Chapter 287 - Grateful

Lee Jinkyung put in her best efforts to dress up for this party, and as there will be many onlookers staring at her— for couple of reasons— she was aware that she had to look like the best.

After what had happened, rarely anyone would be seeing their family in the good light, and going to that party might turn out humiliating for her. Despite of that, Jinkyung knew that as long as Taeho was by her side, everything will be turning out quite decent.

Even though she never planned on getting engaged to him, she knew that in order to gain back all that she had lost, she needed to keep him very close to her.

Therefore, going to the party tonight will be strengthening everything and will be beginning of the process gaining everything.

Jinkyung was well aware of the possibility of being called the other woman for Jinhee is still engaged to Taeho. Nonetheless, she was also cognizant of the fact that the others will be calling Jinhee the other woman soon.

When it came to talent, elegance, and beauty, Lee Jinhee was quite lacking compared to her, and for she had Taeho's love, this made Jinkyung more superior than other.

Surely there were couple of ups and downs, but, in Jinkyung's opinion, the crown will be hers finally. After all, challenges spiced things up.

Walking into the mansion, Jinkyung had many eyes in her direction. Instead of taking them negatively, she took them to be there because of mesmerising she appeared.

Whispers regarding herself reached her ear. Nonetheless, Jinkyung put on an unbothered front regardless of how annoyed she was by it.

It was Jinhee the world should be gossiping about and throwing dirty stares at. In Jinkyung's opinion, she did not deserve either of that. After all, there was nowhere she was quite lacking at, and almost everyone took a liking at her.

Scanning her eyes across the crowd, Jinkyung tried to search for Han Taeho. Once she was by his side, none of those pests will dare to gosssip regarding her, and they will be licking her boot.

Thinking about that gave Jinkyung immediate please. However, she maintained a gentle smile on her face, and in her eyes was a certain type of sadness.

Letting out a sigh, Jinkyung tried to look towards the ground, showing how all those gossips made her sad. If she had kept an oblivious, happy expression, she would have others calling her shameless.

Walking over to Han Taeho once she had spotted him, Jinkyung had her line of sight lowered, and her movements were quite timid.

Han Taeho conversed with couple of middle aged man, and after they have walked away from the scene, Jinkyung stepped towards him.

Raising her sight to look towards him, Jinkyung had a shy expression on her face as she said, "Brother-in-law, I am here."

Lee Jinkyung was well aware that she appeared to quite endearing at that moment, and she presumed that to be the case for having many eyes on her.

Staring at Jinkyung's direction, Han Taeho nodded his head and vocalised, "Yes, you are here. Did you have any difficulty in arriving here?"

Noticing the warmth in Taeho's voice, Jinkyung confirmed his feelings for her once again, and without a drop of guilt within her, she decided upon monopolising them.

Jinkyung let out a sigh and voiced out, "Even though Jinhee tried to create some trouble for me, I managed to reach here. I understand her point of view though, Brother-in-law.

After all, she is insecure as she is engaged to you, and now, after everything my father has done, it normal for her to hate me. But Brother-in-law, I have not done anything. It is my father who did everything, so why do I need to go through everything."

Blinking her eyes multiple times, Jinkyung had tears forming at the corner of her eyes, and raising her hand, she wiped the tears that formed there, appearing to be pitiful in the eyes of the onlookers.

Then, Jinkyung bowed towards Taeho and vocalised, "I am sorry about it. With how things have been going on, I just got slightly emotional. I hope you can look past it."

Han Taeho shook his head and voiced out, "You are right. No one has to suffer for their father's mistakes."

Lee Jinkyung had a small smile forming on her face at Taeho's words and at how he had defended her indirectly in front of everyone.

Han Taeho's words managed to shock the onlookers though. They had expected for him to hate upon Jinkyung, considering how her father had attempted to kill Jinhee. However, it seemed to be the opposite case.

It made all of them suspicious and curious. As Jinhee was also present at the party, they were curious upon seeing how the entire thing will be unfolding.

"Thank you, Brother-in-law; Those words mean a lot to me. After such a long time, someone finally tried to take my side. Everyone cursed at me, but you did not do so, Brother-in-law. I am really grateful to you, and this makes me feel more at ease. Jinhee is really lucky to have you," Jinkyung voiced out as a wide smile on her face.

Shaking his head, Taeho said, "You do not need to thank me for such a trivial matter. I was simply voicing out my opinions."

"Where are my manners? Brother-in-law, where are the hosts of the party? I should have gone snd greeted them first. How can I make such a mistake?" Jinkyung mumbled before pursing both of her lips together.

"That is fine. You do not know who they are, and I know that they will not be minding it. I will take you to where they are," Taeho said— his words bringing more shock to the other guests.

They could clearly see how Han Taeho was creating Jinkyung, and this made them doubtful on whether or not the two of them had a special relationship between them.

"Really? Thank you, Brother-in-law. I am really grateful to you!"
