Chapter 913: Rain And Pill Refinement

"If I use this and then this…." Rain pursed her lips. She had somehow found her way into a sect after traveling through a forest. Some old lady spotted her and whisked her away. Since she felt no hostility from the old lady, Rain decided to just go with the flow, but now she found herself in a sect called the Heavenly Pill Sect that made pills.

Right now, she is currently trying to make her first pill. The old lady said she was a talent that had not been seen in thousands of years in pill refinement, but Rain had no idea what she was supposed to think about this since the old lady had never even seen her refine pills. On top of that, she had never refined them before in her entire life!

"Hey, old lady, is this right?" Rain asked as she looked up at the old lady who was hovering over her shoulder.

"Little Rain, how many times do I need to tell you to call me master!" The old lady huffed. Her new disciple was so rude!

"Ah right… then Master, is this right?" Rain restated her question. She had no idea what she was doing. This master of hers just handed her a jade slip and said: try to refine the pill in the recipe.

So now here she was. Trying to do something she had never done before.

"Oh? Not going to attempt it first before asking for help?" Rain's new master asked.

"Why would I attempt anything without asking questions? People who attempt things that have been done before but do not know how to do it themselves are just idiots. That is an accident waiting to happen. It is not like they are inventing something for the first time." Rain could understand if this had never been done before, then experimenting and trying things on your own was something that needed to be done. But since the wheel was already created and you're just learning how to make it, there was no reason not to ask.

"You are very enlightened for such a young girl." Rain's new master nodded her head in approval. But Rain couldn't only force a smile. She was only twenty years old! Yes, just twenty years old! If anyone asked, she would say she was twenty. But when she thought about it, her current age was still considered young for immortals.

"It is not being enlightened, Master, it is just plain common sense. And anyone who does otherwise is an idio…"

*Boom!*

The wall to the refinement room they were in exploded, and a young man who was sitting in front of a now destroyed cauldron with his hair in disarray and black soot filled face stared blankly at the destruction in front of him. "What happened!? I followed everything perfectly!"

"As I was saying, anyone who does not ask for help when they can get it is just an idiot. While there is a path for everyone to take along any route of cultivation, that doesn't mean one can not ask for help when they are at a roadblock, and just trying things willy nilly without thinking of what will happen beforehand will result in... well, what we see behind curtain number one." Rain replied as she pointed to the young man in the other room.

Rain's master stared at her new disciple before suddenly letting out a loud laugh. "Hahaha! You are right! But you see, sometimes pride gets in the way of one's rational thinking."

"It is good to have pride, but too much pride will result in roadblocks that you will not be able to jump over due to your own stubbornness, which will result in being stuck at one's current level. Anyway, I need to start over since my ingredients are now ruined, not to mention the entire pill room…." Rain was never one to sit around and try to do things that she did not understand if she could get help along the way. She had pride, but that pride only extended to the things she could accomplish even if she had to gain the knowledge from someone else. As such, she was willing to ask questions and learn since, like her sister Angelica says: knowledge is one's greatest power.

Rain's new master nodded her head. She was liking this girl more and more! She had not seen her actually refine pills yet, but when she laid eyes on the girl as she slowly walked through the forest leisurely, it was like a bolt of lightning struck her. She felt that this girl would amount to many different things. And she wanted to be the one who could proudly say she found such a talent!

"Then master, can we move to a new room? One without people around it in case they blow up the room again?" Rain asked.

"Yes, let's go to the second floor." Rain's new master answered. Rain stood up and dusted herself off before turning and walking away. However, she did stop and looked at the young man, who looked a mess, and waved her hand. The young man who was still staring at his broken cauldron suddenly felt a wind pass by him, and before he knew what happened, everything, including the room he was in, was returned to new.

As Rain walked out of the room, her master stopped and peered through the wall. She had felt a strange power just now, so she was curious as to what had happened. But what she saw was the room they were in, as if nothing had happened at all. Her eyes widened as she turned to look at her new disciple, who was walking at her side with a neutral expression as if nothing had happened at all. While she was curious as to what happened, she did not ask anything since her disciple was not saying anything. She would just wait until her disciple opened up to her.
