Chapter 85 - Preference lies

Taehee stared at Jinhee with widened eyes.

"Or does preference lie for the same gender?" Jinhee questioned, sitting up on the water. Both Taehee and her were drenched from head to toe by now.

A smirk formed on Taehee face whilst she placed both of her knees at either side of Jinhee's leg. With her body now above Jinhee's, Taehee leaned closer to Jinhee's body and put both her hands down on the ground, making it hard for Jinhee to escape.

"Check for yourself if I am a boy or have any kind of sexual attraction towards female," Taehee voiced out, lowering her octaves.

"Yah! Han Taehee! Get off of me!" Jinhee exclaimed, feeling odd due to Taehee's expression and their close proximity.

"Nope, I don't want to. This feels comfortable," Taehee stated, "I like being on top of you."

Looking at Taehee lick both her upper and lower lip with her tongue, Jinhee understood the sexual innuendo Taehee wanted to show with that sentence.

"I don't even like girls, Taehee. So, spare me and find someone else!" Jinhee exclaimed.

Sliding her hand onto Jinhee's back, Taehee pulled Jinhee up and voiced out, "What if I make you like girls?"

"Your wig— It's falling off," Jinhee stated with a shocked expression. Blinking her eyes multiple times, Jinhee tried to confirm what she just saw.

Taehee chuckled. "Nice try, I'm not going to fall for it."

Jinhee shook her head.

"No, I'm not lying; It really falling off," Jinhee voiced out, raising her hand slightly to point at it.

Immediately, standing up, Taehee held her head and tried to check whether or not what Jinhee said was true. It seemed that the wig really slipped off by little.

As Taehee fixed it, Jinhee stood up. Water dripped down from her whilst she moved forward towards Taehee. Learning that Taehee was wearing a wig bought surprise to Jinhee, and she was curious as to why was she wearing it.

With a teasing smile, Jinhee stated, "Taehee-ah, what are you hiding behind that wig of yours? Don't be shy."

Her own words bought astonishment to Jinhee. She didn't know she had this side to her; It seems that after staying with Taehee for so long, her character was rubbing on to Jinhee.

Nonetheless, Jinhee did not hate it.

Removing her hand from hair, Taehee just stared at Jinhee with an arched eyebrow, as if she was interested to see what Jinhee would do next.

Moving her hands forward towards Taehee, Jinhee was about to take off the wig when Taehee seized hold of her hands, and Jinhee remained helpless under her tight grip.

"I'll show you, but are you sure you can take the responsibility after seeing my biggest secret? This responsibility isn't something trivial, and you might need to take care of me for your entire life." Taehee tried to sound scary as she spoke those words.

Jinhee rolled her eyes. No matter how big her curiosity was, she couldn't get tricked by Taehee once again into something she'd regret later on.

"On a serious note though, do you have some kind of terminal disease and for that, your real hair turned ugly?" Jinhee questioned, looking somewhat serious.

Putting on a sorrowful expression, Taehee sniffed and voiced out, "Yes, you're right. How did you guess it? I have one more month to live. The only way to live further is if…"

Taehee leaned closer to Jinhee and continued, "You kiss me on my lips."

Slapping Taehee on her chest, Jinhee moved back and glared at her. Jinhee was worried about her yet Taehee is joking at this moment.

"You know what, I don't even care anymore," Jinhee retorted, showing her tongue at Taehee childishly.

Turning her back on Taehee, Jinhee started to walk away when Taehee run after her. Sounds of both of their footsteps could be distinctly heard.

Catching up to Jinhee, Taehee held Jinhee's shoulder and pulled Jinhee closer to her. With a playful smirk, Taehee voiced out, "Is my little squirrel angry with me?"

Punching at Taehee's side, Jinhee exclaimed out, "Go die!"

Taehee's laughs could be heard.

°°°

In order to avoid the scenario that was about to happen tonight, Jinhee had an idea in the mind. A slumber party was the best option out there.

Although the air between Jinhee and Jaehyun would be awkward after what happened yesterday, Jinhee had to do this to protect Jaehyun's reputation.

A slumber party between three girls and a male seemed like a weird idea, but there was no one else Jinhee could include.

With Taehee's help, Jinhee even installed a CCTV camera inside the room to record everything, so that they would have proof if reporters defame Jaehyun.

Even though Taehee was not keen on the idea of helping Jaehyun in the beginning, Jinhee managed to convince her in the end, and due to Taehee's genius ability— as Taehee worded it— they were successful in placing the camera in the best possible place.

Jinhee agreed with the fact that Taehee was a genius, but she needed to use her brain in better ways.

As Jinhee went to convince Jaehyun and Chaewon to come, Taehee did the errands and cooking. Although Taehee complained a lot about cooking for Jaehyun, she did it in the end.

Jinhee wondered. If Taehee hated Jaehyun that much, how did the both of them end up kissing in her previous life?

Knocking on Jaehyun's door, Jinhee double checked that there was no one beside them. Due to the commotion caused during the morning, the security around the hotel was tightened, and outsiders can not barge in easily.

The door opened, revealing Jaehyun dressed in casual clothing. Jinhee had to admit that Jaehyun looked extremely attractive, but her heart did not flutter like before.

"Will you be free later at night?" Jinhee asked.

Staring at Jaehyun in front of her, Jinhee wanted to ask questions on Yejun. However, she understood that Yejun was a sore point for Jaehyun, and making Jaehyun uncomfortable was not something she wanted.

"You might not want to see me after what happened yesterday, and I understand if you'd want to reject me. But I just thought it'd be cool if the four of us could have a slumber party and-"

Ruffling Jinhee's hair, Jaehyun spoke out, "Stop rambling. I'm not going to avoid you after what happened yesterday."

Looking down, Jinhee voiced out, "Sorry."

She could relate to what Jaehyun must be feeling since she once went through that, and furthering herself away from him will make him move on faster.

'I'm sorry. After this trip, I won't show myself to you.'

"There's no need for you to apologize," Jaehyun said, "I'm sure."

Getting rejected hurt the ego of boys at such age a lot, and many don't take it well. Some either resort to forcing the girl or bothers the girl after facing rejection.

If it is not that, they try to show their displeasure in other ways. However, Jaehyun did not do anything against Jinhee; He calmly accepted it. This mature part of him was a characteristic Jinhee liked.
