Chapter 126 - Early discharge

"If classmates bully you, isn't it better to directly complain to the authorities or leave school. If you can't do either of them, it's better to beat up the classmates. Right, Doctor Kim?" Taehee questioned.

"That is correct as well," Doctor Kim voiced out.

He felt sweat forming on his forehead, and taking out his handkerchief, he wiped it. The tension in this room was too much, and he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.

"Highschool memories are the most important in a human's life, and I don't want others to shun me," Jinhee pointed out, "And if I say that I feel alright, why should some stranger interfere?"

Feigning to look surprised and insulted, Taehee turned towards Jinhee and voiced out, "Stranger? Wow! Lee Jinhee, I bought you here, so I get a say in this matter as well. Moreover, I am the smarter one here."

"That doesn't matter to me. Doctor Kim, when will I be able to leave the hospital? Taehee is just looking for excuses to skip school," Jinhee voiced out.

"Is this what you treat my care for you as? Fine then."

Facing the doctor, Taehee spoke out, "Increase it to two weeks then. Seems like she is still sick in the head."

"Yah! Han Taehee! Stop being immature. Doctor Kim, please say accurately how many days?"

With pleading eyes, Jinhee added, "My entire life depends on this. My parents are really strict, and they will throw me on the streets if I fail."

"I'll take you in then," Taehee voiced out.

Rolling her eyes at Taehee, Jinhee replied, "I don't want to be a burden to you."

"You won't be a burden, and in fact, I'll enjoy supporting my little squirrel very much," Taehee voiced out.

"Han Taehee—"

Interrupting Jinhee, Doctor Kim, who got tired of being pressured, stated, "Three days. Miss Lee Jinhee, you'll be able to get discharged after three days."

His voice came out louder than he originally expected, and after giving speaking out those words, the doctor scurried out of the room.

Watching the doctor leave the room as if he faced something frightening, both Taehee and Jinhee began to laugh. Both of them really frightened the doctor.

Although Jinhee did not like being in this boring place for three more days, it was better than spending a week here.

Leaning against the bed, Jinhee sat down. Although her back ached at times, this was better than lying down. She became tired of that.

Sitting on the chair beside her bed, Taehee peeled the apple with her knife, and after she was done with it, she cut a piece out of it.

Instead of handing the piece to Jinhee, Taehee bought it near to Jinhee's mouth, and Jinhee took a bite out of it whilst staring at Taehee.

After the doctor had left, Taehee did not utter a word, and in fact, she did not speak any unnecessary words the entire day today.

This was starting to annoy Jinhee for an unknown reason. If it was a month ago, Jinhee would have preferred the silent Taehee, but growing used to her chattering, Jinhee felt empty without it.

"Why are you so quiet?" Jinhee questioned in a soft voice.

"Don't you hate how noisy I can be?" Taehee questioned with a smile on her face.

"That was true, but I am not sure anymore," Jinhee mumbled to herself,  and it was too low to reach Taehee's ears.

"But you don't need to force yourself," Jinhee voiced out, "Feel free to talk."

"I don't want to inconvenience you. Moreover, you're the patient here," Taehee voiced out before placing half of the apple piece from earlier into Jinhee's mouth.

Chewing and swallowing down the piece, Jinhee stared up at Taehee and spoke out, "I won't be inconvenienced if you talk at this moment."

Turning the other side, Jinhee hid her reddened cheeks. Looking at the shy Jinhee, Taehee's smile got wider.

'My little squirrel is really too cute!'

°°°

"I can't stay here at the hospital and have to leave," Taehee spoke out, "I'll visit you tomorrow morning then!"

"Tomorrow morning?" Jinhee questioned, "Don't you have exam tomorrow morning?"

"Exam, hmm..." Taehee spoke out.

With a smile on her face, Taehee voiced out, "Well, I'm skipping that. I didn't like these exams in the first place, and now, I have an excuse to skip them."

'I don't want to be your partner in crime.'

"I don't want any visits in the morning since I'll be busy sleeping," Lee Jinhee vocalised.

"It's alright; You can sleep," Taehee spoke out, "I enjoy watching you sleep."

"No, you'll be attending the exams," Jinhee voiced out.

"I can't do that! You need someone to take care of you," Taehee spoke out.

"There are doctors and nurses here, and I don't exactly need you."

"Lee Jinhee, are you replacing me?" Taehee gasped whilst trying to look hurt.

"Are you even worth replacing?" Jinhee retorted.
