’t know what kind of situation you put Ervin in to make him do this, but that doesn’t really gel well with my team.

So, you better remove any hopes of becoming a proper member here. And let’s keep everything on a need-to-know basis.”

Sam nodded and replied.

“Works for me.”

“Good, then follow us.”

The captain then waved his hand. A large Eagle appeared and he got on it before flying. The rest of the team got similar eagles and flew. The guy who showed the most emotion towards Sam, the guy who is also the weakest of the bunch was the last to leave because he stood back to taunt Sam.”

“Since you managed to worm your way into our team, then you should also have a way to worm yourself to the Coastal line. Try to keep up, if you were left behind, I might mistake you for being foul and kill you right there.”

He flew away as well.

Sam looked at him and shook his head. He didn’t really care much about the provocation, but rather he knew that this guy would constantly push Sam’s buttons the more he let him go. So, Sam has to knock down every one of his tries so that this farce would end faster.

As the team started flying away, Sam didn’t fly, instead, he started running.

The last guy is still looking at Sam and when he saw him running he is stunned, he called out to his team members and pointed out what Sam is doing.

“Guys, look at this idiot. Is he thinking of running all the way there? Is he an idiot?” He started cackling along with his teammates. But at this moment, they suddenly saw a large surge of wind elemental energy under Sam’s feet.

*BOOM*

The explosion wind launched Sam into the air as he zoomed towards the soldiers at the back of the formation of the eagles.

The captain and the rest of the senior members of the team looked back at the commotion and were stunned.

Sam’s body is surging with energy and it almost looked like he is jumping to attack the soldiers that are making fun of him.

The soldier who provoked Sam looked at this advance and didn’t know what Sam is aiming at, but a thought flashed in his mind and he took out a sword and slashed it toward Sam.

Sam frowned at this attack. It has a hint of Divine energy and it came directly at him.

His gaze turned cold.

*BOOM*

Another wind energy explosion happened under his feet and his trajectory changed, he somersaulted over the soldier team and came to the forefront with that momentum, and within no time, he is already in front of the captain, at the lead.

And as he descended, harbinger appeared under his feet, and without even turning around, he looked at the captain and said.

“Please keep up, if you slow down, I might actually think that you are playing foul and trying to betray Ervin.”

As soon as he spoke, Harbinger shot out.

The tailwind left the rest of the team in dust, even though they are at a relatively high altitude.

The captain frowned and his calm mood changed. He looked at the soldier that attacked and asked coldly.

“Reani, what are you trying to do by attacking him? Didn’t you hear Ervin’s orders or are you too full of yourself to follow them properly?”

Reani gulped. He didn’t expect that Sam would be quick and capable enough to dodge his attack. After all, Sam is just an Astral Plane cultivator and Reani has been that cultivator a few months ago.

He is pretty sure that he wouldn’t have been able to dodge that attack. So, he just judged Sam by those standards.

The captain turned around as he saw Sam far away, he is moving at an extreme speed.

He also instructed his eagle to catch up and soon all of them are moving at an extreme speed. They swiftly crossed the city, then a large forest passed through a bunch of towns and villages. But they were all stunned throughout this journey.

Sam has been way too far away from them. He is still within their visible range, but he was in the lead and he maintained that gap consistently throughout.

Harbinger is fast. Its main function is just to travel and it doesn’t have any other metabolic activity and it doesn’t have to recover like the eagles. As long as there is enough energy and the material is durable enough.

Sam waited for a minute after they reached the sea. He looked at them and said.

“It seems like you guys are really not sincere enough, keeping such a distance away, coming so slowly. Don’t tell me, you are being forced to do this?”

Captain frowned and said.

“You better talk carefully. Words can’t be taken back.”

“Wow, it is better that you know this. So, teach this to your fucking subordinates.”

Everyone was stunned as Sam still spoke with that smile and there is an underlying coldness in his voice.

Before the team could react, he turned around and continued.

“Keep up this time. We are almost there and I don’t want this to fail because you guys are too slow.”

As he zoomed forward, this time he let the rest of the team tag along.

As they moved, the soldiers at the back looked at Reani weirdly. Sam dropped the same words that Reani said to this. Indirectly the humiliation of their captain has been brought up by Reani and just from the looks of the vice-captain and the rest of the seniors, he understood that they didn’t like this action of his.

He wanted to redeem himself, as they were thinking, they are finally near the coastal area and when they looked at the forest, everyone is dumbfounded.
