Chapter 1423 The Amusement Park
Tim and Jasmine screamed at the top of their lungs as the Ferris wheel spun round and round, making them feel exalted with every swing.
Their day at the amusement park until now had been fun, but this was the most fun they had had in their entire journey.
Jasmine screamed at the top of her lungs as the wheel swung down, and Tim nearly fainted a couple of times but managed to hold on. Ning simply enjoyed watching the other two people enjoy.
By the time the wheel had come to a stop and they were to walk out, the two of them were all smiles.
Ning let the two talk about how fun it was while taking them toward a place they had decided to visit beforehand. It was a large tent set up at the edge of the amusement park where people came every day to try and talk about various things they wanted to sell or reveal to the world.
That was the place where Ning had read Zarius had revealed his camera for the first time.
They arrived by the tent, at which point both Tim and Jasmine had calmed down a lot, and entered. A group of people were already inside, watching someone on the stage, giving a demonstration of something.
A mannequin was made to wear some sort of shirt that was in tatters, while the man stood to the side with a rifle that he prepared.
"You saw how easily my shirt protected the mannequin from stab wounds. Now watch how it will protect someone from gunshots too," he said and shot the mannequin.
A large hole opened in the shirt with the single shirt, and a few people walked onto the stage to take off the mannequin's shirt. After the shirt was out, the man revealed a wounded, but otherwise unhurt mannequin.
Had there not been the shirt, the mannequin's entire chest would've been blown wide open.
Some people tried to speak out about how the shirt didn't save the mannequin from getting hurt in the end, but those who knew how much safer the shirt had made the mannequin clapped and shouted cheers at the man.
The man paused for a second and looked Ning up and down. He judged Ning by the clothes he wore and gave an expression of suspicion.
"How do I know you are what you say you are?" the man asked. "I've never seen an investor as young as you. Do you even have the money?"
Ning reached into the coat he wore and made it appear as though he was pulling out a large pouch from somewhere inside his coat. As he pulled it out, the pouch jingled with coins and the man looked surprised.
Ning opened the pouch and showed the contents to the old man who was more than surprised to see a large pouch filled to the brim with gold coins.
"Dear Zurinus," the man shouted. "You must be quite rich to walk around with so much money on you. How rich are you man?"
"I don't believe that is the topic of our conversation," Ning said. "I simply wish to ask about the Inventor Zarius and how I would go about investing in him."
The man shrugged. "The truth is, I couldn't tell you where to find him. The inventor likes to hide from the public he has come up with his next invention. However, I can get you to talk with someone who works somewhat directly for the inventor."
"Oh, please, tell me more," Ning asked.
"Leave me your details and I will tell the person to try and contact you. He isn't in the city, so you will have to wait for a while before you get anything back from this man."
"I'm fine with that," Ning said. He quickly took out a piece of paper and wrote down the details of how to find him.
"Just tell the person to leave a message here and I will get it within a day or two," Ning said.
The man looked at a piece of paper and nodded. "Alright, I will do as you say."
