Chapter 195: Conquer Duskin Tribe!

"I am Logan, chieftain of the Silvermane tribe!" His voice thundered through the air, sending a chill down Surshen's spine. Logan's cold gaze pierced through Surshen, making him feel as though he were trapped in a winter storm.

Surshen struggled to maintain his composure. ''Chieftain of the Silvermane Tribe?'' The very name sent ripples of fear through him. Why would such a powerful figure set foot in their modest Duskin Tribe? The intensity of Logan's presence felt almost suffocating.

Kule stood nearby, equally shaken. The sheer force radiating from Logan was overwhelming, leaving them both in awe. ''What kind of strength does this young chieftain possess?'' Kule thought, his heart racing.

Surshen finally found his voice, though it trembled slightly. "Silvermane Chieftain... sir, why do you wish to annex our Duskin? Can't we find a way to coexist peacefully?" He forced the words out, a mixture of anger and desperation boiling beneath the surface. Yet, he held back, acutely aware of the danger Logan posed.

His thoughts turned to Habak, their chief who had been ruthlessly incapacitated. Just thinking about it sent a wave of dread coursing through him. ''I can't end up like him, broken and helpless.'' Habak's fate was a grim reminder of the chieftain's might, and Surshen had no desire to join him in suffering.

Logan's eyes narrowed, his voice dripping with disdain. "Live in peace? Your tribe actively sought to join the alliance against the Silvermane. Is that your idea of peace?" His words hung in the air, heavy with accusation.

Surshen's heart sank. ''They know.'' The Silvermane Tribe was aware of the plot against them. But what could he say now? Was it too late to turn back? He could feel the weight of Logan's gaze pressing down on him, and the realization that time was running out gnawed at him.

Logan continued, his tone now icy and authoritative. "Which of you three stands against the merger of the Duskin tribe into the Silvermane? Speak now." His eyes flicked over the group, but it was clear that the primary target of his scrutiny was Surshen.

"Do you have anything else to say?" Logan's voice was a cold whisper, yet it echoed with authority as he stood tall, radiating confidence.

Surshen, shaken and on his knees, stammered, "Ahem... Chief, I agree. The Duskin Tribe can join the Silvermane Tribe!" He bowed his head, realizing the futility of resistance. The alliance he once considered had lost its allure in the face of Logan's overwhelming power.

"Is that so?" Logan regarded him with a calculating gaze, recognizing the shift in allegiance.

Meanwhile, Mamuti, Surshen's nephew, stood with a mixture of shock and fury, eyes blazing as he looked at Kule and his Fifth Uncle. "You... you can't just give up like this!" he shouted, his youthful passion igniting a flicker of hope in the dim atmosphere.

Logan cast an indifferent glance at the boy. The sight of Mamuti's defiance almost amused him. Surshen quickly turned to Mamuti, a blend of concern and guilt on his face. "Listen, kid," he said, lowering his voice. "We have no choice but to align ourselves with the strong. It's about survival."

Kule chimed in, eager to reinforce their stance. "That's right, Mamuti. If we resist, we're only courting our own destruction!"

Logan couldn't suppress a smirk. He recognized the performance unfolding before him. "Your nephew has a fire in him," he thought. Yet, he understood that such betrayal, especially from family, was simply a byproduct of power dynamics. "My enemy is my hero," he mused, reflecting on the inevitable nature of alliances forged in fear.

The atmosphere shifted as Surshen's resentment began to fade, replaced by a reluctant acceptance of their new reality. Despite the bitter taste of betrayal, he now recognized the strength of the Silvermane Tribe and that survival, however painful, might be the only path forward.
