Chapter 61 - Concentrate on me

Taehee immediately got up and brushed 'her' hand against 'her' pants. Taehee's eyes stared at Jinhee's complexion, reading the current set of emotions that flowed through it.

Shock, then fear, and finally, desperation was shown on her face whilst Jinhee tried to sit up. Wincing, her eyes stared at Taehee's, and they held immense seriousness.

"Where are we now, Taehee? Are we kidnapped?" Jinhee questioned— her tone showing how much she was panicking.

Taehee let out a breath of relief. Jinhee didn't notice. Bending down, she held Jinhee's wrist and pulled her up. Supporting herself on Taehee, Jinhee stood up.

"I'm sure we can find a passageway out of it. Let's walk," Taehee said whilst wearing a wide smile on it.

The sound of the water droplets hitting a hollow surface was heard. The passageway in front of them narrowed with each step, and the rough wall surface had many kinds of masks hung on them.

The sight of it caused Jinhee to tremble, and she was not ready to face the entire thing. Wasn't there a way for her to climb up the tunnel she came here through?

Grasping Jinhee's palm with 'hers', Taehee squeezed Jinhee's hand in order to comfort her somewhat. Jinhee's eyes anxiously stared at Taehee.

"L-Let's just finish this quickly," Jinhee stuttered out.

Colour was restored to Jinhee's face after she exited the creepy passageway, and the first emotion that she felt was relief. Never in her life was she entering into a horror ride once again!

Exhausted, Jinhee sat down on the bench whilst her eyes scanned through the entire scene in front of her. Everything in front of her was absolutely spectacular, making her feel as if she was in a dream somehow.

Then again, her life was completely dreamlike. She had received a second chance at life to improve everything after her death, and receiving a second chance also came with worries of it own.

Constantly, Jinhee was frightened. What if the things she changed backfires on her? What if instead of fixing, she was taking things to greater ruins?

Negative thoughts plagued Jinhee's mind, and sometimes, she wished that she had someone to share these thoughts with. Bearing such a heavy load alone was sometimes tiring for Jinhee.

Nonetheless, mostly, she was grateful about it. Having a second chance at life was supposed to make her happy. But when will she feel that true happiness?

In her last life, she content with little things— the slight show of affections from Jaehyun or Taehee. However, in this life, she was not sure what would allow her to smile brightly and carefreely.

Could it be when she prevented the misfortunes from falling on those she treasured? That can not be the case because trouble is there with humans always.

"What are you thinking of again?" Taehee asked, appearing in front of Jinhee's line of sight, with two cone ice-cream in her hand.

"Just some casual things," Jinhee said, accepting the cone from Taehee's hand.

Sitting down beside Jinhee, Taehee said, "I bought you here to concentrate on me and not on something else."
