Chapter 1525: Training
After the lieutenant left, Ning was taught all he could possibly learn in a single day by Berraine. It was more of the dos and donts of a Converter, and how one should manage oneself.
Especially given Ning's importance to humanity, he couldn't push himself too hard, or else he would break himself.
"Do not consume more Spark than your body can handle. Too much spark and you can destroy your body in such a way that you become Sparkless. It has happened too many times before, so you have to be careful."
"Whenever converting something, always make sure that you know exactly what it is that you are converting something into. Have a proper image in your mind, or at least an understanding of it. Any wasted Spark is something that could've been used for something better."
"Stop just looking at things and begin experiencing it too. You need to know what you are touching or looking at so you can turn things into it when necessary. Given your status, you will be asked to turn many things into something essential, so you will need to get used to stuff."
Ning nodded vigorously to every tip he was given, taking in the woman's knowledge with all her heart. In just a single morning, he had gone from an unknown Cadet to someone who was close to being called the 'savior of humanity'.
Ning was allowed to return back to his place some time later, after being told that he was no longer a Cadet. Just because of his results in the Spark power testing, he had at least been promoted to an Officer.
Whether he would be promoted more or not would depend on the higher-ups.
Ning didn't have anything to do after returning, so he went over to the library, learning more about the place, the world, and whatnot.
Once night fell, he went to the cafeteria to talk with his acquaintances and he was most likely going to have to stop hanging out soon enough.
After having his dinner, Ning returned to his room.
The next morning, there was no alarm. Ning woke up on his own and checked the time. He had been conditioned to wake up early in the morning, so he woke up just in time for training.
Only, he was no longer a Cadet, so there was no training.
Ning decided to check if his duties had changed now that his position in the military had. His duty had instead changed to training.
"Just because you are talented, it won't mean that you will only get the benefits of it. We will work you like a machine, making you do things that we know only you can do."
"You will have to be ready."
Ning accepted that fact and nodded. "I'm ready for whatever you will throw at me, Captain. I will handle it all."
"Good," the little woman said. "Lieutenant Franc will tell you anything else that you will need to remember."
She stood up from her chair. "I will look forward to what you can do, Officer Ning."
"I won't disappoint you, Captain," Ning said.
She stood up and left, and with her left the other people that were in the room. Only Lieutenant Franc and Berraine remained behind.
Lieutenant France finally stood up and walked over to Ning, patting him on the shoulder. "Don't worry too much. You're doing fine," he said. "Just don't talk about what you are doing to anyone and keep a lowkey life. Understood?"
"Yes, Sir," Ning answered.
"Good! Continue on with your day. There won't be much to do for the next 2 weeks, so take
your time and enjoy."
"Thank you, sir," Ning said and watched as the lieutenant left the room as well, leaving behind him and Berraine.
Berraine finally called him over to the desk where a wide assortment of items were already on
top of it.
"If you are ready, we shall begin immediately."
