"I was not," Taeho shortly answered, astonishing Jinhee.
The waiter, dressed in his black and white uniform, stepped towards the two of them and bowed politely. The fearful expression on the waiter's face, coupled with how this hands were shaking, showed how he was a new worker at here.
"What would like to order, sir and madam?" The waiter asked in a tremulous tone.
"The usual." The resonance in Taeho's deep voice reflected his controlling personality, and it was able to keep one at edge.
"I'll go with lobster spaghetti," Jinhee answered with a smile, trying to make the waiter feel at ease. She didn't want fainting here.
"I-I'll be back in ten minutes with your order," He stuttered out before bowing and leaving to get their orders.
Interlocking both of her hands together on her lap, Jinhee stared at Taeho straight and tried to display her confidence. She can't let him intimidate her.
"Is there something I could help you out with, Mr. Han?" Jinhee asked out straightforwardly. In front of a man like him, beating around the bush would only annoy him further.
"I'll be announcing to the tabloids that you're my soon to be fiancée, and we'll be getting engaged the 15th of next month," Taeho vocalised in a commanding tone, and Jinhee could simply stare at him with disbelief.
'Getting engaged? To the Han Taeho? Moreover, he's the one proposing him?'
This was all too much for Jinhee to take in at the moment. Taeho was one of the best choice for her due to his age and influence.
However, not only he was not acquainted with her beforehand, he was the one personally proposing their engagement.
There had to be some motive behind it, and foolishly, Jinhee did not want to get involved in something she can not handle.
Staring at Taeho with a straight face, Jinhee replied, "I think I'm not ready to get engaged yet."
Some might dub Jinhee as a dullard for letting go of this golden opportunity, but now that she had gotten a second chance, she had to be careful and not get involved with someone sceptical.
Moreover, Taeho appeared to be the one who would put his opinions on priority than his partner's. There were people who fancied that quality, but Jinhee preferred someone who would respect her opinions.
She was already tired of being controlled and carved into the perfect girl after being with Jaehyun. Although this was not very much possible in her society, where man tended to be dominant and in charge, Jinhee still wanted to keep up her hope.
Someone milder than Taeho in those aspects would be a better option to her.
"This engagement will be temporary and only for two years at most," Taeho stated in a business-like voice.
"Still I can't agree to it," Jinhee responded.
"Your biggest enemy is yet to appear, and it will not be possible for you to defeat your enemy without my help. I'm sure you're aware of it."
Staring at Taeho with widened eyes, Jinhee questioned out, "W-What do you mean?"
