Chapter 674: If you're the Devil! Well, I'm Jesus!

"You mean that the blue-skinned mutant is a man?"

Hearing Jean's statement, Scott's expression seemed puzzled as well. "Mystique can transform into anyone, but if she truly used her powers, her skin color should be like a normal person's... Could this really have nothing to do with Magneto?"

"I know!"

Just as they were pondering this, Fang Mo suddenly clapped his hands and said seriously, "It must be the work of Morphman!"

"What did you say?"

Hearing this, Jean and Scott were clearly confused.

"Beorandi, also known as the Sky-Splitting Demon Man," Fang Mo explained earnestly. "An Omega-level mutant, rumored to be a brute. He loves wrestling in the locker room during the humid season... Since the clothes won't dry anyway, might as well tear them up."

"...Can you stop with the nonsense?"

But before he could finish, Logan frowned and interrupted him. "Charles has been missing all night. Didn't you say he's your old friend? Can't you show some concern for him?"

"Why do you assume I'm talking nonsense..."

"Does that even sound believable!?"

Logan shouted angrily, "You keep saying there's a bullet in my head causing my memory loss. Now I'm starting to think you might have been shot with me, except the bullet took your sanity!"

"Hey, you're wrong. The one who was shot with you back then was Old Kent."

Fang Mo first corrected him righteously, then laughed, "But although the bullet didn't hit me, it still took something important from me... that is my merit, because I couldn't hold back my laughter."

"You..."

"Hey, I think we should support domestic products."

Before Logan could finish, Fang Mo continued, "Every penny we spend on domestic products is made into bullets... which are then used to shoot themselves."

"..."

Hearing this, Logan wanted to retort but then realized Fang Mo might have a point, so he reluctantly held his forehead. "...Forget it, go on with your nonsense."

"Alright, enough kidding."

Seeing Logan's headache, Fang Mo was satisfied and began to talk business. "The blue-skinned person Jean saw earlier should be Nightcrawler."

"Nightcrawler?"

Hearing this name, the others exchanged glances. Clearly, they hadn't heard of this person, so Scott quickly asked, "Mr. Fang Mo, do you know this guy?"

"Sort of... I've heard of him."

Fang Mo nodded. He indeed knew about Nightcrawler.

This so-called Nightcrawler's real name is Kurt Wagner, a male mutant with completely blue skin covered in intricate patterns. He is said to be a devout Christian.

His ability is quite simple.

It's teleportation.

Yes, just like the Red Devil whom Fang Mo encountered in X-Men: First Class, both can teleport.

As for the official lore, Nightcrawler is indeed the son of the Red Devil and Mystique. This explains why his skin is blue since Mystique's skin is blue.

He inherited his mother's skin color and his father's teleportation ability.

But this is just the official comic book lore. There's no evidence in the old timeline of the X-Men movies to support these relationships.

Even Fang Mo isn't sure if he is really Mystique's son.

But honestly, Nightcrawler's appearance surprised Fang Mo a bit since he didn't appear at all in X-Men 1 and only showed up at the beginning of X-Men 2.

Considering Charles' disappearance and Nightcrawler's appearance, a vague suspicion formed in Fang Mo's mind.

Perhaps the butterfly effect caused by my actions has been too great, leading to significant changes in the plot of the X-Men.

Thus, the X-Men quickly reached a consensus.

Even though their philosophies were different, they agreed to prioritize finding Professor X and hearing his opinion.

The previous disputes were largely due to Professor X's disappearance, forcing them to make decisions on their own. Now that there was a lead on his whereabouts, the immediate priority was to retrieve him and let him deal with Magneto.

After all, the X-Men are a team of justice.

They may have occasional arguments, but they never hesitate when it comes to saving lives.

Soon, they devised a general plan. Professor X had to be rescued, and this task was assigned to Scott and Jean, along with a few outstanding mutant students.

As for Magneto, his evil plans needed to be monitored.

Storm volunteered to track Magneto with Darwin. Both had versatile abilities and could avoid carrying metal, giving them a fighting chance against Magneto.

Regarding Fang Mo and Logan, the team still harbored distrust, especially towards Fang Mo who had just returned from Magneto's base.

Jean even saw images in Senator Kelly's mind of Fang Mo urging Magneto to increase power. This made Fang Mo's allegiance suspect among some X-Men.

However, the X-Men couldn't afford to openly confront Fang Mo. His strength was formidable, and some veteran mutants, like Darwin, believed he wasn't aligned with Magneto.

Darwin reasoned that if Fang Mo were with Magneto, the White House might already be devoid of any survivors.

Ultimately, the X-Men chose to turn a blind eye to Fang Mo's ambiguous stance.

Jean soon used the cerebro again, enduring intense mental strain. She found the teleporting mutant's location, collapsing but revealing, "He is in a church."

Supported by Scott, Jean weakly said, "He looks nervous. I don't know why, but he's in an abandoned church in the northwest suburbs of New York..."

With this information, the X-Men sprang into action.

Scott, piloting the jet, took the weakened Jean, Logan, and the curious Fang Mo from the X-Mansion to the church.

The speed of the Beast-designed X-Jet was impressive, reaching the derelict church in minutes. Scott landed nearby and led the team inside.

"Get out!" A cold, sinister voice echoed as they entered. "I am the messenger of the devil!"

The voice was eerie, coming from all directions in the dilapidated church, creating a frightening atmosphere. "I am the devil's progeny, the embodiment of evil. You will be cursed by me..."

Before the voice could continue, Fang Mo stepped forward, radiating a blinding holy light, with holes appearing in his hands.

"Come down!" Fang Mo commanded with authority, "A mere demon dares to cause trouble here. I am Jesus!"

"What... what..." The hidden figure panicked as Fang Mo's light illuminated the entire church, banishing the darkness and leaving nowhere to hide.

Instinctively, the figure teleported outside.

But Fang Mo quickly used his time-stopping ability and followed, bringing the figure back to the original spot.

When the time-stop ended, Nightcrawler was shocked to find himself still in place. He tried teleporting several times, but each time ended up back where he started, bewildering him.

Sweat soaked Nightcrawler's back as he watched Fang Mo, who now seemed more majestic and radiant than the Jesus statue, exuding a powerful aura like a true deity.

He quickly yielded.

"Alright, alright."

After a brief silence, Nightcrawler chose to submit. A black mist flashed, and the group saw a figure kneeling before Fang Mo.
