Chapter 1344 Emma's Break
"Lyra, do you need me to tell you what to do?" Emma asked the black beast on her shoulders.
Lyra shook her head.
"Good," Emma said. "Go win."
The 3 months test was surprisingly a small tournament between all the beasts that every student in the Institute had brought along. It was a test to see how strong they were and how well the students did with them.
Emma simply crossed her arms and watched as Lyra, having recently entered the Essence Manifestation realm, easily defeated the Gray fox that she fought. The fox was weaker altogether, so it could not come up to Lyra's strength.
Emma and Lyra moved away, letting others fight. Betty's turn was soon and she joined.
Betty's beast was a meter-long red centipede with two long glowing crimson gems on its forehead. The Rubyhead Centipedes were one of the rarest beasts in the entire world. They were so rare, that even most people who learned about beasts wouldn't know what it was.
Most considered the beast extinct, but somehow Betty's father had managed to find one and gift it to her. Now, she used the trained centipede to fight against her opponent.
The Centipede wasn't strong. It was only in the Essence Sense realm. But, with the ruby on its head being a Natural Conduit, it could easily create attacks while not engaging in a fight directly.
The battle lasted a short time as the Centipede used its Explosion Essence to destroy any chance of its opponent's victory.
Betty walked away, going over to Emma to sit by her. "I think we'll come top 10 here," she said. "James' lion will be especially hard to beat. Where did he find the crystal-tailed Lion?"
"I don't know how hard it will be," Emma said. "Lyra here is in the Essence Manifestation realm too after all."
"But she only just entered," Betty said. "James' lion has been in the Essence Manifestation realm for 2 years now."
"Let us see how things go." Emma gave a cheeky little grin.
"My home?" Emma chuckled. "Why would you want to do that?"
"I hear your father makes amazing weapons. I want to ask him to make me one," she said. "Do you think he would make me one?"
"If you're polite enough," Emma said. "But do you truly want to come to my place before going back to yours?"
"That's fine, I'll have my guard come along too."
As Betty mentioned, a person had been waiting for her to escort her back. However, he was forced to follow her whims to go with Emma to her house.
Emma didn't object and took Betty along with her, making her way through the busy streets of the midday to find her way back to her father's shop.
She arrived and opened the door to enter. As soon as she was in, she stopped in shock. She looked around in surprise at the shop that was no longer what she remembered it to be.
The size alone was shocking, but the number of people inside shocked her even more. There were hundreds of people inside, with dozens of them wearing the same uniform.
'Uniform? Is Papa's shop?' she couldn't fathom what was going on. Had he accepted more people to work for him? Where was he even? She recognized nobody in the shop at all. She stopped the first person she saw, a man named Darrel, and asked him about his location.
"I'm sorry, I cannot answer that question," the young man said.
Emma felt exasperated. "I'm his daughter," she said.
"I cannot verify that," the man said.
"Then bring him here to verify," Emma said. "Or Rova, or Umbra, or whoever is present."
"Ning's daughter?" a voice asked from the side.
Emma turned around to see a handsome young man approach her.
"Hi, I'm Randal Tarmon," he introduced himself. "If you're Ning's daughter, then you must be Emma."
