As Han Taeho entered into the room, the police officers viewed everything from the other side of the screen until he shook his head, indicating for the police to not watch whatever will be happening inside.
Although this was against the rules, the police had no other choices. The man in front of them was Han Taeho, and all of them were clearly cognizant on what he could do. They immediately stopped viewing whatever was going inside and turned a deaf ear to everything as if it was none of their business.
Walking over to the chair, Han Taeho pulled it back and sat down upon it. As a nonchalant expression was placed upon his face, Taeho stared at Lee Minjoon.
Raising his head, Minjoon looked towards Taeho, and to Han Taeho, it was easily visible what had happened to him within a day.
Minjoon's eyes held hope whilst they gazed upon Taeho, and he looked at Han Taeho as if Taeho was his saviour.
"Please save me, Mr. Han Taeho; I am willing to do anything in return. Mr. Han Taeho, I was Jinkyung's father, and she really values my opinion. Please take me out of here, Mr. Han Taeho," Minjoon pleaded.
'Lee Jinhee would have enjoyed this scene before her.'
That was the thought which popped up in his mind after viewing the scene in front of him, and he continued to watch Minjoon beg at him. Taeho could see that Minjoon was close to falling on his knees, and as Taeho did not like that, he knew that he had to stop it.
"Stop, Mr. Han. I can help you with the entire situation if you let me know the truth about everything without fabricating anything; I would not be able to help you cover everything if you lie to me," Han Taeho voiced out.
Lee Minjoon's face turned pale, and more wrinkles formed upon his face. His eyes clearly showed fear, and all that pride he held within him diminished within a day.
Sensing the hesitancy within Minjoon, Taeho vocalised, "Don't worry. I ordered them to not view or record anything that is happening. So, you are quite safe in that way."
Lee Minjoon had no other option but to trust Taeho. As all the evidences were against him at this point, Minjoon was not hesitant before letting out about everything to Han Taeho. After all, how worse could things get than it already was?
"I did embezzle funds and accepted bribes in some cases. There were couple of illegal things I did, and I was even involved with switching of products with those of worse qualities at times.
But that is something that happens in almost all the companies? It is nothing new neither is this harming anyone. I don't get why are they so serious about it," Minjoon voiced out as he scoffed.
Holding in his urge to roll his eyes at the male in front of him, Taeho questioned, "Is that all? What about mistreatment of workers?"
"That is up for the department heads to handle. How many things can they expect me to do? I am already busy with much important things, and why did I hire the department heads if they can not resolve such matters?" Lee Minjoon vocalised— slight arrogance visible in his eyes and tone.
Then, looking towards Han Taeho, he turned to look more obedient, and he voiced out, "You know what I mean, right? Since you are running a bigger company, you should be understanding my case."
"Thank you for the cooperation. With these evidences, I can have you detained for lots of years," Han Taeho said.
Sliding the chair back and creating a screeching noise, Taeho stood up. Processing what had just happened, Lee Minjoon found himself being angered. Nevertheless, he did not want to provoke Han Taeho yet.
"W-What do you mean, Mr. Han Taeho? I don't understand you all of a sudden," Minjoon vocalised as he stood up from his place.
Seeing how Minjoon was pleading to him with his eyes, Taeho found himself almost scoffing at how pathetic the man looked. Even without taking Lee Jinhee into consideration, he found satisfaction in seeing him like this.
Although Taeho would not be able to clear away all the rats from the business world, he is satisfied with clearing some of them occasionally. Then again, he was not the good guy either; He was someone with lots of power, which made him untouchable to many.
"It is just as it seems. I have come here to collect evidences that would extend your sentence. Seeing you vocally admit to it should be enough of that proof," Han Taeho voiced out.
Lee Minjoon could not believe what Taeho just did. Wasn't Han Taeho the one who fancied his daughter, Lee Jinkyung? If he fancied her, why was he trying to gather evidences against her father? This did not make sense to Minjoon.
"W-Why are you doing? Jinkyung would not like if you attack against the father like this; As I have mentioned before, Jinkyung really likes me. As for Jinhee, if she did anything wrong, which is causing you to take these actions, I am sorry; I really am. Please take me out of hair," Lee Minjoon said.
Sweat formed at Han Minjoon's forehead, and his cheeks were red at this point. Han Taeho could see that Minjoon was close to crying at that moment— probably due to how helpless and cornered he felt at this moment.
"No," Taeho curtly answered.
Lee Minjoon slammed his hand on the table when he realized that all of this was a trap pulled out by Han Taeho had laid out for him.
Han Taeho was sure that he, Lee Minjoon, would easily trust in the words of Han Taeho, and Taeho used those as an advantage to get him behind the bars, where he was trapped. If it was not for this, Minjoon would have left the city by now.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Mr. Han, we absolutely have to enmity with each other, and I can not understand why you are doing this! I never tried to offend you in any way, and what about Jinkyung?
Are you playing with her? That girl loves you genuinely, and is this how you are treating her feelings towards you? Although you are better than us in all the aspects, that doesn't mean you can use Jinkyung in any way you what," Minjoon stated although his body was shivering.
He did not understand where he had such courage to speak to Han Taeho in this way. All that has been happening currently was driving him mad, and not in his right sense, Lee Minjoon was unable to hold in his temper.
Lee Minjoon then gasped before adding, "Could it be because of Lee Jinhee? I have a feeling that girl must have said some horrible things about me to you, and this is why you are taking revenge against my family.
I swear whatever she is saying in plain lie, and hearing those bluffs of hers, please do not punish my family. Each one of us are innocent, and we would not anything as bad as she described."
"Lee Jinhee? No, you are here because of your daughter, Lee Jinkyung. I, Han Taeho, would do anything to ruin that daughter of yours, and the only one you should blame for all those disaster is your daughter, Lee Jinkyung.
If it was not for her, you would not be the target of all this. You meticulously hid everything, but it was me who brought out all of that doc.u.ment in the light. You would still be leading a joyful life if it was not for Jinkyung," Han Taeho vocalised before walking towards the direction of the door.
Opening the door to the room, Taeho walked away, and seeing the scene before him, Minjoon's legs collapsed. As they gave away, he fell down on the ground. His knees hitting the floor created a sound, and pain spread through his legs.
Nevertheless, that was not his concern at this moment.
Lee Minjoon was done for, and even he himself was well aware of that.
