Chapter 922: Chosen Kana

"I want to challenge someone!" A young man suddenly shouted. The sect master looked at the young man and smiled.

"Chosen Huo Zan, who would you like to challenge?" The sect master asked.

"The lizard girl! How is someone who just joined the sect allowed to become the disciple of a high elder when we chosen all do not even have masters yet?" Chosen Huo Zan asked.

Kana looked at the young man and tilted her head. She could figure that chosen has a high status in the sect but if they were not taken in by a master that only meant one thing. "Isn't it because you suck?"

"Pfft!" Yu Ling couldn't hold in her laughter as she laughed out loud. She was in no way worried about losing her disciple since, after all, it was her disciple who was more powerful than the sect master himself.

"You!" Chosen Huo Zan pointed his finger at Kana, wanting to say something, but he had no words! There were many chosen in the sect, but that was only because they were talented, but most would not progress past the point that they were at. But this was because they did not have a master to guide them all the time either. But the elders in this sect were biased. Just because you are a chosen did not mean you would get a master!

"Yes, I am me. Why are you saying silly things? Anyway, you want to challenge me, right? I accept, but you first need to make it up on stage." Kana smiled as she released a bit of her aura and directed it directly at this Chosen Huo Zan.

Everyone watched as the Chosen Huo Zan suddenly collapsed onto the ground, unable to move and gasping for air. They all turned toward Kana with a bit of fear in their eyes. They did not understand what was going on, but it seemed the cause of this was the lizard girl on stage or…. "Yu Ling, control your disciple. If Chosen Huo Zan takes any more, he will die!" The old man yelled out. He knew how strong Kana's aura was, so he knew someone like Chosen Huo Zan, who was at the peak of the immortal king realm, would not be able to handle it any better than he could!

"Huh? He was the one who issued the challenge, and my dear disciple is just asking him to make it on stage. What does him having the inability to even stand in front of my disciple have to do with me? If he dies from this bit of pressure, then why was he made a chosen in the first place?" Yu Ling replied with a snort.

The old man gripped his fists and then looked at the sect leader, who picked up his teacup and took a sip. He was blatantly ignoring the situation since he did not want to get on Kana's bad side. He wanted to take her daughter in as his disciple, so he had to be on good terms with her! In other words, as long as she was not massacring the entire sect, he did not care if a disciple or two died. Plus, he thought that Elder Ling's words made a lot of sense. If he can't take this bit of pressure, then what was the point of making him a chosen?

"Now that I think about it. Why are there chosen who do not have masters?" Kana asked. She found it funny. If they have this kind of thing all the time, can they not get a master easily?

"Because chosen can only challenge disciples to be by those taken in by high elders and the sect leader." Yu Ling answered.

"Oh…. So, in other words, he sucks." Kana nodded her head in understanding. Yu Ling giggled and nodded her head. It was true. Most of the people here were not very good, and those who were were already picked up by the other elders. And it was based on the elder's taste on whether they could become a disciple of someone else or not. An elder also had the right to reject the person who won the challenge if they so wished. This whole process was just to try to prove oneself and nothing more.

Kana finally let up her pressure when Chosen Huo Zan began frothing at the mouth. She pursed her lips and went to stand next to Yu Ling once more. "Master, he seems to be too weak. You shouldn't pick him."

"Pfft! Hahaha! That is true. Sect master, I think we need to demote Chosen Huo Zan. He is unable to take even a small portion of my disciple's pressure." Yu Ling did not like CHosen Huo Zan because he always bothered her to become her disciple. She did not know why he was so adamant about her being his master, but she did not wish to have anyone as a disciple until now when she met kana. Plus, she had been hiding her true looks this entire time. How could she bring a man of all people onto her mountain as a disciple when she was hiding her identity? It would just cause her more problems than she wanted to deal with.

"Mmm… What Elder Ling said is right. As of now, Chosen Huo Zan will be demoted back to being an inner sect disciple once more. And Kana will now become a Chosen within the sect." The sect master announced, causing an uproar in the crowd. It was unprecedented that such a thing would happen. In all of the sect's history, not a single chosen had ever been demoted before until now.

"Sect master, I think this is a bit hasty, is it not? Chosen Huo Zan is still stronger than most of the other chosen if he is stripped of his title…." The old man would go against Kana and Yu Ling no matter what!
