“You won’t escape!” Seeing Yaeger dart away like a rabbit on the run, Hank grabbed Doug with one hand, his feet barely touching the ground as he propelled himself forward in pursuit.

The nearly 200-pound Doug felt no heavier than a pillow in Hank’s grasp.

Ahead of them, Yaeger smirked mockingly, her foot slamming into the ground as she accelerated even more. For a moment, she seemed like a blazing red comet streaking through the darkness, her speed almost unreal.1

Hank gritted his teeth and pushed himself harder, closing the distance between them. Under the dim glow of streetlights, the chase between red and yellow had officially begun.

“Why are you chasing me?” Yaeger called out casually as Hank closed in.

“To end your pathetic life!” Hank and Doug shouted in perfect unison.

“Oh, you want me to be your wife?” Yaeger replied, feigning naivety.

While Hank hesitated in confusion, Yaeger suddenly burst forward, widening the gap between them in the blink of an eye, like a red sports car leaving its rivals in the dust.

“Don’t think you can get away!” Hank growled, surging forward with renewed determination.

The red and yellow streaked through the streets so quickly that one might imagine intense Eurobeat music playing in the background. To an outsider, it would have looked like an impromptu street race.

After a thrilling chase that spanned several minutes, the two finally arrived at their destination. The screeching of shoes against the ground and the faint scent of burnt rubber hung in the air.

Yaeger came to a halt, turning around slowly. Behind her lay an overgrown patch of forest, and not far away, a scrapyard’s parking lot loomed in the shadows.

“Done running?” Hank stopped as well, his stance wary and ready.

During the chase, Hank had already noticed just how fast this woman was—she could move at least 80% of his full speed. If it weren’t for the 200-pound burden of Doug slowing him down, Hank was confident he could have caught up easily.

After all, no matter how quick she was, she was still just a Master. And he was just shy of reaching Grandmaster level.

‘I thought there might be an ambush, but it doesn’t seem like it. Why would she lead us here? What’s her plan?’ Hank scanned his surroundings cautiously as he set Doug down.

“B̲i̲t̲c̲h̲, do you even remember me?” Doug snarled at Yaeger as he steadied himself.

“I don’t recall meeting such an ugly man before. Care to remind me of your name?” Yaeger asked coolly.

“You!” Doug sputtered, his rage boiling so fiercely it was almost visible.

“You’re quite confident. Do your parents know about this?” Yaeger asked with a mix of amusement and disbelief. It was akin to a middle schooler lecturing a seasoned physics professor about Newton’s laws and the basics of pressure dynamics.

And to top it off, they’d even question the professor’s competence. It was utterly ridiculous.

“Heh, enjoy your last few seconds to talk while you can,” Hank sneered, clenching his fists as a fierce aura radiated from his body.

Even though his opponent was weaker, Hank had no intention of holding back.

‘Even a lion uses all its strength to hunt a rabbit!’

“Fine. Since you’re so confident, I’ll let you take your three strikes first,” Yaeger said nonchalantly, as though Hank’s challenge wasn’t worth her concern. Her casual demeanor only served to infuriate Hank further.

"Good, very good! I, Hank, have seen much in this world, but this is the first time anyone has dared to disrespect me to this extent. Well done, woman!" As he spoke, the overwhelming aura of a Half-Step Grandmaster surged like a violent hurricane, shaking the air around them.

Doug, standing near Hank, instinctively stumbled back a few steps, his face pale with fear. The same childhood friend he used to play in the mud with had now become this powerful.

Meanwhile, Doug had only managed to rise to the position of leader for the organization’s Jinxi Province branch. Despite his apparent affluence, he was little more than a puppet.

Now, with his hands crippled, he had fallen even further—from a puppet to a completely useless being. For a brief moment, Doug was overwhelmed by a swirl of complex emotions and mental anguish.

But the thought of his childhood friend about to exact his revenge for him quickly replaced those feelings with exhilaration. The intoxicating thrill of revenge surged within him, almost overwhelming his senses.

"Come," Yaeger said calmly, stepping forward with her left foot while raising her right hand in a gesture of invitation, her movements exuding effortless grace. The gesture, simple yet casual, was deeply insulting.

As a seasoned Martial Artist who had endured countless battles and learned the importance of composure, Hank refused to let such a minor gesture provoke him. With a single step forward, Hank’s immense power cracked the concrete beneath his feet.

In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a streak of yellow lightning, rushing toward his target.

"Earth Shatter!" Hank roared as he closed the distance in an instant, his massive fist generating a whirlwind of force aimed directly at Yaeger’s head.

As the devastating fist hurtled toward her head, Yaeger remained unfazed. With an indifferent smile, she gracefully stepped aside, effortlessly dodging the ferocious strike. "The first strike," she said nonchalantly, her voice calm and steady.

Before she could finish her sentence, a wave of violent killing intent swept over the area, suffocating the atmosphere.

"You’ve fallen for it, woman! This is my real killing blow!" Hank shouted, his voice brimming with malicious triumph. Hank didn’t pause after his initial strike. Spinning on his heel, he spread his arms wide and charged toward her like a human whirlwind.

At that moment, with Yaeger seemingly defenseless, it appeared as though she was in grave peril!
