1866 Surrounded
“How dare you?”
Rodra asked as he looked at Sam angrily.
Sam just looked at him and calmly said.
“The Giants’ territory has stopped attacking for such a long time. It is obvious that they are trying to stabilize their defense.
This is the perfect opportunity for you guys to attack. I have seen almost twenty-four failed missions. Missions that could have been done by a pure brute with no brain, failed in the hands of your ‘efficient’ soldiers.
If these people are under my force… No, I can’t even imagine a scenario people like this would be under my force. I would have wiped them clean or just dismantled my force and lived a life of hermit.”
The whole room turned silent. And some of the people in commanding positions looked at Mitra who just shrugged. The fact that the twenty four missions failed is known to everyone there.
But no one dared to point that out or put the blame of it on anyone. Because all those missions are accomplished by different factions and every time the opposing faction sabotaged it one way or the other.
It is indeed a disgraceful thing.
.....
In fact some of the commanding leaders are opposed to Sam, because he has connections to the western frontier and they don’t want their dirty laundry exposed.
“What the fuck do you know about handling a force? Do you think a hundred percent success rate is expected of an army? There are many factors in play here. How can a brute who has no experience understand that?” Rodra rebuked angrily.
Sam looked Rodra as if he is an idiot. Just those few sentences alone made him understand what kind of person Rodra is.
Not only is he a credit hog, he is not someone who looks at a bigger picture. Because he didn’t even study Sam’s record properly.
If he had, the word brute would have been the last thing that he could think of.
If Rodra knew Sam’s thoughts, he would have been stunned silent. Because Sam is right, he never saw Sam’s full report. All he did was look at Sam’s kill count and came to this conclusion.
Sam looked at the commander and said.
“My presence here is purely voluntary. Since you talked with your senior brother, you know my capabilities and the price to use it.
I don’t care about your internal politics or your war merits. Even if you make me honorary head of your organization or king of your country, I won’t give two shits about it.
So, just let me know if you want to give me a team, if you can’t then let me take the individual assignments and missions you leave out to the mercs.
Either way is fine for me.”
Sam didn’t speak after that. He just looked at the commander waiting for his answer.
The commander sighed and said.
“Alright, we are planning the infiltration of the Giant Occupied territory from many fronts. And our goal is to take the legacies back on by one.
All the Giants are pure-blooded and they have an ability to increase their size for a certain amount of time. And their energy level, as well as strength, are increasing exponentially along with their size in that short span of time.
So, even the Giants at Divine Plane Initiation Initial Stage are able to fight against Middle Stage and Late Stage
Some Peak Divine Plane Initiation Giants are even capable of fighting against Divine Plane Pre-transcendent cultivators. It is very hard for us to deal with them.
According to Ancient records, the legacies that are currently occupied by the Giants have tests left behind by some ancestors. As long as someone enters the legacy grounds and passes all the tests, they could become the owner of the legacy.
And they would have complete control over the legacy ground.
Even Divine Plane Transcendent Cultivators wouldn’t be able to do anything.
Right now, Divine Plane Transcendent cultivators are the leaders on both sides of the war. So, they cannot spare a lot of them.
The plan is for humans to enter these five legacies and occupy the legacy grounds after claiming ownership through the tests.
That is the initial stage of the plan. Once we succeed…”
The commander kept on going with the plan and Sam nodded more and more as he heard.
The plan is quite solid and it is indeed designed properly with a lot of factors in mind. Of course, it is obviously not perfect, but it is still better than just sending people to death.
He went through the plans and finally Sam’s role was given.
“You and Mitra are going to form a two man team. Your job is create chaos and provide proper distraction for the rest of the forces.
Our first target is the Fire city. Even though we are going to attack from all five sides, the fire city is our primary target.
Between Fire city and Water city, there are three villages that are occupied by Giants of Late Stage Divine Plane Initiation Giants. We don’t know exactly how many of them are there, but there are more than three.
Apart from that, there are a bunch of camps established in the surrounding areas of those villages to acquire and explore the forests and resource points. They are trying to use their technology to fortify the area.
You have to create chaos there and attract attention from the Fire City. They should be solely focused on you while we press on sneakily and take over the city.
You will be rewarded like you asked. You will gain all the corpses that are obtained from the battles on all fronts, based on your performance.”
Sam looked at Mitra who is grinning and said.
“Can I go alone? Why should I take this guy along with me?”
“There is a limit to one’s ignorance commander. An Initial stage Divine Plane Initiation cultivator is looking down on a Late Stage Divine Plane Initiation Cultivator. Is there anything more ridiculous than this?
Why are we even tolerating this guy?”
Rodra once again spoke up.
Sam stood and said to Mitra.
“Just follow along. I would rather have you talk shit rather than hear the whiny little bitches moaning as if there is a phantom burning pain in their assholes. I can’t deal with shit like this.”
Sam walked off and he didn’t even glance at Rodra.
After Sam and Mitra left, the remaining members were all assigned various tasks as they discussed further plans.
Rodra was assigned in one of the attack squads of the fire city.
After coming out, Sam looked at Mitra and asked.
“Tell me, you have a beast that you can use.”
“Of course, I do.”
Sam nodded and took out Harbinger before moving in the direction they need to go.
Mitra hurriedly followed him.
As they went on, Sam leisurely stood on Harbinger while making some calculations. After they reached a certain distance, he turned to Mitra and said.
“I narrowed down a location. We are going there first.”
He took out the dimensional drifter and both of them disappeared.
Mitra was stunned as he looked at the drifter.
“Yo, can you give me one of those, it is very handy.”
Sam looked at him and said.
“Even all of your planet combined cannot afford to rent for a couple of days. Be content that you are taking a ride in it.”
“Come on, you said you are a smart guy right? Why don’t make one of those?”
Sam didn’t even know what to say, he just sighed and let me be.
But at this moment, they sensed something at the periphery of their senses.
And they were found out too.
“Two humans spotted. They are mine.”
A giant with fire elemental energy yelled and a large jet of flames came out of nowhere.
The whole forest burned down.
When the flames went away, Sam and Mitra are standing there calmly as they looked at the Giants that are far away.
Two and a half meter tall Giants. Over twenty-five of them are all looking at Sam and Mitra.
“Eight of them are Middle Stage Divine Plane Initiation Giants, the rest are Initial Stage. How do you think we should go? Do you think it would be against unspoken rules if I attack them?”
Mitra asked with a smile.
Sam shook his head and took out a staff.
“I thought you were a sword user.”
“Even I thought you were a fist user. But who knows you use your Saliva more.”
The Giant that burned the forest looked at the two with bright eyes.
“Oy, there is a Late Stage Divine Plane Initiation Cultivator among the two. The one who gets to take his life wins. Only the last hit counts. So, no bitching.”
As he moved along with the remaining seven Middle Stage Giants.
They ignored Sam completely and he looked at the Seventeen Giants that are focused on him.
