Hearing those words from the doctor made Lee Jinhee feel as if her world had collapsed, and her hand began to tremble.
Lee Jinhee was about to enter into Han Taehyun's room and opened the door slightly when she heard the doctor talk to Han Jihye, Taehyun's mother.
"Han Taehyun's condition is getting worse, and about his chances of recovering, it is getting lower. I think you have to start considering all the possibilities at this point, and the possiblity of him waking up is decreasing. I am sorry at this moment there is nothing else that I am able to do," the doctor voiced out.
Lee Jinhee shook her head; she was not willing to believe that. It could not be the truth. How could Han Taehyun's situation worsen?
All of this was too much for Jinhee, and maybe she was being a coward, but Jinhee was not willing to accept all that.
Turning her back, she ran away from there. She did not care about where she was going to. Jinhee merely wanted to go really far from there. She felt as if her chest was being squeezed by something painfully, and it was difficult for her to breath at the current moment.
Just when she managed to compose herself, she heard this, and everything crumbled down at that moment. Tears continued to stream down her eyes while she ran. All this pain was something Jinhee desperately craved to get away from.
'Please, don't let this be true. Please don't let Han Taehyun die. What will be the meaning of being second chance if he just dies in the end? No, Jinhee, no, don't think that way.
The doctor did not confirm that Taehyun will no longer be awake. Although the possibility is small, you know that Taehyun is strong, and he is really lucky. He was an encouraging figure in both of my lives, and he can not just give up this easily.'
Lee Jinhee took in a deep breath. No matter how much positively she tried to think at that moment, it was completely impossible. Her mind was plagued by the negativity.
That is when Lee Jinhee's body collided with someone, and before she could fall back, a pair of arm was secured around her waist, stopping her from falling due to the impact.
When that person released the hold he had on Lee Jinhee, Jinhee took a step back to see who that person was. Seeing Kim Jaehyun stand before her whilst a depressed look sat on her face, Jinhee found herself utterly breaking down.
Moving over to Kim Jaehyun, she instantly pulled him into a tight hug and began to cry loudly. She desperately needed someone to comfort her and say about how everything will be fine.
Jaehyun extended his hand towards Jinhee and patted on her back softly in order to give solace to her. Even though it felt nice, it was not enough to erase the aches within her heart.
"I am here, Jinhee," he said, "Keep on crying. I am here to lend you support, so it's alright. Let out all of those bottled up emotions within you. I know about how painful it is, so don't hold back anything."

The two of them currently sat opposite to each other in a café, and whilst a cup of coffee was in front of Jaehyun, a small slice of cake was before Jinhee.
Staring at the cake slice, Jinhee did not find herself having any appetite towards it. If it was a few days ago, she would have excitedly eaten it, but now, she had no mood at tasting it.
"Eat it, Jinhee. You need your strength. Han Taehyun would not want to see you collapse once he wakes up," Jaehyun vocalised, "More than the doctors, you know that he will be waking up.
You know how much he likes you and wants to be with you. He would not be giving up the second chance he got that easily, so don't lose trust in him."
Lee Jinhee just kept on staring at the cake.
Kim Jaehyun let out a sigh, and extending his hand towards the fork that lied before her, he picked it up, handing it to her.
Jinhee accepted the fork from his hand and decided to give the cake a try. Cutting a piece from the cake, she placed it inside her mouth and decided to eat it.
She needed her energy if she wanted to carry on; she had to keep on living to see whether or not Han Taehyun will be making out of it.
The cake felt bland to her tongue, and a sigh left Jinhee's mouth. It was difficult for her to swallow the cake down, but she managed to do it.
"Good girl," Jaehyun vocalized, "You would not want Taehyun to be sad after he wakes up. Saving your life was something he risked his life to do, so don't waste it, Jinhee-ah."
Those words of Kim Jaehyun made Jinhee feel more guilt, and she stated, "This is all my fault. Jaehyun, I really want to go back to that time and change everything. One more chance, that is what I want. Why can't everything be reset?"
"Be more positive, Jinhee," Jaehyun said, "You can't fall weak, Jinhee, and none of it was your fault. Han Taehyun would not be able to survive if something had happened to you. Losing you again was not something he could bear."
Staring at the table, Jinhee questioned, "What had happened when I died in my last life?"
Without looking, Jinhee could guess that her sudden question left Jaehyun shocked, and his eyes widened. It was understandable for him to show such an expression.
"When did you come to know about all this?" Jaehyun questioned.
"Yesterday," Jinhee answered, "I had a long dream about all this, my last life and how I died."
"How are you holding up after finding out about all that?" Jaehyun questioned carefully in order to not hurt her feelings.
