Chapter 5 Dream Awakening

"Who are you?"

The middle-aged man asked in a deep voice to mask his panic which he failed miserably at. For some reason, Legolas through the powers of this grey world was able to read the emotions of this middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man's face was covered in the grey shadows, but this did not obscure Legolas's vision, he could see him clearly.

From the loose cotton clothes that this middle-aged man wore, Legolas could see that he was a desert man and he knew that he was a Grade D superhuman.

Legolas was shocked. "I summoned a Grade D superhuman so effortlessly?"

"What exactly is this grey world?" He wondered.

On receiving no reply, the middle-aged desert-man remained tensed up as he tried to pry through the veils of the shadows to see who summoned him to this strange world to no avail.

He tried to activate his superpowers but he was suppressed firmly.

Instead of answering the middle-aged man, Legolas kept quiet as he tried to process everything that was happening. He already had a few theories in his head but he found it extremely hard to accept them.

Amid his thinking, another of the dark orb-shaped objects started glowing. Legolas was surprised to see no reaction from the desert man.

"Wait, he can't see past the grey shadows like me?"

After discovering this, Legolas became a bit more unbridled. While obscured by the grey shadows, Legolas secretly touched the 2nd glowing orb-shaped object.

Bzzz!

Another person was summoned, this time a beautiful lady.

"Hey, where am I?"

Her loud feminine voice startled the middle-aged desert man who finally turned to see her. He kept his silence and watched attentively as the lady panicked.

Legolas watched this young lady silently. "She already awakened the super gene but is gradeless, she doesn't have a main class yet either".

"From her clothing, she looks royalty".

As Legolas watched his 2 summons, countless gears moved in his head. Curiosity bred imaginations, in this short time, Legolas already came up with a crazy idea after playing with the powers of this grey world a bit.

"Create chair…, no, throne".

Once Legolas thought of this, the grey world stirred subtly as a throne was created out of nowhere.

Instinctively, Legolas cracked his head left and right before sitting majestically on the throne. At this moment, he was like a Demon God who spent a millennium in a prison but finally broke out and reclaimed his throne.

"Create round table and 2 chairs".

Once Legolas thought of it, a majestic round table like those used by Arthur and his knights appeared accompanied by 2 chairs.

By now, the beautiful lady and the middle-aged desert man already had their own ideas about what was happening. They obediently sat on the 2 chairs.

"You can call me…, the Hermit". Legolas spoke in an ancient voice, he learned that he could also use the shadows to modify his voice.

As soon as Legolas said this, the middle-aged man and lady felt goosebumps due to his voice and the current setting. Legolas's small stunt was so successful that it could even leave the most veteran charlatans blushing in shame.

On noticing him keep silent while staring, the middle-aged desert-man got the clue and spoke first. "I will be called…, the Emperor".

His first intention was to mention the World since the mysterious man in the shadows already started the tarot card trend, but he thought that to be too pretentious which was why he relented to choosing the Emperor tarot card.

Once he spoke, the beautiful lady finally got the clue. "Oh, I'll be the Star".

Legolas nodded his head softly to indicate approval as even more ideas already filled his head. "I just woke up from a millennium-long slumber".

"The purpose of this gathering will be exposed in our next meeting".

"For now, I will let the both of you, the Star and the Emperor leave".

"The next gathering time will be 2 weeks from now".

"Understood, Lord…"

"The Hermit".

The desert man took his correction instantly. "Understood, Lord Hermit".

Once he willed to leave, Legolas felt it and he let the desert-man leave. The beautiful lady curtseyed with a nervous smile before leaving.

Once the 2-summons left, Legolas heaved a sigh of relief, he almost suffocated already from all the acting. "Phew…, I survived".

Instantly after he sighed in relief, a voice scoffed, this was when Legolas remembered the presence of the evil Elementalist spirit.

Legolas turned to look at this evil spirit and was dumbfounded, he finally understood the reason for most of his 2 summons' reactions.

An unknown powerful figure summoning you against your will was spooky to anyone, but neither of the 2 had an idea of how strong he was. At least this was what Legolas thought until he remembered the presence of the spirit.

The spirit may be damaged and extremely weak but it still belonged to a powerful Elementalist. The grey shadows protected Legolas from its aura but the same could not be said about the 2 human summons.

Both of them had to bask in such a horrifying aura. If such a spirit was the subordinate, then their imaginations would surely run wild on his real strength.

"Muahahaha!" Legolas laughed his ass out again. "You helped me this time lol".

After laughing to his fill, Legolas was about to explore the grey world more and interrogate the evil Elementalist but he soon remembered something.

"Sh*t, today is the day of the Dream Awakening".

Without hesitation, he left the grey world.

After leaving the grey world and returning to his dormitory, Legolas found out that a grey apple was now tattooed on his wrist.

He guessed that this was his way to return to the grey world.

Legolas was still fascinated by this Special Developer Package but he left thinking about it for later. After 2 years of study in the Summoner Academy, today was the day for him to finally awaken his beast affinity.

He slept so that he could wake up fresh in the morning.

When morning came, all the 2nd year students of the academy gathered before their beast instructor. The beast instructor led them all to the dream-walk machine where they would be stimulated to awaken their beast affinities.

The 2nd year was when they'll awaken their beast affinities, while the 5th year was when they'll finally contract their first summoned beast.

Like the other students, Legolas soon laid down on the machine. In no time, he fell asleep and saw himself in a dream where he saw gems of different colors floating in the starry sky.

The different gems represented different beast affinities. Red gems represented beasts with fire affinities, blue to those with water affinities, and so on.

Students were supposed to be half-lucid during the dream awakening, but for some reason, Legolas was completely lucid.

In the game, summoners could awaken their beast affinities through selection. Now, Legolas was presented with a similar option.

In this lucid state, he could choose any beast affinity that he wanted, unlike the other students whose choices were random. "Damn, this is awesome".

Straightforward beast affinities like red for fire were the best, taking this path was like climbing a straight pole unlike taking neutral beast affinities whose progression path was like climbing a tree with many branches.

After thinking a bit, Legolas choosed a gem that was mixed with many colors, a neutral gem.
