Chapter 1537: Test
A few days passed and Ning was finally allowed to stop working on Converting items created by Carvers. The demand had just died down a lot in the few days, and not as many of them were needed to fulfill what demand there was still left.
At this point, Ning had nothing to do, just like most of the military people in the city. So, he walked around the place, policing it and seeing if someone needed something.
That was the simple task he was assigned to for the time being, which would only change when the center city, the one exclusively for the Military alone would open up.
People had already been sent to set it up, but those that were sent were ones of higher rank. Officers like him and other Cadets were forced to remain back and wait for the place to officially open up before moving in.
That lasted for a few more days as all 10 ships had to come and all 10 cities had to be filled. Soon afterward, Carvers were called away to another location as it turned out that this place needed the making of a City 10 as well.
With the Military city at the center, it would be the 11th city on the moon.
Unfortunately, because no one had been to this place in 10 years, the Carvers had to begin the work from scratch and that was going to take a lot of time.
Still, they quickly finished making as many houses as they could with proper facilities so that the people in overpopulated cities could move in right away.
The Military city finally opened up a few days after City 10 was begun working on, and everyone who wasn't already working on their cities was made to move in. This was especially true for Cadets.
Ning received a message the very next day after he moved in and saw that he was called to a location not that far away from where he had found a place to be as an officer-ranked individual.
Ning made his way to the place and entered to find just two individuals inside.
One of them was the lieutenant that he had come to be familiar with in the days before he left Zoultan.
The other person was the most important person in Urelon whom Ning had come to meet until now. It was Captain Redaime, under who he operated.
He immediately saluted the two.
"Officer Ning, here for duty, Captain."
The Lieutenant took the glass bead and looked at it closely, inspecting any and all mistakes that might be present. Once he was certain that it was of quality, he put it down.
"Change this one into iron," he said.
Ning did as demanded.
Franc inspected that too.
He then asked Ning to turn the next sphere into air, then into water, then into wood. Granite,
steel, obsidian, etc.
"Can you turn this sphere into Neut-Metal?" the man asked.
Ning paused. "Neut Metal?" he asked.
Franc frowned. "Did Berraine not teach you how to convert to Neut-Metal?" he asked.
"She couldn't teach me a lot of things because of the lack of Spark back then. Should I know what a Neut-Metal is?" Ning asked.
The man was flabbergasted now. "How did you grow to be nearly 20 years old without knowing what a Neut-Metal is? How do you not know what the ships are made up of?"
Only then did Ning realize what he was asking about.
"Oh, that. No, I can't convert stuff into that. I don't have much experience with that stuff,"
Ning said.
"That's a shame, you should learn it soon," Franc said. "If that's it, then your test is completed. You can take your Chief Officer rank, but make sure to train at least 3 times a week with Berraine. I will ask her to contact you."
"I will," Ning said.
"Then you are dismissed."
