Chapter 169 The Wolf War [1]

Today was just like any other day in Conan's Wolf territory.

Activities went on like usual as soon as the golden rays of the sun illuminated the expansive hills. Under the leadership of their Wolf Commanders, the scout wolf packs arranged themselves into squads before going outside the territory.

Apart from Conan's penchant for bullying and preying on weaker wolf packs, his territory also faced threats that needed the scouts' abilities.

Conan's Wolf territory was not the only wolf territory in the region.

Though the others were far, there were other Wolf territories and they were all more or less hostile towards each other. The scouts were in charge of looking out in case another big Wolf pack intended to invade their territory.

Apart from other Wolves, this was the beast plane, not the Wolf plane.

Wolves were far from the apex predators of the beast plane.

In the chaotic world of this plane, there were lots of dangerous predators and some who also allied into packs like the wolves. These beast packs also served as a great threat to Conan's territory and hence the scout wolf packs.

As for the hunter wolf packs, they served as the main hunters of Conan's territory. They were in charge of providing food to all wolves in the territory.

The Elite wolf packs though was Conan's baby.

These fierce pack of wolves that were completely loyal to him were his favorites, and like usual, he ignored the other packs and gave attention to them.

That morning, Conan came out of his cave and stood on top a massive rock.

From there, he watched the pack of elite wolves that were before him as his black fur gleamed under the illumination of the golden sun.

Conan was a massive Shadow Wolf with black fur and a long sensitive nose. He had 2 set of teeth that were longer than the others, poking out of his dangerous maws that housed his teeth like tusks.

Conan addressed the elite wolf packs from on top the rock.

He howled loudly first, causing the blood of all the wolves to start burning hot. "We are the overlords of the Steep Hills!"

"We are the Conquerors!"

"I am the Conqueror!"

"Every wolf in the Steep Hills should be under me".

"Go out there and spread the tyranny of my power again, kill to instill fear, kill to instill respect, kill because that's what conquerors do".

"Let my aura follow you".

All the elite wolves started howling loudly after his little speech as the next moment, they all turned and started sprinting outside the territory.

Right before they entered the pathway to leave the territory, a massive White Wolf separated from the group without the knowledge of the others.

As soon as they left, this White Wolf stealthily returned.

A few minutes later, she met other wolves inside a cave in the territory who seemed to all be waiting for her as they bowed on seeing her.

"Nymeria".

She stood proudly and acknowledged their greetings.

Unlike the other wolves, despite being bigger than them, she didn't look as menacing. She was a rare Wolf with light affinity for healing, her biggest identity though was that she was Conan's younger sister.

During the last Great Wolf War, it was due to her well-timed healing that enabled Conan to bring down the powerful Fire Wolf, Gorgon.

She never expected her brother to become a tyrant after winning the war.

Now, she spearheaded the band of traitor wolves who were supporting Akela's cause. From the little that she interacted with the Wind Wolf, she was positive that Akela would be a far better ruler of the Steep Hills than her brother.

Her eyes gleamed with a fiery determination the next moment.

"Let's start the war".

"Follow me to the narrow tunnel".

A few minutes later, they arrived at a tunnel whose entrance was blocked by a boulder. Under her leadership, 6 wolves worked together to push the boulder aside, exposing the tunnel pathway.

The next moment, Nymeria closed her eyes and focused as her light energy converged to form a rainbow light that she shot into the air like fireworks.

Outside Conan's territory, as the scout wolf packs sprinted to go do their jobs, they suddenly saw the rainbow fireworks illuminating the skies.

"For Nymeria!" A massive scout Blue Wolf suddenly roared.

"For Freedom!" The other wolves that supported his cause also roared.

Before the other wolves could understand what was going on, they were already attacked as these scout wolves aggressively bit and clawed at them.

While a large batch of the scout wolves fought the others, the massive blue scout Wolf that roared first led 4 scout wolves away from the group.

After sprinting towards a massive rock, he finally saw the dust rising from the distance. Akela's army took no time to arrive before them.

"Alpha Akela, this way!"

The Blue Wolf led the way without hesitation.

A few minutes later, they arrived before the narrow tunnel without alerting the loyal wolves in Conan's territory. As the leader of this operation, Akela did not hesitate as he charged into the tunnel first.

Thud! Thud!

The other wolves charged after him as the ground seemed to vibrate.

After 3 minutes, Akela finally saw the end of the tunnel. As soon as he charged out of the tunnel, he saw his allies and without even greeting them first, he charged ahead as they all followed after him.

"Awoo!" "Awoo!"

The loud howls of wolves chanting battle cries reverberated.

With his Wind Envoy passive ability and his Speed Demon active ability, Akela was like the wind itself as he charged through Conan's territory with incredible speed.

Shocked at the sudden intrusion, the other wolves finally understood what was happening as without hesitation, they pounced on them but Akela was prepared for this as he bared his teeth at these wolves.

"Roar!"

Akela roared as he pounced on the nearest wolf.

With his Wind Claws and Bite Force ability, they stood no chance before him, he tore them to pieces completely but he didn't focus on them.

Rogue 1, 2, and 3 stuck behind their alpha like a glue, these 3 Direwolves were already sworn to Akela for life.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Rogue 1 smashed through the wolves with his Ice Elemental abilities, mostly freezing them alongside the others to reduce their movement speed.

Bone was responsible for the killing as with his metal affinity, metal shot from the earth in spear forms as they ruthlessly impaled enemy wolves, ending their lives even as the remaining 2 Rogue wolves also did their part.

Alongside these wolves, Nymeria and other Grade D Wolves that supported her cause charged after her as they closely followed behind Akela.

With these wolves supporting him, Akela's path was smooth as he kept on charging towards the largest rock where Conan lived.

The commotion of this battle did not escape the notice of the Alpha Wolf here, once Conan noticed it, he called all his loyal subordinates to war.

"AWOO!!!"

His howl reverberated through this territory like thunder as all the wolves responded to his summons, they all charged out of their holes.

Akela's eyes constricted as the full force of 1,500 wolves were unleashed upon him and his allies as the wolves charged towards them.

Akela was worried but he was not intimidated, his blood boiled hotter.

"Roar!"

With a roar, he continued leading the charge to Conan.

As the Wolf War raged, this was when Legolas finally arrived at this territory.
