Chapter 89: Chapter 89 – I’ve become a Time Mage

Feng stood in a dark room. It only had a small window on the top of the ceiling with a bit of light coming in. This was the room she was more than familiar with.

It was her childhood room.

Just looking around made her spine chill.

‘Why.... why am I back here?..’

Someone opened the door loudly. Her step mum walked into the room with her heals clanking. “You have been a bad girl Feng,” she whispered, waving around a small whip.

“No... Please don’t...” her small body was too tired to dodge her blows. Her legs and hands turned bright blue, with bruises all over. “Don’t...”

“You should just die. Don’t stand in my Elliot’s way!” she cruelly screeched before kicking her tummy.

.....

Right then, Feng lost consciousness.

*****

Her sight went dark.

But...

Warmth... Feng felt immense warmth next to her body. She rolled and hugged this warm thing and nuzzled against the softness.

A gently hand caressed her face. “Wake up soon...”

Feng’s eyelid twitched. ‘Ethan....’ she could feel the worry form his voice. She simply hugged him tight.

“She seems much better now,” another voice whispered. This time, Aiden gently kissed her cheeks. “Her cheeks are full of color once again,”

“Shh.. let her sleep,” Ethan shushed him.

She smiled softly. ‘Ah, that was just a nightmare I have already left that awful life. My boys are here... I don’t have to worry about anything.’ she was pulled back to sleep.

The next time she woke up, it was already morning. A small chattering sound was heard nearby.

“I am telling you she is awesome.” Elle’s soft voice argued.

“Of course she is, but she should not have risked it. It was partially our fault. We believed that she was a time mage, but....” Aiden’s voice guiltily mumbled.

“Don’t beat yourself about it,” Elle said back to him, continued by a slight smacking sound. “She will be just fine. I saw her future. She is healthy and well...”

“But future can always change,” Ethan mumbled on a sad note.

‘Aww my babies, I am doing just fine. You don’t have to worry so much about me.’ she consoled them in her heart. Her finger slightly twitched. ‘But how did I survive? I thought only time mages can survive that energy sharing procedure...’

She blinked at the ceiling.

“Gasp, she is awake!!” Elle ran to her. “Meimei, are you feeling good? Are you hurting anywhere?”

The twins climbed up the bed and guiltily glanced at her.

“I... I’m good,” she croaked.

“Get come water,” Elle smacked the twins next to her.

The boys scrambled down and ran to the other room to get water and food.

“They are being energetic...” Feng sat up with difficulty. Her back was sore and so were her legs. “How long was I out for?”

“Ten days,” Elle softly hugged her. “We were so worried. Why didn’t you tell us that you have not manifested,”

“I thought I manifested, but I was wrong I guess,” she awkwardly whispered. She really did not want to tell them that her plan was to die and restart the task.

‘Oh, by the way, what happened to my task? Game what of my task,’

{‘Task being uploaded.... error... error.

‘What the fuckkkkk.... system update! What the hell is that? No, don’t update you, idiot. What if you give me suicidal mission after this? Stop!! Cancel update!! Cancel it!!’ she tightly clutched the sheets.

“Wait!!,” Feng Mei shouted aloud.

“What is it?” Elle anxiously held her hand.

The twins ran back in hurriedly. One of them handed her a glass of water, and Ethan gently caressed her back. “Does it hurt.... can we do anything?”

“Leave the patient be,” Yubiri came into the room with a bowl of hot soup. He took out the glass of water from her hand and placed the tray carefully on her lap. “You need to eat something light first,”

He sat down next to her, waiting for her to drink the soup.

Feng smilingly sipped a spoon full. The soup tasted quite bland and tasteless. “It’s good...”

“How are you feeling? Are you feeling any headaches? Heartache? Your powers have been forcefully activated, so it needs some time to get regulated with your body. Take it easy. We can train it later on,”

“Wait, what powers,” she placed the spoon in the bowl. The whole group peered at her intently.

Yubiri smiled softly. “Congratulation you have become a time elemental mage.”
