Chapter 279 - Recording

"Was there anything I am needed here for?" Jinhee questioned as she entered into the room.

All of the eyes were upon her at this moment, and seeing how Taeho nodded his head, Jinhee pursed her lips.

As she wondered on about what the possible reason could be, she walked towards the couch and took a seat beside Taeho.

The tension in the room was thick, and there was no one, who attempted to break the silence present within the room.

Finding the situation too awkward for her taste, Jinhee coughed and decided to break it herself. Everyone stared at her direction as she did so.

"Well, since everyone is going to be this silent, I think it is better for me to head back to my room. I have quite a lot of work to complete," Jinhee said as the lower ends of her lips curved to form a small smile.

"Wait! There is something important to be discussed. Taeho came here because of that," Jinkyung vocalised.

Lee Jinhee could see the enthusiasm in Jinkyung's tone as she did so, and Jinhee had a clue that it was because Taeho told her regarding something pleasant.

Turning her head, Jinhee stared at Taeho whilst raising one of her eyebrows. Whatever he had planned in his mind, it would have been better if he had given a clue about it to her before.

"About Jinhee and my engagement, I want to break it and get engaged to Lee Jinkyung. Jinhee's and my engagement was just done due to business reason. However, the one I truly want is Jinkyung, and just for due to business, I can not give up true love," Taeho confessed.

Although Han Taeho's words did not astound Jinhee, they were sudden at this moment, and Jinhee found herself unable to react to them properly. She did not know whether or not should she show that she was sad.

Nonetheless, she had to act fast, so that the others do not have any type of suspicion. Therefore, turning towards Taeho, she had her eyes widened.

"W-What do you mean?" Jinhee asked.

Lee Jinhee had an inkling about what Taeho had planned in his mind. He wanted to strengthen Jinkyung's trust within him and use this opportunity to humiliate her. However, she did not know regarding what ideas he brewed up in order to mortify Jinkyung.

"It is just as I have said. Jinhee, I do not love you or wish to get married to; It is Jinkyung who I want to marry. For Jinkyung, I am willing to go against my parents and break my engagement to you," Taeho stated, sounding determined.

"Are you sure?" Jiyoung asked.

This confirmed all the doubts within her, and Lee Jiyoung was confident that Han Taeho fancied Jinkyung at this point. After all, Taeho did not pass around words and promises randomly.

Taeho nodded and said, "If I have your permission, Lee Jiyoung-ssi, I would love to court Jinkyung."

During the entire time, Jinkyung stared at the ground, pretending to be shy, and then, slowly raising her head, she tucked a strand of her hair under her ear.

"Taeho, will it not be too unfair to Jinhee? I do not want to steal you away from anyone neither do I want to make Jinhee sad," Jinkyung vocalised as a sigh left her mouth.

"I do not care about that, Jinkyung, and Jinhee will not be having any problem with that. She knows that both of us are in love with each other, and for you, Jinkyung, I am ready to fight. Aren't you willing to do that for me?" Taeho stated.

Han Taeho's words made Jinhee want to laugh in that instant. Taeho had a different type of image inside her mind, and seeing him like that made it difficult for her to hold in her urge to laugh.

"I think I will just excuse myself from this," Jinhee said whilst holding her mouth.

She had no idea on when she might be unable to control her laughs, and thus, she ran towards the direction of the door. Opening the door to the room, she ran towards the direction of the balcony.

°°°

Standing on the balcony, Jinhee closed her eyes and enjoyed the cold air that came towards her. Couple of minutes ago, she texted Taeho on how she will be at the balcony, and currently, she was waiting for him to show up.

Hearing footsteps behind her, Jinhee had an idea on who they belonged to yet she did not make a move to turn back.

After she had walked into the balcony, she recalled about how Taeho had sounded earlier and laughed for few minutes.

She felt a figure stand next to her, and turning her head, she looked at Han Taeho beside her. The expression from earlier was gone from his face, and impassiveness could be seen upon it.

"Love does make people foolish. You ruined your first life over it; I did the same as well," Jinhee said as a small smile formed on her face.

Despite how much Jinhee found herself hating love, she found herself falling in love once again in this life of hers. Nonetheless, she was not willing to let it make her irrational like her last life.

Taeho nodded and stated, "Now, that we will be done with Youngmi soon, Jinkyung is needed to be targeted next."

"About that, I have a piece of information that might help you go against Youngmi, and this is a major information," Jinhee stated as she reached out for her pocket to take out her phone.

"Earlier, I stumbled about Jinkyung's and Youngmi's conversation, and did not expect to get something big out of it," Jinhee added as she turned on her phone and swiped across the screen to search for that recording.

After she had found it, Jinhee clicked on it, and as it began to play, she showed it to Taeho. As Taeho listened to the contents of the recording, Jinhee turned back to see whether or not there was someone behind them.
