Masaki didn't have too many responsibilities outside of handling Reina's training regiment and teaching her so she decided to take over the management of the apartment building. She already had the customer service and management experience from the Kurosaki Clinic, she might as well put them to good use and keep herself busy.
She originally wanted to do it for free since her housing and living expenses were completely covered, but Reina wouldn't hear it and forced her to take a cut of the income as payment. She could eventually only reluctantly agree.
Managing the apartment complex also helped her keep her mind occupied which was good, because it was becoming harder and harder to not see her family for so long even if she was well updated on how their lives were going. Just two more years she kept reminding herself.Diiscover new stories at nove/lbin(.)c/om
Reina had already gotten the beyond the basics of Bringer Light and wasn't only able to jump higher and move faster now, but was even able to use it to stand on water or on the air. Her physique had also improved allowing her to maintain her Bringer Light and sceptre for longer. Masaki had also been drilling combat strategy into her head focused on the way her skills worked.
As for their company Isshoni and it's operating system they had just managed to surpass Windows in consumer base making them the most popular operating system for consumers and businesses weren't far behind. The development team had grown so large and was now managed well enough to where she could completely focus on the CEO duties and guiding the company.
A good secretary also helped organise everything for her better leaving her more time to train. If she kept up with streamlining the company and development it wouldn't be much longer before she could step down as CEO and simply remain as the owner only stepping in at times where things were moving in a wrong direction.
Due to how advanced and complete the operating system was in the beginning they had opted not to go public or look for outside financing meaning she will still the solitary owner six years later.
There was more good news in that they were finally about to convince their father to retire now that he was nearly 60 freeing him up to spend time with his wife and daughter. It took him a while, but eventually he was able to start enjoying his time without having to feel responsible. Their retirement funds were set and his daughter was the CEO of a highly successful company so he had almost nothing to worry about anymore.
Their mom was happy, nothing too much had changed for her. However the lives of the two most important people to her were going well which was enough for her to be happy. Being able to spend more time with her husband and daughter was just another perk.
Recently Masaki had even started regaining access to her former powers for the most part allowing her to use [Blut Vene] for her defence and her [Heilig Bogen] that allowed her to fire her spiritual arrow again. This had her very excited as she had felt lost ever since she lost her powers.
She had been trained on them for as long as she could remember and not having them felt like a piece of her was missing. They might not have come back to the way it used to be yet, but she was at least able to fight back again weak Hollow again which was already more than she had dared to hope for.
At the same time though there was a slightly uncomfortable feeling that grew stronger while she was using her powers. As if it was becoming difficult to control the powers the way she used to which had never happened to her before. She hadn't brought this up to Reina and Hisashi yet as she was worried about what it might be.

Hisashi had managed to break through to the point where he assumed his combat effectiveness was probably either almost at or just at the bare minimum to fight a lieutenant and would be able to match most Gillian despite not having become one yet. It should be easy to gobble up a lot of Gillian as soon as he transformed.
His skills were making up for a lot of the difference as [Blut] boosted was able to boost his offence and defence a lot using his spirit power to supercharge them and [Energy Blade] gave him the ability to fire off large blasts of energy which he didn't really have access to before he got it.
He really felt bad about [Transcribe] though as he felt it was a skill with great potential, but there wasn't all that much to be gained from the memories of basic Hollow or regular human criminals and those were his only available targets right now. He couldn't wait to fight some higher ranked Hollow such as Adjuchas and above where they gain consciousness and might actually have some memories of good skills they practiced.
As for Shinigami, it's still best not to mess with them. Unlike Hollow they are too coordinated and fighting one even if he doesn't kill them is like kicking an ant's nest. He also isn't sure if he can use things reliant on Shinigami spirit power with his Hollow spirit power if it isn't provided and modified by his system. Otherwise using it to learn various Kido techniques would be amazing.
