Chapter 134: [One Step at a Time!]

"Mother?" Anna asked as she looked at me before she turned to Leena.

Leena, who was simply chewing the bread, looked at me for a few moments before asking,

"Why do you wanna know?"

"It's important," I mentioned before taking a sip from the tea.

"How important?" Leena asked again.

"High chance it involves her life and death... probably," I answered as I gave it a bit of thought.

"Hmmm... well. She is currently in a safe place," Leena spoke as she began eating the rest of the bread. Her mood seemed to turn a little sour.

'Well, she is probably thinking that I am trying to get closer to her mother, just like every other person who approached her,' I sighed as I realised that I might have phrased it wrong.

"Well. What's going to happen in this town later is going to involve the lives of everyone present here. I am trying to analyse how many should I save and how many I should I leave," I added as I took a bite of the bread.

Leena and Anna turned to me, with their expressions turning a bit better before they added,

"Well. If you put it that way... then... Our mother is really in a safe place. As long as we are alive, she would live too. Will that be enough?"

'Hmmm... well, that doesn't break any of the conditions so,' I recalled through the mission once again before nodding at them.

"If that's the case, then it's fine. Though if she is going to pop out of nowhere in between the chaos that is about to happen, please tell me," I pointed at that and both of them nodded.

'Well, that takes care of one thing,' I thought as I got up and stretched a little.

"I will be leaving now. Got a lot of things to deal with," I muttered as I walked outside the shop, casually strolling through the streets as I met Mrs. Thompson and a couple of other familiar faces.

Reaching the gate, I greeted Herath, who seemed as busy as ever. And then, walking into the forest, I slowly reached the place where Nvida and Trisha were.

Just like the first time, Yemir used my arrays to trap Trisha while Nvida glared at me with intense hatred.

-Click!

A single click of my finger while I manipulated my mana round was able to stop his attacks from even taking form.

Sadly, it could work on only him, since every array user has their own special signature that is like a heart to their work. It's like a master key to all their arrays... and I happen to have it now.

His eyes widened as he realised what had just happened. He wasn't smiling anymore, as he took a step back in fear.

"How?!..." he asked as his voice was breaking.

"Nothing too special. Though... would you like to know about... the way to remove that cursed array without any harm to anyone?" I asked with a smile more cunning that he was making.

-Whoosh!

-Whoosh!

-Whoosh!

-Whoosh!

-Whoosh!

The rest of the dark mages came in between us with a fear filled expression. Protecting Yemir, the purple-haired mage asked,

"Hey freak. You all right?"

Though Yemir just stayed silent as he looked at me. His eyes seemed to be questioning the validation of things.

"I want something in return, of course. I will break you free from that things that are haunting you for ages," I assured him, and it turned the faces of those dark mages even more ugly.

"Brat. Don't listen to him... we have a great goal... don't forget what the leader has done for all of us," that purple mage was losing hope slowly.

Though that made me realise something...

"Ah! You guys don't have to worry. I am going to open the Inverse realm myself soon. So hopefully we won't have to stand against each other... that should be fine, no?" I spoke with a bright smile.
