Hiatus + Rewrite Note
Hello there, lovely people.
I apologise for the lack of chapters in the last few weeks (it seems like the billionth time now, honestly).
Many of you probably came hopeful for a new chapter but found this instead. And you are now likely brandishing your weapons, ready to chop me up, but what can ya do?! Bahahahaha...!
Ahem, anyway, to the main point: the rewrite.
Well, I don’t really know where I am going with the story. No, I do, but I only know the ends and some points of the plot, you know? Like I am at point A and I definitely want to get to point G and I also vaguely know point C and point E that are on the way. But, I haven’t the slightest clue about the points B, D and F in between. So, from a point, I randomly choose a direction and start running. And more often than not, I find that I have diverged so far from where I wanted to go that I don’t think I can ever go back to it. This, coupled with my shitty time management skills is basically why my release rate has been so slow lately. Then, there’s the Romance - if you can call it that. This is the part that I really don’t like. It was too fast and too unrealistic. I want it to be a bit more spaced out and allow the feelings to build, y’know? So, this time around, I will let it happen slowly. No Harem, but it is a little convoluted? Xiao Hong will end up with only one partner, but since you have reached this point, you know very well that Xiao Hong is quite lustful. And in a world where harems are a norm... well, you can imagine her thoughts. This will be part of her character development. I haven’t really decided how I should go about this: Like, would she cheat? Or officially have two partners? Or would it be an ‘on and off’ kinda relationship - bouncing between partners? Or something else?Do you think I should label it a harem even if she ends up with one? Let me know in the comments below. There is the fact that I tend to go off on a tangent for something completely unnecessary - like the Yun Family arc. Other than the introduction of Rialda, Yun Qingfeng and Ye Lingxiang, they had no significance in the story at all and ended up confusing readers. There are many other reasons, but these are the main ones.No automatic cultivation system cheatYeah, that cheat was a tad overpowered. When I’d started writing RJB, I had been really into OP systems. But now I feel it's a bit meh. So, it’s going out of the window.Xiao Hong will still have a cheat, of course. Because, honestly speaking, she really isn’t anything special. Without one, her life isn’t looking up. But, she will have to pay a price for using it. How she uses the cheat will decide whether she rises.Cultivation system changes: I am gonna massively depower the whole thing: I can only take so many planets exploding before I stop giving a shit. So, Cultivators will be much weaker. Numeric prefixes to the Stage names: Like First Stage Qi Gathering, Second Stage Earthen Origin and so on.Lower Stages will be a lot more detailed.I will also change the starting a bit. I intend to flesh out the starting a lot more instead of having her just cultivate for 2 years straight. There are a few more minor changes here and there, but they’re too small to list here.
Finally, thanks a lot for staying with me for so long! Whether or not you care to check out the rewrite, I am truly grateful that you have given my work the time of your day - it means a lot!
And, if you have suggestions about the rewrite and how I can improve it, comment down below!
Bye for now~!
PS: If you’re wondering what was supposed to happen in the next chapter; Well Xiao Hong gets another beating while Rialda risks herself to save her (she can’t bear to see such a great specimen hurt). From here, Xiao Hong and Rialda form a bond. Also, Qiao Guiying is around for the ‘opportunity’. What will happen when the three of them meet and she sees Xiao Hong's and Rialda's close relationship? Hehehehehe~ So much drama~!
