Chapter 2127 Directing the Game
Sam is sitting in a large translucent glowing golden sphere. It was precisely the peak of the mountain in the revived pocket dimension.
In front of him, a bunch of screens hovered to give him a detailed view of all the students' activities. Right now, there are thousands of students trying to break the formations that surrounded them.
He is waiting to see who will do it first.
He does have some specific targets in mind. All of them belong to the Olympian academies and specifically the noble league. Their screens are glowing with a slight red border among the cluster of screens.
His eyes drifted to one of the marked targets.
He is Raios. One of the freshman directly under the noble league. He is also part of the first batch of admissions in the Hub. He belongs to a medium level family within the league. His background is nothing to scoff at, but it is not mind-blowingly powerful either.
Which makes him a great fit for what Sam wants to make him do.
Raios looked at the formation intently. He was never really skilled at the art of formations. He does have some basic knowledge to understand how they work, but that is about it. The formation that he is currently in is way too complicated for his pea sized brain.
However, as he tried to grasp his energy flow, for some reason, he felt like he could understand the pattern.
He felt like he could break if he could grasp what that pattern is and he is slowly getting it.
After some trials, he injected his energy into the formation and finally he saw something. Something that Sam named as the dead spot.
Dead spots are something he implemented in each of the formations so that the people he deemed useful will have a way to break the formation.
The dead spot will guide these students and shows them where to attack.
And that's right, attacking is the way to go for them. Because they are way too stupid to break the formation even with Sam's expert guidance.
Even then, Raios didn't know what to do with the dead spot that was right in front of his eyes. He first injected his energy, then he started using spiritual senses, then he tried to manipulate the energy. After some trials, he finally decided that attacking my work.
After all, the task was to break the formation, not to understand and decode it.
He raised his sword and stabbed at that dead spot with lightning energy condensed at the sword's tip.
*BOOM*
With an explosion, a crack appeared on the formation starting from the deadspot he stuck. It extended upward to the top of the dome where the second dead spot is located.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
Seven or eight hits later, the formation finally broke open. Raios stood in the middle of a patch that wasn't bigger than the formation he broke previously. He is surrounded by the glowing golden walls and only one path is available for him to take.
He walked through the path to take a look.
Raios was in back foot. And his attacks couldn't be as consistent as a constant jet of flames feeding the serpent. The serpent's attack is not only consistent, it is also uniform. It is hard to beat.
At that moment, Sam tweaked with the formation just a little bit.
*BANG*
Raios' attack landed on the pillar, but it slipped off its surface, not impacting the pillar as it should. But that wasn't the problem. The swing of the attack was so powerful, that he tripped. He had to balance himself which landed him closer to the wall than he should be.
Since there was also a delay in his attacks because of the slip, the wall increased its width, much faster and wider than he imagined or desired.
*BOOM*
He hurriedly swung his sword at the wall as he moved backward.
It was purely out of instinct as he swung the sword that gave out lightning infused sword ways. Most of them aimed at the wall and very few at the pillar.
*BOOM*
*BOOM*
Explosive sounds occupied the two domes. Raios stood up and swung the sword at the pillar again stopping the expansion. But his mind is completely occupied by the previous incident.
Not because of how close he came to death, but because how the attacks acted.
The sword rays penetrated through the wall. They didn't stop. The impact didn't land on the walls at all. Because it was at edge of the wall connected to the ground, it was a bit hard to notice.
But he knew that his attacks went past the wall and the ground the explosion came from the clash between the sword ray and the ground on the other side.
He looked Auria. Auria gritted his teeth and solely focused on increased his energy output. That slip was a perfect opportunity and he had no intention of wasting it. So, he only focused on increasing the attack on the Pillar.
But that is not the reason for him to not notice the wall's nature. It is because Sam only enabled Raios' attack to pass through.
Now that Raios noticed this, Sam only needed to push the situation a bit more.
And he adjusted the settings of the wall. All of a sudden, the expansion towards Raios' side increased by a large margin.
In that hurry, Raios diverted his sword towards Auria. He ignored the wall in the middle. The sword ray passed through the wall and cut Auria's hands off.
Raios took the chance to reduce the wall's width, when he noticed that Auria is getting back up, he gritted his teeth and attacked him once again.
*SWOOSH*
And Auria is dead.
The pillar and wall disappeared. Raios felt his energy restoring back.
A path opened. However, what he doesn't know is that Sam he captured the last part in a video. He has some use for it.
Raios walked into the path and appeared in the new formation with increased vigor. He finished the first two stages relatively fast. Even if he doesn't get the first place, he still has a great chance at a decent prize.
