Chapter 156 - Fresh Air

Being able to feel Han Taehyun's breath on her face, Lee Jinhee noticed that it smelled fresh, and the scent was somewhat minty. Realizing that male was so close to her, Lee Jinhee's face turned red once again.

In the midst of nervousness, Lee Jinhee tried to move back. However, due to clumsiness, Lee Jinhee was about to fall back when Han Taehyun held her by her back in order to prevent her from touching the ground.

Lee Jinhee's stared at Han Taehyun's face, and her heart started to beat faster. The realization that Han Taehyun was actually a male and both of them were alone at the large Han Mansion dawned upon her.

Her eyes went towards his lips, and looking at his thin, light red lips, Lee Jinhee felt her throat go dry. In order to block his appearance from her view, she immediately closed her eyes.

She did not want a repeat of her past. Falling for someone not up to her level was not something Lee Jinhee wanted. Although Han Taehyun's parents were much more welcoming, she knew that everyone around her would mock at her.

Moreover, Han Taehyun never confessed to her seriously and joked around about it. There were no confirmation to the fact whether or not he would like her back.

Not opening her eyes, Lee Jinhee, in a soft voice, spoke out, "When you were a girl to me, it did not affect me much? But now that you're not, Han Taehyun, can you not be so good to me? I'm afraid that I'll misunderstand."

"But what if I want you to misunderstand?" Han Taehyun questioned— his voice sounding genuine. His eyes showed deep emotions whilst they stared upon Lee Jinhee.

Han Taehyun's answer bought shock upon Lee Jinhee. Opening her eyes, she wanted to check Han Taehyun's current expression in order to see whether or not he was pulling her leg once again.

Solemn look in Han Taehyun's eyes made Lee Jinhee be at a loss of words, and as Lee Jinhee tried to sit up, her abrupt action her to bump head against Han Taehyun's.

Wincing in pain, Lee Jinhee raised her hand to rub her forehead. Since Lee Jinhee had stabilised herself, Han Taehyun removed his hand from around Lee Jinhee and moved back.

Tears welled up at the corner of her eyes due to the intense pain, and she raised her head to look at Han Taehyun. She had no idea on how to react to his words from earlier.

"Lee Jinhee, if you didn't understand it until now, then I'll tell you clearly. I'm courting you."

Lee Jinhee was almost about to faint at that moment.

•••

Falling down on her bed, Lee Jinhee still had a hard time trying to comprehend what Han Taehyun confessed about earlier. Jinhee expected— even prayed hard internally— for him to burst out laughing and say that he was cooking her.

However, that wasn't what that happened. Lee Jinhee could see the genuine feelings inside his eyes. They absolutely resembled her eyes when she stared Kim Jaehyun in her previous life.

"This had to be a joke, right?" Lee Jinhee voiced out.

Laughing out to herself, Lee Jinhee, to herself, spoke out, "This is definitely a prank. Han Taehyun would come to in a few hours or in a day and laugh at you for being a fool by believing him in.

Lee Jinhee, you don't actually expect that Han Taehyun likes you and wants to court you. How he even fall for you within a month when you behaved all rude with it? He is just playing with you. Now, close your eyes and fall asleep, Lee Jinhee. It's late at night, and sleep will make you to think clearly."

For about two hours, Lee Jinhee moved around her bed, and not even for a second, she felt a little close to being sleepy. Her mind was wide awake and thought about Han Taehyun's words from earlier.

No matter what Lee Jinhee did to erase those thoughts away from her mind or distract her mind to somewhere else, she remained unsuccessful. The more she tried to forget what happened earlier, the more she thought about it.

"Getting some fresh air would definitely help," Lee Jinhee mumbled.

Removing the blanket off her leg, Lee Jinhee sat up and grabbed her crutches from the side. With the help from the crutches, Lee Jinhee stood up and walked towards the direction of the balcony.

Opening the door to the balcony, Lee Jinhee felt the fresh, cool breeze hit her, and supporting herself on the crutches, she walked inside the balcony.

Looking the sight before her, Lee Jinhee found it beautiful. White and golden lights illuminated the scene in front of her, and outline of flowers grown inside the garden could be seen. Serenity was present, and a smile formed on Lee Jinhee's face. The night sky had a half moon on it, and stars twinkled beside the lone moon.

Bending her waist forward, Lee Jinhee supported her arm on the railing of the balcony and rested her head upon it. The breeze flowed her hair, and her bangs scattered across her face whilst she stared at the scene before her.

She spotted the lake beside which she and Han Taehyun used to spend the last moments of his birthday in her last life. The lights were all around the lake, lightening it up. The night sky reflected upon the lake.

Some of the bangs obstructed her line of sight, and raising her hand, Lee Jinhee tried to push back those bangs away from her forehead when she heard someone call her name.

"Jinhee-ah! Jinhee-ah! Look down!"

Surprised to hear the familiar voice, Lee Jinhee looked down towards the direction of the voice. Han Taehyun stood on the smooth ground beside the flower garden, and he waved his hands towards Lee Jinhee.

Lee Jinhee's halted in her motion, and her bangs flew back into her face. A wide smile sat upon Han Taehyun's face, and Lee Jinhee could clearly hear her the sound of her rapid heart beats.

"I'm courting you."

His words from earlier repeated inside of her mind, and her cheeks began to heat up gradually. Nonetheless, under the night sky, Lee Jinhee found Han Taehyun looking absolutely mesmerising, and it was extremely difficult for her to tear away her eyes from him.

In some ways, Han Taehyun was more charming and handsome that Kim Jaehyun.

"Are you finding it hard to sleep as well?" Han Taehyun yelled.

The entire sentence did not sound clear to Lee Jinhee. Nonetheless, she understood what he was trying to imply, and Lee Jinhee nodded at Han Taehyun to let him know her answer.
