"Hurray, we draw a rare boss!!"
After drawing the rare boss, I guess beginner's luck at its work, we immediately jumped in to fight against it.
We have 8 flutes thus giving us 32 chances to pull the rare boss but said chances are just 70% so it's not exactly good enough of a number.
That's why I'm glad that we were able to pull the rare boss right from our first try. This, too, must be the blessing of Sachineko-sama. I'm going to buy Sachineko-sama some expensive tasty meat!
"Rika, please take its aggro."
"Roger! I'm Rika, and I'm going to take your head for you are my target, ‹Warrior's Beginning›! ‹Body Double›!"
Rika immediately stepped forward at my instruction and began to gather the rare boss's aggro metre towards herself.
Rika basically doesn't need to give out her introduction when using‹Warrior's Beginning› but that just seems to be her way of doing. And if you think about it, introducing themselves is really warrior-ish.
"Wooof!"
"... Hey Zephyr, the boss just let out a dog-like shout!"
"Seems so."
That was all I could say.
"The rare boss is... quite fat for a squirrel (?) Isn't it? It would have been more cute if it was just a bit more slim."
"Woof!?"
Even though its target had been set on the Rika, the ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› looked back at us as if to say “Really?” at Ester's remark.
I don't know what it was but maybe there was something in her statement that transcends the general concept of aggro.
Though that has been said, Rika wasn't the one to ignore such an opportunity when the opponent itself showed a gap.
"I'm impressed you have the leeway to look somewhere else! ‹Shogun's Burst› ‹Flash Point›! ‹Dark Sweep›!"
"Wooo!"
"A gap, come on. ‹Force Sonic›! ‹32 Star Stream›!"
Karua also joined, raising a quite vague shout and further tilting the advantage to our side.
"Woof! Howl Howl Woof!"
"Haaa, ‹Take and Return›! ‹Begone›!"
"Hn. ‹Evade Dash›!"
The ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› followed up with a ‹Electric Bear Punch› however Rika easily received and tanked it. What magnificent movework!
Rika is really so good at switching in her offensive and defensive stance. Karua, probably to avoid winding in, took her distance from there.
Karua's hit-and-run tactic was equally impressive.
"Grrrrr!"
Rika easily offset the three consecutive full power attacks and further increased the aggro on herself.
From there began the furious skills onslaught from the boss.
We also found it the right time and jumped at the rare boss.
"Leave the support to me! ‹Divine Protection›! ‹Blessing of the Guardian Dog›!"
"Everyone attack the rare boss from its flank and back while it is focused on Rika! ‹Sonic Sword›!"
"Got it! ‹Charge Spear›!"
"‹Scale Break›! ‹Twin Cat's Swipe›!"
"Grrrrrr!"
"‹Brave Slash›!"
"HOWL!"
In the meanwhile ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› was busy focusing on Rika with its ‹Electric Claw› and ‹Finishing Head› attacks, close-combatant members joined the attack from its other sides.
However ‹Electric Besr-cum-Squirrel› is a rare boss, thus its strength is comparable to the boss class opponent from Int-mid. So its HP was equally huge and we couldn't do substantial damage in a short time.
"Kuh, ‹Begone›!"
"Wait, I'm going to heal you! ‹Healing Prayer›!"
"Thank you Lana-dono! Haaa, ‹Taks and Return›!"
Any damage Rika incurred was quickly healed by Lana.
Rika was undoubtedly an impressive warrior but that being said, it was still quite hard to offset everything and so she couldn't avoid earning some damage as she defended herself with ordinary defence skill. That's why Lana didn't participate in the offence this time and was in charge of buff and healing.
"It's skin is quite thick, isn't it? ‹Flash Thrust›! ‹Triple Shoot›!"
Seeing that damage wasn't passing through much, Ester prompted to 3rd order skills.
Indeed, the recommendation level for ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› was Lv59.
The general theory was to fight it with a 3rd order skill tree that raised the ‹Skill Lv›.
I had intentionally avoided speaking about it in earlier strategy to hone their own judgement. And I could see that Ester and other members were gradually considering the skills compatibility and way to fight. They're growing.
"Hn, I'm going to increase my attacks ‹Delta Stream›! ‹Starburst Tornado›!"
Karua's skills basically revolved around chaining her combos. The single attack might just put a simple scratch but when same attacks are made consecutively, they could also do significant damage. Seems like Karua too has switched to 3rd order skills.
"‹Attribute Sword : Fire›! ‹Lightning Slash› ‹Quick Strike›!"
"Wooo!?"
We finally did some damage and made the boss falter. It seems to have taken quite a damage, I guess Karua's and mine debuff had made it through.
Boss's movement began to lag behind after the momentary flinching, giving Rika's some breather as she successfully used her defence skill to pull a huge bonus.
"Howl!"
"Fool, I already saw this move. Behold! ‹Twin Swallow Flip›!"
Karua used her unique skill.
The effect of Sakura petals dancing in the air ensues when Rika activated her unique skill at the same as ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› fired its ace move ‹Finishing Head›, following a loud crashing sound that vibrates even our internal organs, and put a huge knock back effect on rare boss.
"Howwwl!!!"
"Chance. ‹Starburst • Rain Edge›!"
Karua's strongest move, a multi-hit attack, falls on the ‹Electric Bear-cum-Squirrel› under the knock back effect and effectively pushes it into the down status.
"It's blasting time!"
"Haaa! ‹Battle Focus›! ‹Shogun's Burst›! ‹Flame Slash›! ‹Ice Strike›! ‹Flash Point›! ‹Dark Sweep›!"
"Finally, I can make a move! ‹Sacred Demon's Blessing›! ‹Shining Sabre of the Sacred Light›! ‹Rise of the Sacred Tree›! ‹Light Blade›! ‹Divine Pillar›!"
Lana and Rika also switched to full attacker mode and bombarded the boss with their strong skills.
That's sure to do a huge amount of damage.
