The three participants opened their eyes in absolute horror.
A foreign voice in this place is something they never even dreamt of. It is at the absolute bottom of the list of things they could expect. They would expect to die of accidental meteor strike before they could expect this position being leaked.
In that daze and shock, they finally realized that a foreign energy that they have never come across has invaded this space.
*SWOOSH*
A keen of a blade resonated inside. The small space is invaded with shadows and the three of them lost their lives.
After two minutes.
At the edge of the pocket dimension that is at an equal distance from the fire pit Sam created and the location of the skeletal dog. There are no signs of people or undead creatures in sight. In that plain sight...
*RUMBLE*
*BOOM*
An explosion occurred throwing tons of soil into the air, revealing a huge crater within which Sam and Crow are sitting.
Crow's body has several black patches all over. He is weak and powerless. If Sam wanted to kill him, he wouldn't even be able to resist. Not even for a second.
"What is happening to me?"
Crow asked weakly.
Sam who is also panting heavily, took a shot of liquid energy and placed his hands on Crow.
"Its shadow energy." He started absorbing the shadow energy that is trying to corrode Crow's body.
Crow felt a bit of relief. Sam made him drink a shot of liquid energy and started guiding it gently to help him digest it.
Crow who gained some energy, spoke.
"What the hell happened? One second I was tangled with that bony worm and the next we were in that dark space, before I knew it, we are here in this crater, what the heck happened?"
"Three candidates from Iktomi academy. Their team... let's just say they have a distinct set of abilities that would work well with moves like this.
One of them can create a sub-space, isolating an area from the existing spatial fabric. That sub-space cannot be detected with regular methods, unless it is impacting our current space. The second one has a constitution that helps him control gravity.
An earth elemental constitution, very rare.
The third one is an expert in formations and inscriptions. He has an affinity to interact with multiple elements.
They created a subspace underground here. My markers couldn't find them. The third one created a massive energy siphon, he drew huge amounts of death energy into that space and converted it into spatial energy and earth elemental energy.
He also created a special spatial gate that allowed the third one to interact with the formation nodes to create the gravitational and earth elemental attacks that we experienced.
They used the same method to send skeletal rat to us."
"Then how did you kill them? How did you even detect them?"
He asked, but Sam didn't answer. He just healed Crow and both of them went back to their rendezvous.
Crow stood up and stretched his body.
Both of them disappeared from the spot.
Far from there, a Hel academy student is currently levitating in air while looking at a spot from various angles. After a few more glances he is satisfied and muttered to himself.
"Now, I just need to attract a few idiots to fall into the trap."
He flew in a certain direction and noticed someone who is charging in his direction. His eyes lit up and got his spell ready. Lightning conjured in his arms and in the sky at the same time.
A lightning bolt was thrown at the other party.
Crow looked at the lightning coming at him and grinned. He swung his daggers and stuck the bolt down, while still moving towards his new opponent. The lightning mage is more than happy to oblige this opponent.
He moved farther, happy that the opponent is so easy to trick and be lured towards the trap.
The whole are is surrounded with lightning bolts. Crow is at his fastest as he blocked and dodged the attacks while slashing at his opponent. He cut through several lightning bolts directly and kept the opponent on his toes.
Even though they are fighting under the lightning clouds, the opponent didn't have any advantage that he should have as a mage. He had to be on a constant run. Lightning known for its quick attacks wasn't able to catch Crow even one time.
There is not a single clean hit.
"FUCK IT."
The lightning mage screamed and his eyes transformed. They glowed with an eerie silver light. The moment he locked those eyes with Crow's, the latter has stopped in his tracks for just a moment. It wasn't even a fraction of a second, but that was enough for him to get caught.
*BAM*
The lightning stuck cleanly, Crow felt all his muscles go rigid. He lost his control over his flight, as he started falling down.
The opponent waved his hand and an attack blew Crow in a certain direction. After crossing a few meters, he disappeared mid-air.
The opponent looked at the spot where Crow disappeared with a sense of glee, his eyes glowed with that silver light as he looked in that direction.
However, he didn't see what he wanted to see. Because the scenery did not change in front of it. It is same before and after. He hurriedly flew in that direction and extended his hand.
He felt something solid. He was relieved about it, because that should be the formation that he just placed, an illusion formation that he wanted to use as a trap. He tried to see the inside of the formation, but he failed.
He became cautious. Instincts screamed that something is wrong. But he was unwilling.
It is his formation, his trap, he doesn't believe that he is being outplayed. He conjured lightning and was about to break through, at that moment...
*SWOOSH*
Crow appeared from the side and slashed on his back from shoulder to hip before stabbing a dagger into his side.
He then kicked the opponent.
The solid wall that he felt until now.. couldn't be felt anymore. The opponent went through the barrier and fell into what looked like a fighting pit. Two Boar skeletons are clashing against each other. One of them ran through the other and kept on dashing towards the lighting mage.
He stepped back, but the barrier blocked him.
Before he knew it, the boar impaled its tusks into his chest and dragged him around. It even crashed against the regenerated boar skeleton, which impaled its own tusks into the mage's body. Which resulted in a tug of war that tore him apart.
