Chapter 10: Chapter 10 – The Pig
Feng Mei gripped onto her worn out skirt. ‘Darn, should I run or beat them up,’ she contemplated.
But the sailors already started surrounding her with a creepy grin.
When in danger, our brains process only two thoughts.
Fight or flight.
Right at that moment, her head was leaning towards flight. As much as she wanted to save the kids, she knew that she was not capable enough to pull dead weights around.
“Kids run!” she shouted, but the kids still hesitated. “Darn it all. If I run, my guilt would eat me alive,” she shouted. Glancing around, she found a wrench in a barrel. She dashed towards it and picked it up.
The menacing looking men surrounded her with a creepy grin on their faces.
.....
“Come at me, you fuckers. I will smash you all like a watermelon,” Feng shouted and waved her new found weapon around.
The men were not fazed. They chuckled and stepped closer. “Skinny, but she has some meat....” one of them whispered and locked his lips.
Feng bit her lips and stepped back. Soon her back hit the walls of the ship. She subtly glanced back. ‘Should I jump in? But this task..... I might fail it,’ she thought anxiously.
The fat man laughed manically. “You runt. How dare you hit me? Come here girl, I will make you into a tasty soup,” he licked his lips as well.
“Che,” Feng spat at him and grimaced. ‘I should jump but I have to make him jump.’ Her determination spiked. ‘If I’m gonna die here than he follows along,’
“You pig, I retch at just your sight. You are not even man enough to fight me alone,” She goaded.
“You bitch,” the stout man shouted and charged at her.
Feng already anticipated this attack. She side stepped and tripped him. The walls of the ship were already low, so the stout man lost his balance and went off board.
Watching this, Feng smirked and jumped after him. “Adios suckers. Eat my ass,” she shouted.
The cold water froze her limbs, yet it could not dampen her enthusiasm. She swam over to a floating log and held on tight. In the distance, she saw the stout man swimming towards her.
“Shit, he survived this time,” she cussed and started paddling her frozen legs. The water made it harder for her to swim but the man behind her was faster.
‘He is a sailor, after all. I should not have underestimated him,’ she bit her lips and swam swiftly. Her muscles strained and froze over in the cold water.
She waited anxiously for the notification that the task was over, but the game remained silent as a lamb. “Fuck this game. This must be Ling’s ghost that is haunting me. ahhh but I didn’t do anything,”
With flaying arm, she grabbed hold of a floating wood plank. It was enough to hold her small weight. She glanced back to find him swimming faster towards her. “Shit,” she started rowing it with her hands but still it was not able to compete with his speed.
He caught up to her and rolled the plank over.
Feng Mei rolled over as well. Water got into her eyes and ears, making her dazed for a second, yet she swam up and took a deep breath.
Someone gripped her hair and dragged her up. “You bitch, I’ll make sure to kill you right here. How dare you push me off,” he shouted with a vile expression.
Fen tried fighting him off, but her small hands and legs were not strong enough to fight a grown man. “Let go you stupid pig,” she shouted, trying to pry open his hands.
“You bitch, you still making a racket,” he said with a weird laughter. He dragged her closer and pulled her underwater.
Feng knew that she had made the situation even worse. She struggled and kicked, but nothing worked. Her lungs burned from the lack of oxygen and her eyes went blurry.
He lifted her up, giving her time to take a small breath. “I’m a pig, huh?” he growled and dragged her under again. This time she was able to last a little without struggle, yet she was not able to hold her breath for long. Sea water started filling her mouth and ears, making her sick to the stomach.
“Am I still a pig. Answer me bitch?” he shouted and dragged her close to his face by her hair.
She gazed at him with her eyes half mast and whispered, “Y-you pig,”
Something in the stout man snapped. He dragged her under, but this time he did not bring her up for air. She struggled hard, but soon all strength left her limbs. Cold started spreading from the tips of her feet to top of her head.
Feng tried... she really did, but she was not able to get out of his hold.
‘Am I going to die like this?’ she thought as she slowly succumbed to the darkness.
