Chapter 92: Chapter 92 – Feng Mei Rofles

Having such deep thought, Feng laid her head against her stomach and dozed off.

Lady Hiliana gently patted her back and hugged her tight. “Such a young thing. I hope I would be there to protect her,”

“Grandma,” Alvin entered the door with a hesitant look.

“Come in, child,” she waved at him to come close. He was carrying a huge load of documentations with him. “Is there any correspondence for my letter?”

“Yes, there is. Our great aunt has sent word. They will be meeting up with us when we disembark.” he handed a letter to her and sat on the chair opposite her. “How is she doing?”

“She is doing well. But her small body could not handle such a big shock.” The old lady gently caressed her shiny brown hair.

“Grandma, the adoption papers have settled I got the report just today. Rim this day she is officially your child and our aunt,” Alvin cheerfully handed the documents he safely held with him.

.....

Lady Hiliana’s eyes started to tear up. She swiftly wiped the stray tears away. “Oh, look at me being so emotional person at my age. Alvin I’m so happy.... but my heart is unsettled. I am old and this child... I hope you can take care of her after I pass,”

“Grandma, you are not that old. Besides, she is my aunt now I would protect and take care of her regardless of your command.” Alvin stood and walked over to her side. He gently kissed her wrinkled forehead. “I will hereby give my word.”

“That’s good. That’s good.” She sniffed slightly. “What has my sister said about the adoption?”

Alvin glanced innocently at her.

“Oh, Alvin my boy, my hands are full. I can’t open the letter now. I know you’ve read the letter. So tell me what did she say about adopting the boys.” She gently tugged at his sleeves.

Alvin chuckled. “Fine, I admit I did read it. Our grand aunt is overjoyed to have them. Our great uncle, however.. I can’t judge his reactions to this particular change.”

Hiliana gestured for him to sit close. She gently held his hands. “My sister has been without a child for so long. I recon this would be a wonderful family for the twins. However, I have not asked them their opinion. If I did, Ethan will just pout and Aiden will just smile sweetly and reject it. Why don’t we let them meet the family and then we can decide. What do you think?”

“I think it’s a wise decision. The twins have strong opinions regarding things. If they meet and enjoy living with our great aunt, then it’s all good. If not, they can stay with us. There is more room to spare in our family,”

Lady Hiliana smile softly. “You are right. In two days we shall know the answer,”

“What’s in two days,” Feng whispered, wiping her eyes. She slowly sat up. “Sorry lady, your lap must hurt,” she jumped down.

Old lady adjusted her hair. “It was a delightful weight I held in my arms. Don’t be sorry for that.”

“Oh..” she blushed softly. “What were you both talking about? What’s in two days?”

“We are disembarking.” the lady wiped the drool marks off her cheeks.

Feng swiftly wiped her cheeks. But suddenly her words hit her. ‘Disembarking!!!! Shit, are we making a stop again. I can’t handle the task this shitty system gives ahh!!’

After her initial panic, she remembered that the system was shut off as of now. Of course, there is also a possibility that it might wake up any time and spew out task after tasks.

She glanced at the old lady. “Is it okay if we don’t disembark? I don’t want the last time to repeat,”

“Oh darling,” she cradled her hand. “We are not going to stop anywhere else. We are going to go to our home. We are reaching Reu, our new home.”

Feng’s eyes went wide. ‘Oh, my god we are finally going to get off of this ship!! Thank the lord!!!’

She swiftly got out of her hold and excitedly looked at her. “Are we really landing? That’s so nice. At last we shall walk on land,” she dramatically whispered.

The old lady and Alvin chuckled at her theatrical performance.

Alvin squatted down and gently patted her head. “And you should start address her as mother from today.”

Feng shyly gazed at them both. “Why is that so?’

“Because from today she is officially your mother,” he handed her a few papers. It was clearly written that Feng Mei had officially been adopted into the Rofles family under lady Hiliana’s name.

“Welcome to the family Feng Mei Rofles.” The old lady gently kissed her cheeks.

Feeling the soft paper in her hands, Feng’s eyes watered up.

“Thank you... thank you so much....”

She hugged them both tightly. ‘Thank you so much for loving me and being my family,’
