Chapter 79: Chapter 79 – Threat!!!!

The twins still chased around Elle, asking who will end up with who. It was questions that she did not care about or worry about.

‘As of now protecting myself and others is all I care...’

Feng Mei hopped off the bench and walked over to the edge of the boat. Her eyes feasted upon the glistening waves. They were mesmerisingly moved with small ripples shimmering in the sunlight. ‘If I didn’t know better, I would have thought this was a real world...’

She softly hummed a song that got swept away by the chilling wind of the ocean.

“Ah, so refreshing... but so cold at the same time,” she tightened the scarf around her neck..

Suddenly, the system beeped alarmingly loud in her mind.

[“Warning! Warning!! Warning!!! Threat approaching!!

.....

Emergency task activated: survive for three days

Immunity for weird time fluctuation has been provided!!

Adventurer Survive!!!”]

The system screamed in her mind.

Feng grimaced. “What the fuck... what does it mean threat..” she vigilantly looked around, but there was nothing around her that could hurt her.

But suddenly she noticed something peculiar.

The twins who were running around were still...

Just like a statue.

Feng gently touched their cheeks. It felt soft and supple. “Hey... can you hear me?”

They did not show any signs of motion. It was so similar to the feeling she got when she froze time.

“Shit!!” she swiftly ran over to Yubiri for help. But much to her disappointment, he too was frozen still.

“Oh, my god... what kind of threat is it? Why is it able to freeze time?.”

She frantically ran around the deck, searching for signs of anyone conscious.

Sadly, all of them were frozen.

She stood there all alone....

“I need to identify the threat...” she went over to the top decks and searched. Even so, nothing was out of ordinary. Everyone was frozen still.

“of the threat is not in the ship, then it might be outside..” she squatted down and carefully peeked at the ocean though the small hole in the walls of the ship.

Surrounding ocean was calm, but the waves were not frozen. ‘Only our ship is frozen.’

Feng subtly hid in the coroners not to be detected by this mysterious being and checked around.

On the north side, she could clearly see a small shadow of a ship approaching them.

‘I presume that might be our threat.’

‘Before they arrive here, I have to do something’

She ran around dragging the twins and Elle towards an inconspicuous store room. She put them in there and locked it from the outside with a huge key lock.

The room was a broom closet even if anyone wants to steal something; they would most likely overlook this place.

Feng then moved to lady Hiliana’s room. She tried dragging her out of her chair, but she was too heavy. “What can I do...” she glanced out the window subtly. The ship was nearing them quickly.

“I don’t have much time.”

She pulled off the curtain and laid it on the ground. She pushed lady Hiliana onto it from her chair and tied one of the ends of it.

It made it little easy for her to drag her.

Feng stashed her and Alvin in another broom closet.

“Hurry, hurry, hurry...” she rushed over to Yubiri’s room and tried dragging the man but this ended up being more troublesome than she had expected.

He was heavy, much heavier than lady Hiliana.

“Sorry mage.... they probably won’t hurt you.... I guess they won’t..” she placed him on the couch and placed a sheet over him. She even closed his wide-open eyes, making it seem like he was sleeping.

“They won’t hurt a sleeping person, right?...”

She closed the room and locked it from the outside just as she did for the other room.

Just as she was walking near the deck, the system loudly beeped.

[Warning! warning!!

Proximity alert!! Threat has boarded the ship!!!]

She knelt down and glanced around. The ship had already neared them and was throwing hooks onto their ship, dragging them close. “They are too close..”

“Fuck!!! What do I do? Where do I hide?”

She had no time. The personnel, who were presumed as a threat, were already on the ship. She could hear their footsteps coming her way.

Feng swiftly removed her shoes and ran... even so she did not find an apt place to hide. She paused anxiously, standing there.

‘I can go to the utilities closet but then I would have to open the lock....’

She glanced around... right in the middle of the deck, a young lady stood there in a huge hoop skirt.

“Ugh, hate to do this...” she crawled under her skirt.

The huge bamboo hoop inside hid her small form completely.

Soon she heard the wood floor under her vibrated and thudding footsteps walked closer.

‘Let’s hope and pray that I will go unnoticed.’ She tightly held the huge key in her hand.
