Chapter 1857 Choice
Sam collected the fruits. They are of different sizes of course.
The smallest ones are the size of a large watermelon and the largest ones are almost the size of a seven-year-old child.
He also got fruits of different elemental energies. He stored all of them safely within the divine dimension. After that, he closed all the deals with the Dark Sea Sect, before deciding to ascend to the next stage of this war game.
From what Kartikeya said, they need to finish three war games before reaching the Demi-God Academies. He is done with one of them relatively smoothly.
Before he decided to leave, he wanted to contact the other players at least Arkiv, Kumar and Noah but he was unable to locate them within the planet.
But he was unable to do so. He even took the Dark Sea Sect's help, but they seemed to have disappeared from the planet and went to a different planet within the same realm to deal with their tasks.
He didn't bother anymore and decided to just go with the next step.
He went back to the hidden cave where Kartikeya came looking for them and clicked on his wrist screen.
The surroundings greyed out before the familiar silhouette appeared in front of them.
Kartikeya looked at Sam and smiled.
"You did better than I thought. You are way too fast. Your friends are not even halfway through the task and even they are faster than what we expected from them."
Sam just smiled and said.
"Well, even before the task was announced I was ready to sucker punch the Solar Sect since they worship Olympus, so it kind of helped me.
In a way, it is cheating. But I guess you can call it luck as well."
"I mean, it is not like you knew the task beforehand. So it doesn't matter. Anyway, since you are the first one to come here, I can give you the second task, but before that I will also give you a special privilege."
"Oh, I like being privileged," Sam said jokingly.
Kartikeya just shook his head with a smile slightly and said.
"There are seven options that you could choose for your next round."
As he said this, he waved his hand and seven holographic screens appeared in front of Sam. He read through them and went into deep thought.
"You could pick one of them for yourself and you can pick one for one of the other players."
Sam was surprised by this.
The contents of the seven screens are seven different sets of conditions to clear the second level in this war game. Some of them are difficult and some of them are relatively easy to satisfy and some of them would be exceptionally different for some players.
That is why he was surprised by such a privilege.
"If you had told us about this at the start, I am pretty sure other players would have tried their best to finish their task."
"I doubt they will come faster than you though."
"You do know that you still have your own player in the game right? Your constant cheering and support for me are very heartwarming, but if you are biased against your own player, that would be really bad.
He would be heartbroken."
Kartikeya just chuckled at this. He knew that Sam is just joking.
"So, do you have your pick?"
Sam shook his head. This is the first time he is very much troubled. Along with the set of conditions that they need to fulfill to advance, there is also some information about what kind of conditions they would be thrown into.
The next one is actually a planetary war.
To put it simply, one of the planets that stayed isolated until now seemed to have opened up its wormholes to the rest of the realm which has three dominating powers. They are all invading the planet at the same time.
The wormholes are connected at many spots within the planet and the local forces are now in deep trouble as they are fighting against the incoming enemies. They are outnumbered and they also got caught by surprise.
And to Sam's surprise, the defending race is full of humans while the invading races are not. One of them is a demonic race, one of them is a giant race and finally, the last one is a race of lycans.
Three completely different races against one race.
Sam knew for sure that this one is a lot more chaotic than the sect war.
And the seven options that he had. That is an added bonus.
Sam always manipulating things and right now, he can even manipulate the competition and the players themselves. He is not going to let this one go.
He grinned and finally made a choice.
"I am going to pick this one."
Sam picked his choice.
Kartikeya was surprised. Not because it is the difficult one, but because Sam actually picked the most direct and straightforward one.
The only condition it has is that he needs to participate in the defense of the planet and kill 10,000 invaders of the same level, 2000 invaders level higher.
The numbers are scary compared to the previous target. But this time, the planetary war is not called that just for the sake of it. Three planets are invading one planet.
So, he has three races to choose from and luckily for him, the three races themselves have a lot of forces. It is going to be a buffet for him and an even more fortunate thing is that one of the races, the Lycans are worshippers of Hel while the Giants obviously worship Olympus.
There is no way, he is not going to pick this.
But even with these massive conditions, the remaining six are actually much more complicated.
Sam looked at them and pointed at the last one before saying.
"I would like to give that one to Dayus."
Kartikeya nodded as he looked at the option. He couldn't help but smile at it. Just imagining what Zeus' face would look like after this, is hilarious in more than one way.
Because the option Sam picked for Dayus is that he needs to work for humans and against the three races, but the problem is he needs to infiltrate the three races and get valid intel from all three of them, before giving it to the main factions of humans that are directly opposing them and kill a certain number of targets of all three races, of the same cultivation level and above and the worst part is he also needs to get a commander position. In his leadership, his troops shouldn't have more than 10% death rate.
Sam would have really liked to pick this mission for himself. He has over a hundred ways to approach it and it would have been a good puzzle. But he knew how many handouts Dayus got and it has always been unfair for the other players, for the first time he would like to see what Dayus would do without any handouts and he gets the short end of the stick.
