Chapter 109 - Squirrel

"Yah! Yah! What do you mean by earplugs!? You're lucky to hear me sing, alright!?" Hyunbin voiced out loudly.

"Why do I not want to be lucky suddenly?" Jinhee questioned with a seemingly innocent smile on her face.

"Stop acting like you can sing better than me!" Hyunbin exclaimed.

"I'm pretty sure I won't kill people with my singing abilities." Jinhee struck her tongue out at Hyunbin.

"Hyunbin-ah, for the next round, I'll make sure to put you at the last," Taehee said whilst getting up from the ground and sitting up on the couch.

"I thought Jinhee would be the worst but you're on another level," Taehee added as she clapped her hands. Jinhee simply rolled her eyes.

"The song you chose was terrible! Give me something more manly next time." Hyunbin scoffed while going over to his previous seat. Before that, he made sure to glare at both Jinhee and Taehee.

"Although your singing voice was bad, it seemed that you've heard this song before couple of times judging by how synced you were," Jinhee commented with a smirk.

"You sang it as if it was your favourite song," Taehee said as she turned towards Hyunbin.

In Hyunbin's mind, both of them were devils who enjoyed ganging up against him. Folding his hands on his chest, he turned to look straight at the front— determined to ignore the two. He can't let them know his embarrassing secret!

Jinhee, who was seated beside Hyunbin, nudged his shoulder lightly and, wearing a friendly expression, voiced out, "Is it something that intense you can't tell us about?"

On Hyunbin's other side sat Taehee, and nudging at Hyunbin's other shoulder, she said, "Don't be so shy, Binnie!"

Finding it fun, Jinhee wanted to continue it further and added, "Binnie, we are your friends."

"And friends tell everything to their other friends," Taehee commented.

"Fuck! You two! I'll go off to the washroom!" Hyunbin announced loudly before stomping outbid the room and slamming close the door behind him.

Jinhee and Taehee let out a laugh, and turned towards each other, raising both of their right hands up. The laugh on Jinhee's face diminished when she came into a realisation that it was Taehee who she partnered up with.

Jaehyun simply shook his head by looking at their antics, and Chaewon just watched the entire scene unfold with a small smile.

"We make great partners!" Taehee commented excitedly.

Moving her hand, Taehee slapped Jinhee's palm, which was raised, with hers, creating a loud noise. Taking her hand down immediately, Jinhee saw her palm reddening.

"Yah! Han Taehee!" Jinhee exclaimed. A burning pain went through her palm, and she glared towards Taehee. That girl purposely used so much force!

"Sorry, sometimes I forget that you're a weakling," Taehee vocalised whilst wearing an apologetic expression.

Nonetheless, Jinhee knew that Taehee was simply mocking her, and being the mature teen she was, Jinhee decided to ignore Taehee instead of retorting back.

It was Jinhee's turn to sing after Min Hyunbin's, according to Han Taehee, and the song chosen for her was not an unknown song to her luckily. It was Bad Boy by IRA— a song she listened to couple of times when she was at middle school.

No matter how much Jinhee was confident about the song, facing the four of them made Jinhee felt nervous and awkward. Staring at the screen in beside of her sideways, Jinhee saw the lyrics starting to appear.

Gulping, she mustered up a little courage and sang, "Look at him walking, showing off that arrogance. He's the kind of man—"

"Sing loudly, you old lady! At least during my time, you could hear me!" Hyunbin commented as he wore a smirk on his face.

"During this Hyunbin's time, he sang louder than necessary, and now this Jinhee's voice barely comes out of her throat," Taehee voiced out, "It would be superb if you can teach each other."

Ignoring the comments she received, in a louder tone, she continued, "Oh! Your eyes hold that temptation— temptation that I can't resist. I feel like I'm on fire."

"Confirmed, Jinhee-ah," Taehee commented, "You look like a squirrel even when you sing."

"You sound like a squirrel as well!" Hyunbin added, earning a chuckle from Taehee.

In Jinhee's opinion, she had no time to deal with kids, and putting down the microphone on the table, she walked towards her seat.

"You have done really good," Jaehyun commented.

"Yeah, it was nice to hear," Chaewon voiced out.

"Thanks." Jinhee smiled at the two. At least there were some who did not make fun of her.
