55 Cooking vs Eating

'"Looks like not all of my fans are cute."'

'"Tch -" Wu Minger couldn't hold it in and she let out a quick laugh

which made Li Yuyan angry.'

'"Wu Minger

shouldn't assistants be standing? Let me sit on your chair."'

'This angered He Xinyan

and she was about to shoo Li Yuyan away when she saw Gu Yebei suddenly stand up from the corner of her eyes.'

'"I want her to sit here. Do you have a problem with that?"'

'Wu Minger looked up at Gu Yebei gratefully and she felt as her heartbeat sped up. Wow

her idol was so manly!'

'Li Yuyan didn't expect this to happen and she took a step back nervously

"I - Well

if Senior Gu says so

I'll go get another chair then."'

'Li Yuyan quickly ran off and came back a few seconds later with a foldable chair in her hands. She then sat down to the left of Gu Yebei

who seemed very angry about having to sit next to Li Yuyan.'

'Without even acknowledging Li Yuyan

Gu Yebei turned to his right and asked

"Guys

can we move to the other side? I don't know why

but there is suddenly this really disgusting perfume smell. I can't stand it."'

'Yang Siyue was the first to stand up

"Sure."'

'Li Yuyan watched as the four of them folded their chairs and walked over to the other side of the camera

and her face turned green from embarrassment.'

''Why are they so close to He Xinyan?! What did He Xinyan do? That vixen. . . All she does is seduce men!' Li Yuyan took a deep breath and awkwardly stood up before walking away with her head held high.'

'Wu Minger watched her and burst out laughing

"Hahahaha. . . Mr. Gu

thank you for helping me earlier!"'

'"No problem

" Gu Yebei responded.'

'"Yanyan

don't get too close with your stepsister. I can already tell she is a fake white lotus. . ." Yang Siyue whispered to He Xinyan.'

'"Don't worry

Sister Siyue. I know."'

'The break ended quickly and Yang Siyue left to film her first two scenes. He Xinyan

and Gu Yebei also stood up to go watch her as she filmed.'

'She finished quickly with one take on each scene

and then it was He Xinyan's turn. They were going to finish her scene and then it was time for lunch.'

'"Fighting

little Yanyan!" Gu Yebei put two thumbs up and smiled cutely.'

'It took a few minutes for the camera to set up on the long stone passage that led up to the large hall. The sun was out since it was noon already

and filming quickly began.'

'The first scene was the one He Xinyan used for her audition when Concubine Xi first entered the palace. She carried a sack with a few of her belongings and entered a completely new place where she would spend the rest of her life.'

'To her surprise

He Xinyan finished the scene in one take

and the director seemed to be quite satisfied.'

'"Lunch break is thirty minutes! Gather here at the Gate of Supreme Harmony in thirty minutes!"'

'The Gate of Supreme Harmony was the hall where the emperor met with his ministers

and it was where the crew was supposed to meet up most of the days.'

'He Xinyan met up with Wu Minger

then Gu Yebei and Yang Siyue

and they ate lunch together. They arranged their chairs into a circle and chatted as they ate.'

'The rest of the day went by smoothly as they filmed a few more scenes

and the first workday was over. The first day of filming was much better than what He Xinyan had expected.'

'Somehow

she managed to make a friend already

and coincidentally

her boyfriend's younger brother was the first male lead!'

'After parting ways with Gu Yebei and Yang Siyue

He Xinyan happily drove home with Wu Minger.'

'It was late at night already

and after He Xinyan arrived at the street of her apartment

she texted her dad saying she would eat dinner with Wu Minger

and walked straight up the porch to Gu Yechen's house.'

'He Xinyan was about to pull her keys out when she realized that the door was unlocked. Was Gu Yechen home already? He Xinyan looked around when she stepped in and bent down to change her shoes into slippers.'

'When she looked back up

Gu Yechen was standing right in front of her.'

'"Ah! Do you not make any sound when you walk?"'

'"I - I. . ." Gu Yechen pointed back and forth and didn't know what to say. He Xinyan chuckled before pushing him back into the living room.'

'"How was filming today?" Gu Yechen asked as they sat down together on the couch and He Xinyan opened a bag of chips to eat.'

'"It was good! I did well and I made some friends. Why didn't you tell me Gu Yebei was your brother?"'

'Gu Yechen frowned slightly

"You met him?"'

'"Yep

we are friends now! He's quite different from you."'

'Gu Yechen watched as He Xinyan ate several chips at once and smiled

"Don't get too close to him. He's a bad influence."'

'He Xinyan laughed. How could he talk about his brother like that?'

'"Oh

I'm also friends with my idol! Do you know Yang Siyue?"'

'Gu Yechen's expression changed slightly as he raised one eyebrow

"Heard of her before."'

'"She's my favorite actress. She is actually really sweet

and her

and me are friends now."'

'Gu Yechen smiled warmly as he looked down at the chatty He Xinyan next to him. She sat with her legs crossed and would occasionally stuff a few chips into her mouth when she wasn't talking.'

'"Did you eat dinner yet?"'

'He Xinyan pouted

"No

I'm hungry. The food they give on the set is really bad." He Xinyan rubbed her empty stomach and looked up pitifully at Gu Yechen.'

'"I'll go cook

" Gu Yechen said as he stood up.'

'"Yay

I'll go help

" He Xinyan said as she dropped the bag of chips and stood up too. However

to her disappointment

Gu Yechen turned around immediately and replied firmly

"No."'

'"Why? My cooking skills improved after the omelette rolls! Didn't you say they were good?"'

'". . ." Gu Yechen kind of regretted lying to her now.'

'"Um. . . Xinyan

to be honest

you aren't really the best at cooking. You can leave the cooking to me

okay?"'

'He Xinyan seemed a little upset as she sat back down

"Okay. . . I'll just stick with eating then."'

'Gu Yechen rubbed her head gently before walking into the kitchen. He quickly decided what to make and grabbed the ingredients out of the fridge.'

'After putting an apron on

he began cooking. He didn't seem to notice the small body hiding behind the wall sneakily watching him.'

'He Xinyan seemed to be daydreaming as she stared at the back of Gu Yechen. How could his back view even be so handsome?!'

'In a casual black shirt and sweatpants

Gu Yechen seemed to look even more handsome and young

as his usual suit created a more mature feel.'

'He Xinyan watched him for a while before she slowly walked back to the couch to finish her chips.'

'They ate dinner together and after Gu Yechen had washed the dishes

he went upstairs and into his office for a virtual meeting.'

'He Xinyan found some fresh fruits inside the refrigerator

and then found some thick gloves. After putting the gloves on

she slowly sliced the fruits

and to her surprise

she didn't end up accidentally cutting her fingers. However

in the end

the gloves were a little destroyed.'

'He Xinyan walked up to the second floor

carrying her plate of different shaped fruits; some extremely large and some a little too small.'

'She knocked gently before stepping into the room

and her eyes widened when she saw Gu Yechen.'
