Later, Nakamura Shuji, an employee of Nichia Chemical Industry, noticed the research results of Akasaki's mentor and apprentice. Following the research direction of the master and apprentice, he finally produced a high-brightness blue LED.
The invention of blue light-emitting diodes has been hailed as "the second lighting revolution after Edison". The invention of the blue LED has enabled humans to gather LEDs that emit three primary colors of light, and can use LEDs to produce bright enough white light.
